Exactly as pictured
This perfect house on Sebasticook Lake was everything the pictures present. We stayed for almost a week and will definitely book another week next year. One disappointing part of our trip was that the town of Newport had already drained the lake for the season on September 11 and there was not enough water to launch the boat. If you are staying here to boat and fish please call the town before booking. The property manager was very helpful and shared some lakes nearby so not was all lost.

Great stay on the lake!
Very much enjoyed my stay in Newport. The property was LOVELY and the decorations were very nice inside. The beds were also very comfortable. We had perfect weather the week we were there so we were able to enjoy all the outside amenities. I really liked that the property was tucked away but still 5 minutes from anything you need. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect place to celebrate retirement
This house is beautiful and restoration is modern. Very relaxing and comfortable. If you love the outdoors, this is a true treasure. Loved being on the lake and having the kayaks go straight in from the property was amazing. House is clean and stocked. Dave is a great host and reminds you of the need to wear life jackets and mindful to leash dogs because of the neighborhood bunnies. Chose this house for it's pure beauty, relaxing vibe and didn't mind driving to Acadia National park and Bangor for day trips. Can't wait to return 😊

Sugarmaple House
The house has a beautiful view of Sebasticook Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and fishing poles. The house itself is small but nicely renovated and comfortable. I would have liked more information about local attractions--hiking, restaurants--but the owners are not local. Everything was in good working order and we did not need to contact anyone.

Hi Guests! We hope you can enjoy our home we’re calling Sugarmaple Lake House on 2.5 acres of mostly open space with 260 feet of private waterfront. It’s been a dream of ours for years to have a quaint little retreat on a lake — in a very different kind of place than where we’ve lived for over 25 years now. My wife, Chantal and I are both from the West Coast — where we met — and where we currently reside with our little girl, Ysabel. We have recently sought greener, more remote pastures however and when we found this place gracing the shores of Sebasticook, we knew this journey had begun. If you look out onto the grass toward the lake and to the right, you will see our newly planted, young Sugarmaple tree that signifies this new beginning. While we have you enjoy this property, it is our goal to make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. Please take advantage of our kayaks and fishing poles for some lake fun and if you’re an ATV’er you’ve got the Moosehead Trail (AKA Four Seasons Adventure Trail) just 5 minutes away. Now if you’re here in the wintertime, then you’ll want to hit the slopes at Hermon Mountain, snowmobile across the lake (if it’s frozen) , or cross country ski on those same trails for a little more cardio.

Why they chose this property

It's an amazing property on an amazing piece of land... a huge lawn that meets the private shoreline where you'll find a private dock.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet. 260' feet of private shoreline, a firepit, a huge lawn to roam, and as private dock. Cozy rustic farmhouse style decor inside.
