Fantastic property, from the minute you pull into the driveway. Excellent layout, loved the sun porch. The most well equipped kitchen that we've ever stayed in. Everything is labeled making it so easy to find things. The lake is gorgeous. Even though we didn't get out on it, you can still enjoy the tranquility right from the cabin. There's nothing like having morning coffee on the lounge chair in the yard with that view. Host was incredible to work with and answered any questions immediately. We will most definitely be back!

Very relaxing

Beautiful spot in the cove where there are no fast boats or jet skis. Nice quiet spot to relax and read a book or float in the lake. The area is also quiet, we found a couple areas to run and hike. Honestly, we did a lot of relaxing. The house is very clean and matched the description. The host lives next door, we saw her twice, she was very easy to deal with and respectful. Highly recommend!

A Beautiful Spot

The cottage is small, but very well appointed, everything you need is there. The view is gorgeous and can be seen from the living room, dining room and best of all the screened porch. We went kayaking and swimming and hung out on the dock and screen porch. It is great that the cove is a no wake zone, and people observed it, so quiet and peaceful.

It’s The View!

If you want a well-equipped, quiet, clean cabin with an extraordinary view of a lake, this is a great spot. The screened in porch, the landscaping, stonework, trees and flowers with green grass right to the water make it an idyllic setting. Owners were very responsive to questions. We’ll hopefully be back!

Beautiful setting, wonderful host

Updated and improved lake home in a beautiful setting, with lots of thought and effort put into comfort, convenience, form, and function. Pictures are accurate and tell the story. I love to cook, and the kitchen is very well stocked with all kinds of utensils, small appliances (3 ways to make coffee!). There was some unexpected repair needed. Beth was a gracious and responsive host. She arranged repair rapidly, and checked with us to see that things were working well. Could not have asked for more. I have many memories, pictures, and recordings of loons, owl, geese, and other wildlife that I will treasure for years....

Sweet Cottage

Overall a pleasant and restful stay. Good wifi, equipped kitchen, nice screened in porch. Perfect size for 2 adults. Figuring out the TV was complicated. Maybe we missed instructions? We didn't try the row boat because it was far from the dock and were told it had a leak. Nice kayaks! Several items to note for other renters: The listing doesn't mention steep stone steps from the parking lot to the cottage with uneven large stones to the front door. As we are well into our 60's loading in and out was a little tough. The plastic chairs for the fire pit were uncomfortable. One bed is very firm and the other is medium firm. Good bedroom drawer space and hooks. Plenty of pillows. Kitchen could use steak knives. Otherwise cookware was great and plenty of dishes. Very little dish soap. Some cooking supplies but not anything to get you through a week. (Bring spices, oil, condiments, coffee, tea, etc.) I don't recommend dining at The Common Man in Claremont. Very disappointing. We enjoyed the space, a little expensive for the location; town is a bit distressed with empty storefronts, limited shopping, things to do. Adding a decent fishing boat would be ideal and bring value to the rental.

I am so glad I booked this stay! Even in the off season, and with a drought, the lake was calming and beautiful. The home itself is incredibly cozy. Beth has taken the time to label everything so you can find things like towels or pans with ease. With a warmer day I was able to enjoy a book on the screened in porch. Perhaps the best part was how much my dog enjoyed the stay. At 13 he enjoyed roaming the yard on his long leash and dozing in the grass. Everything was also clean and tidy!Only 2 downfalls- Unfortunately due to the drought, I was unable to have a fire at night- but that’s on Mother Nature. There was also some heavy construction next door, but it never occurred early in the morning or late at night. It’s also the off season for being on the lake so not too much of an issue there either. Overall, I’m hoping to book this location again in the warmer weather!

Our stay at Beth’s place was perfect. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed sunsets on the dock over the lake! It’s a peaceful and quiet place, perfect for relaxing. When it was chilly we were still able to enjoy the lake from the windows in the living room overlooking the lake. Beth was very kind and brought us some squash from her garden which we enjoyed very much. We love to visit again!

Nice place to get away and get some rest. The bay got limited boat traffic which was nice. Being at the end of the bay sounds of other camps would echo a bit...but only occasionally.

What a cute cottage! We wanted direct water access for a simple and relaxing getaway, and this camp fit the bill. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable few days, even when the June weather was surprisingly chilly and damp. The location at the tip of a cove was quiet and peaceful. We especially appreciated the screened room, as the mosquitoes were ravenous. The stock of jigsaw puzzles kept us busy when it was too windy or rainy to be out on the lake. The cottage reminded me of the family lakeside camp of my youth, passed down through a couple of generations, but much better maintained and furnished.
Our dog found a sunbeam on the screened porch.
On a calm morning, the lake was lovely.

Scenic and quiet

This is a great location on the lake in a fairly secluded area, though there are neighbors. Very peaceful and quiet. The stone steps can be difficult to navigate for anyone with mobility issues. My wife and I both use canes and managed ok. Internet went out for a few hours (for the whole area it turns out) and most of the phone numbers listed don't work. We did get a reply back through VRBO messages after an hour or so. Everything was comfortable and as described. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful Lake Retreat

We had such a great time at the lake property. The cottage is just as pictured in the description, neat clean and very cozy. The host supplied everything we could need to have a comfortable week. The location was private, surrounded by woods, yet close enough to neighbors to feel safe. And it is situated within short drives to lots of fun attractions, like Queechee Gorge, Woodstock and The Vermont Country Store. Lots of good restaurants, too. We would plan on going back in warmer weather to enjoy the lake. Our dog also had a great time running around. Thank you!

Our family has been on Crescent Lake since 1982. My parents built a house then, about 13 years later my husband and I built a house and when the next door cottage became available in 2008, we couldn't resist......

Why they chose this property

We think this might be one of the best properties on the lake. Located in the cove it's quiet since it's a no wake zone of the lake.
But you get fantastic westerly views and beautiful sunsets.
It's just really beautiful and peaceful.

What makes this property unique

Just 2 hours from Boston it's a pretty easy drive. Close to ski mountains in winter and lots of fun activities on the lake in the summer. Screen in porch is a nice place to read and enjoy the view.
