Molokai is truly the Friendly Isle and lived up to its moniker in every way. Tom is a tremendous host, courteous and available for any questions/concerns. The whale watching was excellent and we absolutely enjoyed the Makahiki festival which occurred during our stay. We will gladly return next year!

Tom's lofted studio was a wonderful place to spend two weeks writing a new book. It is incredibly serene and just steps away from the ocean. I would recommend this studio to anyone wishing to come to Molokai. Thanks, Tom.
Nice location close to beach & nearby hiking. Unit is well-stocked with good air-flow & breezes through unit. WiFi is reliable. Used the beach towels, chairs & cooler many times. Loved all of our interactions with everyone on the island during our 10 day stay. Beautiful island!
We couldn’t ask for a more beautiful and laid back retreat than at Kepuhi Beach. The views from the deck were amazing.. We watched many lovely sunsets and this morning the full moon shining on the waves. Other buildings in the Resort were a bit shabby BUT the unit we stayed in was stocked and immaculate.
Can’t wait to return!
We love the quiet of Molokai and so staying there is always a pleasure. This condo has been remodeled and is pleasantly appointed in Hawaiian theme. The loft king bed is very comfortable. The stairs are spiral so one needs to be agile to manage them.
It was a very nice upper unit with a great view of the ocean and sunsets and near the path to the three mile beach. The bedroom loft area had wonderful cross ventilation and was very comfortable and offered a nice separation of living spaces. The outdoor shades were a nice addition to block the sun in the late afternoon. WiFi, TV, hot water and water pressure and maintenance of the grounds were all good.
You really can’t get any better view. Kepuhi beach is all about relaxing and enjoying the view from the condo and on the many trails that wind along the ocean to the north and south for miles. You can find yourself on the longest beach in Hawaii with no one in sight. This condo was well equipped. l have only one minor suggestion for the owner and that is to replace the cooktop. It works but all the heat markings are gone and the burners do not seem to be getting hot enough. I came with two friends who stayed in other units. One had a studio that was marvellously outfitted with all new appliances. The other had a unit with an equally marvellous view that needed some TLC and could be better equipped.
Location! For us we loved the ocean view and being on the far end of the complex (away from the pool area). The indoor seating was nice but the outdoor could use some work (dated, rusted, and not very functional).

Molly,
Thanks for the review. Agreed, Location, Location, Location that’s what real estate is about.
I’ll evaluate the outdoor seating. Being oceanfront, with the pounding surf and ocean mist does promote rust.

Tom's place is very well equipped / appointed. And in our opinion it is one of the best views on the island. Great place to walk and enjoy the surf. We ended up sleeping on the pull out couch because the bedroom is in the loft and wanted to have the cool air coming in on us in the evenings. The pull out is very firm. It worked great for me for a full two weeks. My wife would have liked it to be a little softer.

About the host
Hosted by Tom Cooper
Moved to Oahu's North Shore in 1978. Lived, worked and raised family there. Always loved to visit Molokai. Stayed at Sheraton's newly opened Kaluakoa Resort and Golf Course. Our favorite Molokai adventures were 1) the 2 mile secluded white sand Papohaku Beach on the West End, 2) the hike down the switchbacks of the 2,000' sea cliffs to Kalaupapa Leporsy Colony (now the Kalaupapa National Historical Park) and 3) a family wedding at the chapel in Halawa Valley/Bay. So now we've decided to spend retirement time in West Molokai and explore even more.
Why they chose this property
The first built and the closest to the ocean and natural beauty of West Molokai. Why take a back seat?
What makes this property unique
Molokai, the Friendly Island and most real Hawaiian. Secluded, remote, ancient history, natural beauty, least tourism of major Hawaiian Islands. If you visit here, you'll have stories to tell, that most others won't.
