We had a lot of pros and cons. We stayed over Christmas and as soon as we walked in the kids were saying they wished we'd stayed home. The website stated the cabin would be decorated for the holiday and the "decorations" consisted of a door wreath and a pathetic little 5 ft tree. The first night there we all had to share the lower bathroom because the upper was running toilet water down on the bed below, which also put two kids on a couch. A plus here was that we contacted maintenance the next morning and they were there within 2-3 hours and had the leak stopped. The lower bathroom smelt of sulphur the entire stay and there is mold on the wood near the bath tub.Despite the mold, the cabin was very clean though, especially being one that allows pets.Being that we stayed over a major holiday, we did stay in to cook. There were a lot of kitchen supplies, however, several need replaced. There were several pans covered in rust. A minor complaint was that there was no salt/pepper supplied. Every place I've ever stayed in typically has this and we did not even think to look so we only had salt (that was supplied) to season with (which was our fault, just inconvenient). The pans that are not rusted were very cheap and the food stuck badly. The hot tub was nice! Very chlorinated. The TV is locked to add channels, no pin was provided that we could find. The beds were comfy! The driveway is in bad shape! Overall, I would not choose this cabin again. We've stayed in better.
Great property for a great price. Private and secluded. Plenty of room! Comfortable beds. Loved the hot tub under the porch— even on rainy days it was so wonderful to get in and enjoy time there. The cookware and knives and layout of the kitchen were great. The yard space and woodsy feel of the property was just right for our getaway— far from road house and no one close to the house. We loved the remote feeling, while still being the same distance from Hochatown as just about any other cabin we looked at.We had to call about a small issue and the housekeeping staff came out immediately and addressed it, and were so professional and fast.Having the laundry room right there off the main space was convenient. We came here with our family for a church camp/gathering and would definitely stay in this same cabin again. Would love to stay here again in the future.
