About the host
Hosted by Deborah Harvey
Some people spend a lifetime searching for a place that feels like home. We were lucky enough to be born into ours.
I grew up in Nelson County, deep in the heart of the Blue Ridge, where the mountains aren't just scenery — they're part of who you are. The ridgelines, the streams, the country roads, the neighbors who've known your family for decades — it all shapes you in ways you don't fully appreciate until you've been away for a while. When my husband and I had the chance to come back and raise our own family here, we didn't hesitate for a moment.
Our roots in this area run deep — generations deep. We know which trail rewards you with the best view, which winery pours something truly special, which back road is worth the detour, and where to find the kind of quiet that the rest of the world seems to have forgotten. Nelson County isn't a place we discovered. It's a place we've always known, and that makes all the difference in how we share it.
Three Springs Myndus was born from that love. We wanted to create a space worthy of this landscape — somewhere guests could arrive as strangers to the mountains and leave feeling like they'd found a small piece of something rare. A place with enough comfort to fully relax, enough beauty to genuinely move you, and enough room for the people you most want beside you.
When you stay with us, you're not just booking a rental. You're getting two people who are genuinely invested in your experience — neighbors, really — who want your time in the Blue Ridge to be everything you hoped it would be and then some.
We can't wait to share it with you.

Why they chose this property
This isn't a neighborhood we selected from a map or discovered on a weekend drive. It's the landscape of our lives.
The view from Three Springs Myndus looks out across the part of Nelson County where my parents and I were both raised — rolling ridgelines, quiet hollows, and the gentle geometry of an apple orchard that shaped my earliest memories. I know those hills the way you know a face you've loved for a long time. Every season brings something familiar and something new, and after all these years, that view still stops me in my tracks.
Three Springs itself was my parents' home. It carries their story in every room. When the time came to think about the property's future, converting it into a short-term rental felt like the most natural answer — a way to honor what it meant to our family while keeping it alive, cared for, and shared with others who might love it just as much.
My mother poured herself into this place in her final years. She developed the gardens with patience and intention, coaxing beauty from the mountain soil season by season. She decorated the home with the same care — choosing pieces that felt right, that belonged, that told a quiet story about a life well-lived in a place deeply loved. Her touch is everywhere here, and we wouldn't change a thing.
What we enjoy most is simply this: sitting on the deck in the early morning, listening to the stream below, watching the mist lift off the ridges where our family has lived and worked for generations. It is unhurried and completely ours — and for the time you're here, completely yours.
We hope you feel it too. We hope you find rest here, and beauty, and maybe something you didn't know you were looking for.
Welcome to Three Springs Myndus. Make yourself at home — because in every sense that matters, it is one.

What makes this property unique
There are mountain rentals with good views. There are quiet retreats tucked away from the world. And there are well-located properties close to everything a region has to offer. Finding all three in one place is rarer than you'd think.
Three Springs Myndus is that place.
The views here are not incidental. They are the whole point. From the deck, the Blue Ridge unfolds in every direction — layers of ridgeline dissolving into sky, the same landscape that has defined Nelson County for generations. Look out toward the west and you're gazing across the very hollows and hillsides where this family planted apple orchards, raised children, and put down roots deep enough to last a lifetime. It isn't a postcard. It's a living, breathing place that changes with every hour of light and every turn of season.
The quiet here is the real thing. Sitting on a private half-mile road with a mountain stream running below, Three Springs Myndus exists in its own unhurried world. No traffic noise, no neighbors crowding the view — just birdsong, moving water, and wind working through the tree line. Guests routinely tell us they forgot what genuine silence felt like until they spent a night on this deck.
And yet you are never far from anything. Wineries, breweries, and distilleries are minutes away. Charlottesville and Lynchburg offer exceptional dining, culture, and entertainment. Wintergreen Resort, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Crabtree Falls, the James River, and some of Virginia's finest hiking and biking trails are all within comfortable reach.
Most retreats ask you to choose between seclusion and access. Three Springs Myndus quietly refuses that trade-off — and that balance is what makes this place genuinely one of a kind.
