About this property
A Premier Tropical Retreat at Kamaole Sands
Our condo is a distinctive one-bedroom, two-bath end unit vacation condominium rental (5-301) at beautiful Kamaole Sands, across from popular Kamaole III Beach Park in South Maui.........
Smoke free condo and lanai. Top 'Superior' rating from our property management company.
Third floor, end unit location assures peace and quiet, with restful mountain, pool and garden views. Decorated in the British colonial theme with the colors of nature. Overlook Kamaole Sands' beautiful gardens. Enjoy sunsets every evening from our shady lanai with its large overhang.
We invite you to share the beauty and healthful recreational opportunities of our special place in the sun in South Maui. Our spacious, luxury one-bedroom vacation condominium retreat is located in the Kamaole Sands Resort at the southern end of Kihei and adjacent to Wailea. Smoking prohibited in the condo, on the lanais and in resort common areas at Kamaole Sands. Guests always comment on the beautiful tropical landscaping, sparkling fountains, orchid wall and peaceful waterfall. You will find no finer accommodations at Kamaole Sands!
At day's end, enjoy restful sleep on our wonderful queen-sized, pillow-top Sealy Posturepedic mattress set. The plantation shutters provide privacy while allowing cooling breezes to circulate through the room. The flat screen TV and DVD-VCR are thoughtful touches that allow you to enjoy a movie or the Late Night Show in the bedroom.
We are decorated in the British Colonial theme. Palm and banana trees, pineapples, and wicker in natural colors predominate. Beautiful art work adorns the walls. The two bathrooms have been decorated with luminous glass tile and African mahogany carved vanities, thoughtful accessories, decorative lighting, and jetted showers.
Our unit is on the third floor of Building Five, one of the best-located buildings in the Kamaole Sands Resort. Views from the bedroom look toward magnificent Haleakala. Views from the lanai look onto Haleakala, the pool complex and gardens, with the West Maui Mountains, the Pacific Ocean and Lanai in the distance. The well-shaded lanai is aimed toward the west and catches the beautiful sunsets every day of the year. An entry screen door enables you to open the front door and allow the tradewinds to waft through the unit keeping it cool during the warm afternoons. When needed, cool air from our powerful 24,000 BTU air conditioner in the living room. And a portable air conditioner in the bedroom. The unit is at the extreme southern end of the building, and the walkway is well removed from the bedroom window assuring privacy, fresh air and light. Guests have loved this unit and return year after year.
Kamaole Sands resort registration fee partially of fully paid by owner, depending on the length of stay. (Fully paid for stays of at least 2 weeks; 1/2 paid for stays of at least 1 week.) Broadband WiFi internet access, and free local calls.
We provide our guests with additional amenities like beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and a cooler for picnics. No need to pack or rent extra stuff -- just come and enjoy.
The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. so you can cook your own meals, if you prefer. The resort's outdoor barbeque areas with gas grills and tables are another easy way to prepare meals. And there are a lot of restaurants in the Kihei area and across Maui, if you prefer eating out.

About the host
Hosted by Roy and Audrey Rasmussen

Roy and Audrey have a long-time connection to Maui. Audrey was born and raised on Maui (she's a third generation Mauian), and our family has frequently vacationed on Maui over the years (visiting with family, enjoying the many recreational activities that Maui has to offer, and just relaxing). Maui is a special place to our whole family, which is why we've returned here frequently. We live in Boulder County in Colorado, near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Roy is an atmospheric scientist.
Why they chose this property
Kamaole Beach Park III is one of our family's favorite beaches for swimming and boogie boarding. So when we were looking for a place to stay in Kihei during past vacations, we stayed at Kamaole Sands because it is across the street from Kamaole Beach III. We decided to purchase a condo at Kamaole Sands because from our previous stays, we liked the beautiful landscaping and amenities (pool, hot tub, tennis courts, and BBQs) that give it a resort-like atmosphere, but with a laid-back feeling of aloha and welcome. Besides this, Kamaole Sands is the perfect location for us, provides the convenience of kitchen and laundry facilities in the condo, the beautiful grounds make you feel like you're on vacation, and additional amenities all add up to the kind of vacation that our family enjoys.
What makes this property unique
We provide our guests with additional amenities like: a small ice chest for bringing lunch or refreshments with you on sightseeing trips or to the beach. We also provide beach chairs, beach mats, beach umbrellas, beach towels and boogie boards to enhance your vacation and enjoyment at the beach. And for our guests' relaxation while in the condo, there are books, games, and puzzles.
Swimming in the calm waters of Kamaole Beach Park III in the morning. After noon, the winds and waves pick up, which make it great for boogie boarding. You can go to the beach and walk across the street for a lunch break at the condo without ever getting into a car. Also, parking at Kamaole Beach Park III is usually crowded on the weekend when the locals also use the park, so you can still access the beach without the hassle of finding a parking space. The on-site pool is a fresh water swimming alternative, and the hot tub is a great way to end the day.
We've found that the BBQ facilities are a great way to cook for our vacations. We've BBQ'd fresh island fish (which we caught on a deep dea fishing trip earlier in the day), steaks seasoned with a Hawaiian salt mixture, or teriyaki chicken. And there's also tables in the BBQ areas, which we've used when we feel like eating outdoors. It's great to have the option to BBQ, cook some meals in the kitchen, and go out to eat when you feel like it.(You can save some money on meals or splurge if you'd like.)
Because it's an end unit, there's an extra window that brings in extra light and breezes into the living area. And it gives you a feeling of openness because there's only another condo on one side of you. You can see the mountain (Haleakala) when looking back from the side of the lanai.
