We had a great week at this cabin. Loved the cabin, views, fire pit, access to the beach...everything! Kids had the best time and it was the perfect place to continue our north shore tradition.

The view from this place is incredible! Unfortunately that's about where it ended. Checking in went as well as it could have. The phone number I was provided didn't go anywhere. Every step you take (with the exception of the basement) you get a loud creaking. The kitchen is not very well equipped.There was a decent gas grill that was brand new.Heed the warning about the steps and driveway. We were there in the winter so they were especially treacherous. Salt was provided.This is NOT a place to snowmobile from. You will need to trailer as there is NO trail access and there isn't anywhere to park your trailer.The mail reason for my low score is because of the cleanliness. There was dirt so thick on some of the screens, it clouded your view. Spider webs everywhere.With some TLC this could easily be a 4 - 5 star.

I take great pride in creating unique and memorable spaces for guests to enjoy. Casa del Lago has been thoughtfully designed with antiques, character pieces, and carefully chosen details that give the home a warm, inviting atmosphere while celebrating the charm and history of the North Shore.

I also spend time at my properties personally throughout the year, which allows me to continually maintain and improve them. My goal is to ensure Casa del Lago remains a comfortable, beautiful, and special place for guests to relax, explore the North Shore, and create lasting memories.

Why they chose this property

We chose the North Shore because it offers one of the most beautiful and unique landscapes in the Midwest. The shoreline of Lake Superior here is rugged, peaceful, and incredibly scenic, with dramatic cliffs, rocky beaches, and endless forest. It feels wild and untouched, yet you’re still close to wonderful small towns like Two Harbors and Duluth.

What we love most is the sense of tranquility. Guests can watch the waves of Lake Superior, enjoy the fresh air of the boreal forest, and experience spectacular sunrises over the lake. In the fall, the area becomes one of the best places in the country to see vibrant autumn colors. In the winter, the shoreline transforms into a quiet snowy landscape that feels incredibly peaceful.

At the same time, the area offers plenty to explore — hiking along the Superior Hiking Trail, visiting nearby state parks, exploring waterfalls, and enjoying local restaurants, breweries, and shops. It’s the perfect balance of nature, relaxation, and adventure.
