You can hear and see the ocean from 2nd-row dog-friendly 3B/2B (~1,076 sq ft), elevated, one-level cozy beach cottage with easy beach access right across the street. Sleeps 6. Covered front porch with four rocking chairs. The cleaning fee includes all bed, kitchen, and bath linens, you just need to bring your beach towels. Be sure to add your dog to your reservation so the $75 pet fee will be added. High-speed internet, smart TVs/Rokus, and less than 2 miles to restaurants, grocery, playground, splash pad, dog park, music in the park, etc. Fully stocked kitchen for those who like to save a little money and dine in.

Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Put all used dishes, pots and pans back in their proper place once cleaned.
Place used bath and kitchen towels on top of dryer
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No more than 6 vehicles permitted on property. No RV parking. No parking in yard. No car maintenance (e.g. oil changes) or car/boat washing.
No smoking on premises. No parties permitted. Dogs should be on lease when not confined. Pick up and properly dispose of all dog poop.
No grills or anything flammable on decking. Grill provided can be used in yard away from house.

Very pleased! The property was very clean and well stocked! Access to the beach was great. Since it rained a lot on Saturday, we utilized the rocking chairs on the front deck; we could actually see the ocean! The only minor problems: the main bath shower & sink drained slow; the sink in the main bath had very low pressure; a little more toilet paper would have been nice. Other than that I would definitely stay again & highly recommend to others!

Great Vacation Spot

The home was extremely clean and well located. I’ve stayed at several Oak Island vacation rentals but this was the best set up of all we’ve stayed. I would highly recommend for anyone’s vacation stay.

The house was cute and fit our needs perfectly. Very well stocked, clean. Also, the landlord was very responsive and helpful! We did have an issue with the a/c unit and she was on it! She had someone out and had it fixed within 2 hours of reporting it! Great service!

We loved how close the house was to the beach access and how clean the house was. It was very spacious and we loved the front porch. The kids loved the house. The only thing we would suggest if you bring children with you is to bring some toys from home for your children.

Absolutely perfect!

One wk stay for retired couple and our labradoodle. Everything was perfect and true to the online description. House was clean and spacious- great deck and other outdoor space. Across the street from such a gorgeous beach and whole island is people and dog friendly. All the restaurants suggested by owner were soooo good. Access to beautiful beach could not have been better! Hope to return!

1st Time at Ruff Life

Couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Love this house right across the street from the beach. Especially loved the balcony with rocking chairs, spent a lot of time there reading and enjoying the ocean breeze. My dog loved the toys and treats there, and also loved lounging on the balcony. We will be back!

Family get together. My wife, my dog, and I stayed at the home. It was fantastic. Dog beds in every room and it had everything you needed for kitchen and bath. Our dog loved it. Will definitely plan on coming back again.

Perfect location on Oak Island. Steps to the beach, even good ocean views from the kitchen table for breakfast every morning. Whole house is dog friendly, and was clean. The front porch is fabulous for evenings and is has railings around it so our dog could go off leash while out with us. Expansive rear yard with plenty of "potty room". Great place!

Perfect beach stay for people and dogs

Thank you Amy!This house is a perfect place for dogs and people who love dogs. The house was comfortable and squeaky clean. I thought maybe a “dog friendly” place might have a dog smell. Not at all. It was one of the cleanest places that I have stayed. And my dogs were comfortable. My brother and his wife stopped by and they raved about the place, and said they would love to rent the house in the future.

Overall this property worked very well for our family.

We really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch. The green vegetation on the property was beautiful. We felt right at home. Good water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. A fair view of the ocean being second row. We would definitely consider renting again.

I am a full time human resource professional working to end hunger! My husband and I live in Raleigh NC and have four children and our adopted dog Boots who is the inspiration for our "Ruff Life" beach cottage.

Why they chose this property

We are North Carolinians and have visited about every beach along the NC, SC, and Georgia coast and it all pales in comparison to Oak Island, NC. It's by far our favorite! Its southward facing and wide beach provide gorgeous views, soft sand and lots of room to spread out. Everyone is so nice here and we find it very family, dog and turtle friendly! We are so blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to own a place at the beach and share it with friends and family. It's our hope that our guests get to enjoy this little slice of heaven and experience a "Ruff Life" you'll never want to leave!

What makes this property unique

Our location is perfect! just across the street from beach access, ocean views from inside and outside. No need to drive to the beach, just walk steps across the street. Lots of local restaurants and great grocery stores nearby. Music in the park! you couldn't ask for more.
