Fantastic location!

Three of us stayed comfortably for an entire week. We did have a bit of 'front house' envy but throughly enjoyed our stay in the coach house. Staying on the Canals is a must if you are planning a trip to the area.

Very nice and reasonably priced.

This cottage worked well for my wife and son and I. We enjoyed the accessibility to the beach, and we took advantage of the bikes. The cottage was priced well below a local motel room with the added conveniences of appliances and modern laundry facilities.

Venice cottage

This is a great little place to stay for a couple. Comfortable bed, all you need in kitchen and bath. GREAT LOCATION! Easy access to the canals and the beach. Bikes, beach chairs and umbrella all provided. Good eating nearby, as well as the bike path all the way past Santa Monica. Will definitely stay again when visiting LA.

Great stay on the boardwalk!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights which was not long enough! This cottage was perfect for our stay, it was close to restaurants and cafes and only 3 blocks to the beach! The use of the bikes was fantastic! We rode them to the Santa Monica pier and to the harbour! Can't say enough about this cute little cottage! Would definitely stay here again!

Darling Cottage

My husband and I stayed here while visiting my son in LA. It was a darling, clean and very convenient cottage close to everything that Venice beach has to offer. We enjoyed the use of the bikes and rode up to Santa Monica for the day. The house has all the amenities one would want on vacation. I would highly recommend staying here.

Loved our stay

We were looking for an escape from the rain in Portland and found it in Venice Beach. The cottage had everything advertised: bikes, boats, canals,etc. My husband, 10 yr old son and myself were very comfortable in the cottage. We spent most of our time biking from Venice to Santa Monica, stopping along the way to play on the beach, the boardwalk and the pier. I loved walking along the canals and exploring the neighborhood near Abbot Kinney..very cool architecture. We even rode the bikes to In n Out so I could get my annual "fix". Carol met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend the adorable beach cottage!!!

Last week we spent time seeing the sights of L.A., using the Venice cottage as our home base. We are 4 adults (our daughters were with us). We were cozy, but perfectly happy with the trundle bed and the queen size bed. The place is so well decorated, but not huge. We didn't care, because we were busy every day. The Venice canals are right there and one can see very cool houses. The cottage is one block from the beach. We walked down there every morning, cutting down the "alley" behind the cottage, where garages and driveways are accessible. This cute place is clean, well-appointed, and a perfect location for all things Southern Cal. Good job, Carol!

Enjoyed our stay

The cottage is in a great location. Not on the Venice canals but the cottage is behind the house that is on the canals. The studio is small with a full size bed but full size kitchen. No need to cook because of all the great places to go out to eat! We did break one wine glass (not our fault) as the window shades hit the table that was set up by the owner. The owner took $10 out of our deposit so that was nice that we didn't have to take the time to go out and replace the glass. The cute little bath tub (shower) had a defect and the water went overflowing out of the drain on to the floor. I am sure the owner has fixed that by now.

fabulous little cottage

I travel to LA often for business. I love to stay in Venice Beach as it has easy access to LAX airport as well as the Pacifc Coast Highway, the 405, the 10, and the 90 freeways. Venice has its own funky vibe that makes my time there fun despite having to work hard during the day. Easy to reward myself after a hard day's work with sunset on the beach. A morning stroll for coffee to the Cows End Cafe or a paddle through the canals is the perfect way to start the day. There are TONS of great cafes and restaurants within walking distance or a quick bike ride away. If you want to venture further, a cheap few dollars Lyft cab ride gets you to an even bigger array of great foodie spots. Check out Roy Choi's SunnySpot or his super yummy AFrame in Culver City or stay close and walk to the oceanview open rooftop bar at the Hotel Erwin for cocktails and appetizers, AMAZING sunset spot! This little cottage is my new favorite place to stay! It is 1/2 block from the beach and sits behind a house right on the canal with easy access. There are 2 bikes and a boat available for use. Sadly, we didnt have time to use them this trip, but definitely will next time! If you are lucky enough not to have to work, there is so much to do here and this is the perfect spot to access it all. The cottage is small but there was plenty of room for my husband and I. The kitchen was super clean and had everything we needed to cook a few meals. The cottage was spotless and extremely well maintained. The design is light and beachy, very fun and comfortable too. The bed was sooo comfy. TV and internet worked great. Heating was from a small dish heater that surprised me with how cozy it kept us. 2 heaters might be necessary on a SUPER cold night, but that rarely happens this close to the ocean. The cottage is situated next to the driveway (the designated parking spot is a huge bonus here) and right on a street 1/2 block from the beach. The view is of the street, but the awesome ocean is right there and the serene and lovely canals are only feet away. Carol is super nice and very professional. She responded right away and seemed to really care about her guests while respecting our privacy at the same time. Thanks Carol for a wonderful stay! I adore this cozy cottage! Definitely will return, hopefully next time just to play!

Perfect location

Perfect location and nicely decorated room. We highly recommend this cottage. In our opinion it is suitable for 2 persons and not a family of 4 as we where. But the location is perfect close to the Beach and lots of nice restaurants closeby

Affordable! A perfect location

Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in this affordable, clean, perfect location with the comforts of a kitchen, laundry, wifi, and parking at no extra cost. My family of 4 stayed here for 7 days. We used it as our central base to explore LA. We didn’t actually enjoy the beach while we were there because it was too cool, but wow it’s perfectly located to walk to. We enjoy quiet so I found Saturday night a bit loud because you hear everything but the weekdays are quiet. I would definitely return.

Lovely getaway

Highly recommend a stay at this cottage. It's cute and clean. The owner is very responsive. We had some issues with the heat while we were there (chilly Nov nights!) and she was very quick to bring over space heaters to make sure we were comfortable. You can't beat the location - lots of fun places to eat nearby (make sure you try Baja Cantina!) and close to the beach. You won't be disappointed!

Had a wonderful stay in this very cute cottage in Venice! Kitchen was well stocked and beds were really comfy. We went for a boat ride on the canal and had a great time looking at all of the unique houses. The beach is one block away. We wished we had more time here. Thank you Carol!

charming place!

We enjoyed this cute, clean little efficiency apartment. Great detailed instructions left for us tenants! It was great to meet nice tenants (from Germany) renting the bigger house. It’s only one full room (besides kitchen/bathroom). Quick walk to the beach! The claw foot tub is a little shaky when standing in it for shower and the lamp needs to be replaced (no switch, makeshift tape switch). I would definitely stay there again! Thank you!!!!

Location,location, location!!!!!

If you are lucky enough to snag this adorable cottage you will not be disappointed! The location couldn’t be better. It’s only 1 block up from Venice Beach and the famous boardwalk where you can watch people in the skateboard park, grab a drink at The Venice Ale House or Whaler patio, check out Muscle beach or watch the sunset from the stretches of white sand beaches. This cottage is small but all we needed just the two of us. It’s attached to a larger cottage that faces the canals! What a great way to wake up, grab a coffee and go for a morning stroll along the canals. One of the best features of this cottage is it comes with 2 bikes to use. For us this was the best way to get around. It’s a very bike friendly place with bike lanes everywhere. You MUST take a cruise down to Santa Monica and check out the Pier. There is a bike path that runs the whole way along the beach. It’s spectacular! The kitchen was fully stocked, the bed was comfy and there was a cute little shared outdoor patio area. Thank you so much for an awesome stay! We loved it here and will be back in the future.

Great location

Stayed for 1 week in September. A perfect base for Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Made great use of the bikes to get around and as far as Manhattan Beach. Apartment was compact but was as expected. Everything provided for a comfortable stay. Only downside was as it was a shared outdoor terrace with the larger property (the large property overlooks the canals while the smaller property which we stayed overlooked the driveway). Although this downside is only down to personal preference. I would definitely recommend the property.

I live in the other cottage and I also own a few other rental properties in Venice. I bought this classic Beach Bungalow in Venice and remodeled it from top to bottom, filled it with designer furnishings and had no vacancies! I tried to produce a space that people would feel happy in. Everything is new, clean, light and bright with a beachy vibe and cheerful feeling.

Why they chose this property

Venice is an incredible California experience and the Venice Canals are the best Venice has to offer. You are one block from the beach and the Venice Boardwalk; walking distance to the Venice Pier and fabulous restaurants and boutiques in Venice and Marina Del Rey. This particular property is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes so that gives you a feeling of both security and pride of ownership in the neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

2 Beach Cruiser bikes + use of shared boats (red Canoe and Blue Row Boat) to use in the canals, beach chairs + towels, plus outdoor eating area with BBQ shared with other cottage. You can walk along the Venice Canals and go to breakfast at Joni's Coffee Roasters or Noah's Bagels or stop in at the corner Starbucks. It's a healthy lifestyle where you'll be encouraged to walk or bike wherever you go- like the weekly Farmer's market. Sunbathing, Sailing, Biking, roller-blading, surfing, gallery hoping, shopping, celebrity watching, you name it, we've got it here in Venice. Public transportation is just 1/2 block away. It's a very peaceful neighborhood but all the action of Venice is just minutes away. Check out the sunset every evening at the pier then go to the Baja Cantina for your after sunset margaritas- or Coldstones for ice cream, then walk home!! Or go to the 3rd street Promenade in Santa Monica and the brand new Santa Monica Place mall for movies, restaurants, and some of the best shopping in LA. Take your kids to the Santa Monica Fun Zone and Pier after a day at the beach, then eat at Bubba Gumps- a family friendly restaurant on the Pier. Do not miss a ride on the famous Carousel on the Pier, the very same one featured in many Hollywood movies including 'The Sting' starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
