Lots of privacy! We and our dog really enjoyed the peace and privacy of this place. The view of the lake and mountains was amazing. Thank you, Elizabeth, for a wonderful stay.
Another wonderful week at this beautiful camp! The house is large and comfortable, and clearly has been well loved and enjoyed through many generations. And the boathouse is a gem, with several boats, a bed, a refrigerator, and toys for the children. We love this place and can't wait to return!
Lovely week at Bishop’s Camp. Liz was great and her caretaker, Calvin, was very helpful. Rustic but absolutely perfect for our family and dog. Would come again!
The property is very nice and the pictures don't do it justice. Very relaxing environment, both inside the camp and down at the boathouse. Wonderful wrap around porch in which to enjoy morning coffee, or even better down on the dock. Full size washer/dryer was wonderful. Overall, a very relaxing environment in which to spend time with family.
Our family of 6 adults and 2 children really enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and well appointed. Being older, it’s somewhat dark inside, but it has a wonderful wrap-around porch which was great for reading, playing games, sharing meals, etc. Access to the lake is across a little-traveled road. Fabulous large boathouse with everything you could want — including a refrigerator!
We loved this property. It was not only an authentic Adirondack camp, but is also a piece of history making it even more special. I would describe the home as rustic with a lot of character and clearly enjoyed by present and past owners for more than 100 years. We spent a lot of our time at the boathouse enjoying the beautiful view of the lake and mountains with our morning coffee and evening beer. The canoe and small motor boat were a nice touch, and we brought our own paddle boards as well. It was a great week and a successful birthday trip for my neice.
Wonderful all the way around. The perfect vacation for us! Boathouse and dock were awesome! All the modern conveniences with a legit old fashioned Adirondack camp.
We had an absolutely idyllic time at this beautiful place. Perfect spot right on beautiful lake Chateaugay, lots of fun in the boat house! Very comfortable beds and lots of of nice generous personal touches. We especially appreciate how welcome our dog was and we will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Elizabeth Bourne
This house has been in our family for 5 generations. We have been blessed to have made wonderful memories here. My family and I live outside of NYC - we try to spend as much time up at the house as possible, but with kids getting older and busier, we have some time we feel we can share our camp with others.
Why they chose this property
One of the best places on the lake. The property sits atop a hill and looks down onto the lake. The side of the lake gets more breeze (=less bugs) and wonderful sun sets. The boat house makes for a fun place to be with a long dock right on the lake. Great for an afternoon nap, playing darts or reading a good book in a rain storm. Rustic and elegant living. Great fishing, sunsets and stargazing from the dock. Peaceful and relaxing.
What makes this property unique
The side of lake the property is situated on as well as the boat house and dock.
