About Beth Freeland
Our family has been on crescent Lake since 1982. My parents built a house then, about 13 years later my husband and I built a house and when the next door cottage became available in 2008, we couldn't resist......
Beth Freeland purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Beth Freeland chose Unity
We think this might be one of the best properties on the lake. Located in the cove it's quiet since it's a no wake zone of the lake. But you get fantastic westerly views and beautiful sunsets. It's just really beautiful and peaceful.
What makes this Cottage unique
Just 2 hours from Boston it's a pretty easy drive. Close to ski mountains in winter and lots of fun activities on the lake in the summer. Screen in porch is a nice place to read and enjoy the view.

Xmas stay at crescent lake
Quiet, peaceful getaway which is exactly what we wanted for Xmas. Cute little cabin, right on the water, we could not asked for a better trip. Owner was so easy to work with, she was away in another country during our stay and was still even easy to reach. Overall great trip and our pups loved it too!
A lovely three weeks
The cottage was just what we had hoped from the online listing. We love the White Mountains, but wanted to be in a quiet area with the small old towns we appreciate. We chose this because of its location on the lake in West-Central NH, loads of windows offering generous light in each room and simple decor. We avoid like the plague all dark rentals with lots of “cutsie stuff.” It was a bonus to face west for sunsets on the water.
As two people whose lives are heavily engaged in architecture, we were once again thrilled with the old, honest and sometimes magnificent buildings from early days of NH. Of particular note: the Meetinghouse in Ackworth (1810), the miniature and beautiful village of Stoddard, and the buildings from the 1840s in South Ackworth. On our way to see again two special towns in Vermont (Chester and Grafton), we discovered the stunning Rockingham (VT) Meeting House (constructed 1787-1801), a National Historic Landmark which is in beautiful condition and still used.
As for food, we did a fair amount of simple cooking at home. Best pizza of our lives at Village Pizza in Newport because of excellent crust. Wonderful atmosphere, hearty blueberry pancakes and good burgers at South Ackworth Village Store. Jeremy is the perfect choice for manager there.
We had a great Sunday afternoon reading and watching the boating at Sunapee Harbor and another lovely afternoon walking and reading by water at NH's Pillsbury State Park, discovered on the way home from the beautiful village of Washington, NH.
Our only suggestion is to replace the sofa, which is very low and saggy. Otherwise, thanks to our owner and her nice father for a very wonderful vacation!
Meticulously kept cottage right on the lake has modern, near new bathroom and kitchen amenities. Very clean and well-maintained property that comes with its own large dock, two kayaks, and a rowboat. A fire pit on the shore is surrounded by comfortable chairs with 2 more lounge chairs perfectly positioned on the lawn next to the dock. The view from the shore and cottage is Southeast allowing beautiful sunset colors every night. We ate dinner on the screened porch that literally hangs over the water. Don't miss this one!
Thank you for your kind review.... Im glad you enjoyed your visit
Everything was great! Cottage was well stocked. Loved watching the loons....lovely lake!
Wonderful vacation!!! Great find!!!
Tranquil, scenic, comfortable are just a few words that come to mind when describing the property. It had absolutely everything we needed and more. The lovely cottage has a wonderfully equipped kitchen with great appliances and a very nice bathroom (best towels ever!). The bedrooms were charming with comfy beds. We ate all out meals in the screened in porch that had fantastic views of the lake. The water was clear, clean, the perfect temperature for swimming and the loons were an added bonus! We loved sitting on the dock reading and having evening cocktails. We enjoyed exploring the lake in the kayaks and relaxed by the fire each night watching the beautiful sunsets across the lake. Beth and her dad were very welcoming. I could not have asked for a more relaxing vacation. The cottage is very reasonably priced! I can't say enough. Thank you Beth!
