This was the perfect place to stay while visiting family. Very clean, cute and cozy. Walking distance to bars and short drive to beach. Will stay again and recommend to other family visiting area.
Truly enjoyed this cute little studio and the surrounding area. John was so friendly and happy to make recommendations around the area. The studio is decorated very much to feel like a home and the bed is comfortable.
We enjoyed our brief stay, perfect for our needs. The bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked for its small size! Great shower water pressure. We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella too!
It was just what we needed for our stay in Melbourne.Perfect for a couple, it was close to all of the people we were visiting and when we wanted to get away there was a lot to do within walking distance.Quiet neighborhood and easy to get in and out of.John made sure we were ok and would check in every couple of days.
The property was clean and as presented in the posting. Great little neighborhood within walking distance to local favorites, short drive to the beach, and easy access to major roads to get places easily.
The studio home was just perfect for my quick weekend stay in Melbourne. The home was clean and very cozy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and all amenities that you would need were provided in the room. The host was super responsive and even checked in periodically to make sure I had everything I needed. I will be reserving this home for upcoming trips to town!
Good except for the cold and lack of sufficient heating. Everything else was great!

Hey Brenda!
Thank you for staying with us during the coldest days of the year. Our mini split system offers air conditioning and heating at a click of a button. Sorry to hear that you felt like you couldn't communicate this issue with us during your stay so that we could have helped you adjust the heat to your comfort level. Thank you for your stay and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.
Truly amazing place and John went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The AC wasn’t working properly for my first night there but John had it fixed same day. Definitely recommended
The VRBO was nice, John was friendly and accommodating. The only bad thing was you couldn't sit outside in the yard, we used the alley alot which was noisy and dirty. Location of the bldg. was okay.

Hey Karen!
We see that we couldn't live up to our normal 5-star review for the following shared reasons: Not being able to sit in the backyard and use of the "dirty and noisy" rear alley. Use of the backyard is NOT included in your rental. However, as stated in the arrival binder located on the table when you enter the cottage, if you wanted to have use of the backyard all you had to do is ask. We had very strong communication during your stay, and we are saddened that this request was never brought to our attention as it was an easy fix.
We wish you and your family well.
First thought was how impeccably clean throughout. Next, how well thought out the layout is; a home in a studio! Everything you need w/o being crowded.
Our host, John, was very responsive to any questions and attentive to our comfort. Plus the location was fantastic; walkable to many great places to eat, drink, or shop. We can’t wait to return!
Excellent VRBO, located in the arts district of Melbourne. Close to the art museum, Anaya coffee shop, Pineapples gathering place, antique shops, flower shop, restaurants all within walking distance! Old Melbourne was just a few minute drive from Highland Ave. Old Melbourne a historical downtown location hosting restaurants and tons of shopping!
John is a great host, checking in on us making sure we were comfortable, addressing our concerns and making us feel welcome…
We look forward to a future visit. ☺️
Well Decorated, small, older cottage. Only complaint was the oddly placed toilet. I mean it was literally right up against the side wall, but I doubt that can be changed due to age of the foundation. I arrived after dark so it was a little difficult to find the street number of the home when I arrived. Once we figured everything out and checked-in, as some people have said, parking and using alley entrance may be easiest. John the owner, was very nice and accommodating. For the money, this place is a very good value. I would book again if I came back to Melbourne.

Cute and Clean
The property was cut and clean. However the location of the air conditioner over the sofa was cold. My friend and i checked in on July 12th and stayed until the July 16th and lived out of our suitcases as there was no where to put our clothes. Parking in the dirt alley put us right outside the entrance to the property. However there was a guy living in a trailer right directly across from the property. At times on our travels in and out of the property the guy would just be staring at us making it uneasy for us. Not good at all. Communication was horrible before, during and after the stay. John did say that Vrbo has problems with there system all the time. Our overall stay was ok as we ONLY used the property to shower and sleep.

Hey Carole!
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, it's true that the VRBO app does not work as well as it's competitor which is why I made it a point to introduce myself personally and give you my cellphone number so you can text any issues that might arise. We thank you for choosing to stay with us while in Melbourne.
The primary reason for the low ratings was the unexpected pet fee of $435. Nothing was mentioned on the website and I was only notified of it one day prior to check in via text. This was well beyond the time when I could cancel with no penalty. If I would have cancelled, I would have forfeited all my money. In addition, even if there was a fee upfront, I thought &15 per day for a small dog to be excessive. I have notified VRBO of this situation and they have done absolutely nothing. I thought all fees were to be presented up front.

Randall,
We are saddened to hear that you decided to give us a 1 start review due to the pet fee. The pet fee is clearly stated in the house rules. On average, properties that offer the ability for pets to accompany their owners pay $10-$40 per night extra. Our pet fee is $15 per pet per night.
We are happy to hear that other than the pet fee that your stay went well.
Excellent spot - very cute and comfortable, extremely clean, great location (walkable to restaurants and intracoastal; friendly neighborhood), and very gracious hosts. We will definitely be back!
Location was beautiful! Vacation rental so cozy and clean! We really enjoyed ourself. Had a great conversation with the owner John. He was very helpful on directing us to the best local places like the ice cream shop. We loved our stay and will be back to explore more.
This was one of the best rentals we’ve stayed in! It was clean, cute and close to so much (the water, restaurants, brewery, park). We were able to walk pretty much everywhere, which we loved! We definitely hope to stay here again sometime!
John was an Amazing host. The studio was very clean and quaint. Everything you need is right around the property, beaches, restaurants, shopping pretty much all in walking distance or a short drive. I definitely will be back. You will not be disappointed if you book this property. See you soon John and thank you for everything 😊
