It is convenience for shopping. Nice, quiet and safe area. Very spacious and roomy. Very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a great time. Thank you.
The property was perfect.
Great location in the middle of Wells.
The fact that the house is near a restaurant was not a problem at all. You have privacy in the backyard.
It was very clean, plenty of spaces for everyone and well equiped.
Ryan was available and answered very fast.
I recommand that house without hesitation.
Our group of college friends had a great stay in Wells. We participated in the half marathon and 5K, and the location was perfect. The house is right on the race route, and close to the parking areas. The size of the house was great for our group of 5, and we also enjoyed the back patio table thanks to the great weather. This was probably the cleanest rental house I’ve ever stayed in. The property manager was also very responsive when we had questions. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!
Clean and great for our family. The complaint I had is minor but major when serving meals to a family of 7. There were no serving spoons! We had to use teaspoons to serve. I thought the beds, bedding were of very nice quality. Lots of towels. TV is every room was great. Loved the big family kitchen table. Plenty of outdoor dinner tables and chairs that we didn’t use due to weather. Ryan, our VRBO host was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the yellow Garison House.
This IS in the back of the parking lot of Mike's Crab Shack
Our family was there for my daughter's graduation from UNE. Size wise, the house was perfect for all of us. Plenty of space for everyone to not be on top of each other. Plus being a historic home adds to its charm.
The negatives. The listing does NOT let you know it faces the parking lot of Mike's Crab Shack(like literally that is the front yard view). On busy nights, there is a ton of people outside talking loudly, cars/trucks everywhere. There are NO curtains on the windows, just mini blinds that do not keep headlights out, nor the blaring sunshine at 4/5am. The kitchen is minimally stocked, so if you plan on cooking for large parties, be prepared to have to go buy items.
Heat/Cool is done by "minisplits". While this may seen a great idea, when our arrival night time temperature reached 19 degrees with the windchill, the house could NOT stay warm enough.
The yard upkeep is minimum. There are utility trailers parked beside the yard(the owners likely, but put up a fence, it's unsightly) and the grass was not taken care of around there.
We did have a breaker off when we went to use the dishwasher, and had to call the manager, who was responsive, and sent someone to go down in the basement...um that's a place you don't want to explore.
Pricing for our time period May 17-24th, was decent, but being honest about exact location would've made a difference considering what the occasion was. Exterior shows lots of rot, ruining outside photos.
4/5 Stars
We had a great time staying at the Garrison house. It was very comfortable for two families and had a well stocked kitchen. Location was great for exploring the area. Property Manager was quick to respond when we had an issue with locks on the bedroom doors. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent location in Wells & a beautiful house. We didn't even notice that we were near Mike's Clam Shack. The house had all the character of being older but was nicely updated. We loved the second floor - 2 bedrooms, a full bath and a living space - felt like it was a separate apartment (we couldn't even hear everyone downstairs). Kitchen had a large table for everyone to eat at. And we also spent a good amount of time outside on the patio using the grill. We traveled with kids, so we appreciated the mud room & 2 washers/dryers. Also a hose outside to clean off sand toys. We had a great time - highly recommend!
We absolutely loved this house. It was extremely clean and very spacious. The age of the house gave it tons of character, but it still had all updated and modern fixtures and amenities. We had an internet issue (as a result of a weather related power surge). The property manager was very responsive and was able to resolve the issue in a timely manner. Mike's Crab Shack is the restaurant near the house. This place was fantastic as well. Great location for trips to all of the southern beaches. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this property.
Old federal home completely and tastefully restored. Immaculately clean and spacious, located on Route 1 in Wells and close to everything. One word of advice: bring your own paper products (TP, tissue) and soap, because neither are supplied. However, there are lots of stores nearby to pick up the items you need.
This property was the cleanest, and well decorated house we have ever rented. Bedrooms were large, kitchen was large and up to date. Patio was perfect for relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay! Clean and beautiful house, well-equipped kitchen, nice towels and linens, convenient location, A/C, nice outdoor area with grill.
The only minor down side is that one of the bathtubs was partially clogged. But hopefully that will be fixed for the next guests.
We had a wonderful vacation. The house was beautiful. The town was beautiful. There are a lot of things to do with children. I would highly recommend this property.

The historic Garrison house used to be located across the street from Congdon's Donuts (1009 Post Road, Wells) was moved to its current location by the current owner to save a piece of history.
