The stay was perfect. I forgot to leave a note letting you know that I tried to do laundry and the washer leaked during the wash cycle but not the rinse cycle.

Denise, thanks for the review. I’m glad you found the “Magic of Molokai”. You know you’re suppose to keep it a secret. We’d be pleased to have you back.
Aloha,
Tom
The property was very well situated and location was beautiful. I wish the property had been cleaner.
We saw herd of deer pass by at night and turkeys and a peacock in front during the day.
Awesome location, all basic needs met. Keep in mind Molokai is for those who want to slow down that aren’t high maintenance. I’ve lived at the ocean before so I know what that means as far as wear and tear, some may not. Amazing susets from the porch, lots of birds.
Molokai is the anti-Hawaii protagonist. Sleepy, simple, inconspicuous. Stay at Kepuhi and one of two tuinfs will happen. Hate it or love it. We loved the location atvthis former grand Sheraton resort. The grounds are still well manicured, the pool tidy, the nearby beaches spectacular. Our upstairs condo unit with ocean view was compact, a little dated but overall suitable for 90% of guests. We loved having self-prepared dinner sitting at the balcony. Host Tom was sincere and accommodating. Overall a solid choice for the Molokai lovers. Haters please stay away on Maui or Waikiki....

My stay on Molokai
The photos I saw before booking looked great for both the location and the rental unit. The location of this place is really lovely, being so close to the water and seeing the spray from whales and watching surfers enjoying the surf down the way.As for the accommodation, I was disappointed. The unit could use some serious scrubbing. I can see that this climate and the red sand in the area takes its toll and easily gets dragged indoors. But I do think some of this has just been accumulating without any great effort to try to clean it. A couple other things were that the pillows on the bed were terrible. Both the main entrance door and the doors to the lanai didn’t close without air spaces. A screened door on the lanai would have been nice as I saw on other units here at the resort.I was here with friends who each had their own units and there were some major differences between the various accommodations, one in particular being very clean and well outfitted.Overall, I really just mainly slept in my unit or sat on the lanai.

Dark, shabby and depressing
A dark and depressing place in a remote, half-closed and dilapidated former resort which shut some years ago. The abandoned lodge and other communial resort buildings were sorry sights with their roof tiles half blown off and a collapsed wooden staircase. This studio was shabby and the furniture had seen better days, including the pull-out sofabed which was as lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on as a wash-board! The place lacked a proper, complete set of clean dishes, cups and glasses, not to mention decent cutlery. Most annoying was we were allocated only one roll of toilet paper! Yes!! Good quality info on what to see and do on the island was lacking. There was a minimalist bit of dog-eared blurb left on the table which on the back page said rather cheekily: "Leave the house cleaner than you found it"! Even a few promotional brochures from local suppliers and services would have been helpful on things like where to rent snorkels, find a guide, whale-spotting sites, hikes, history, where not to walk/drive, local wildlife, sites, and most importantly, local political/tourist sensitivities. On the positive side, the beach was empty and beautiful. You need a car to reach the unit and get about the island. The sea had a strong current and undertow so not great for swimming during our visit. Don't expect to feel welcome on the island. Molokai is the first to tell you when you arrive that it wants tourists to 'Visit, spend and go home'! We did!
All the amenities for a relaxing weekend getaway from Oahu was available to us. Amazing ocean view, comfortable stay. Clean home. My kids loved it. We will be returning.
The property was clean, we had a full kitchen, the bed was very comfortable, and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The management made it easy to adjust our schedule.

Overall good, needs some kitchen things
Kitchen needs a few essentials like a coffee grinder and pots large enough to cook in, dish soap etc. very minimally equipped considering how much cooking you need to do on Molokai!
I have stayed in many of the condos here over the years and for the price point there were a few basics missing.
Owner was very easy to get in touch with though, which I always appreciate!
Moved to Oahu's North Shore in 1978. Lived, worked and raised family there. Always loved to visit Molokai. Stayed at Sheraton's newly opened Kaluakoa Resort and Golf Course. Our favorite Molokai adventures were 1) the 2 mile secluded white sand Papohaku Beach on the West End, 2) the hike down the switchbacks of the 2,000' sea cliffs to Kalaupapa Leporsy Colony (now the Kalaupapa National Historical Park) and 3) a family wedding at the chapel in Halawa Valley/Bay. So now we've decided to spend retirement time in West Molokai and explore even more.
Why they chose this property
The first built and the closest to the ocean and natural beauty of West Molokai. Why take a back seat?
What makes this property unique
Molokai, the Friendly Island and most real Hawaiian. Secluded, remote, ancient history, natural beauty, least tourism of major Hawaiian Islands. If you visit here, you'll have stories to tell, that most others won't.
