The property was beautiful; the lake house was well stocked and clean and the check in and out was seamless. The Seavey's were wonderful to work with, and we will be back next year!
Everything was perfect, great place to relax and enjoy the many wonders of nature. We saw eagles, deer and other aminals. The fishing was great. We would recommend 100%.
Perfect Maine lake house! Hosts, Jim and Peggy, were easy to get ahold of and had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant! They made our first stay in Maine a wonderful experience! We enjoyed the fire pit outside and watching the ducks, geese and heron play on the lake. The coast was an easy drive of about an hour plus depending on where we were going. We would highly recommend staying at this cabin!
We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It had everything we needed and beyond to make our atay comfortable and convenient. The host had unexpexted extras. The Afterbite we found was especially helpful thanks to the hungry mosquitos.
This is the second year we have stayed at this beautiful cabin and we could not have had a better time! This is the perfect place for a family getaway. Cabin has everything you could think of needing. The owners were beyond accommodating and went above and beyond for our stay this year. Don’t second guess it, book this cabin! Just not on the weeks I want to haha
This is a nice place with a nice private outside area. Close to stores but with that quiet, peaceful feel. The owners are very nice, communication was good and we would stay again!
As we have done the past couple of years, we spent another relaxing and peaceful week at this wonderful cabin on the lake. The cove is home to some wonderful loons ho are almost always visible.
We enjoyed our stay in Newport. The cottage was beautifully decorated, had all the amenities and was right on the water yet close to town. There were nearby restaura nts, Hannaford and Walmart if you forgot anything. We loved being on the water to go fishing and kayaking. The location was very peaceful and quiet. We loved our time there and hope to be back next year.
We returned to this cottage again this summer and had another amazing, restful and fun week. Cottage was ready before official check-in. It’s pristine and has everything you need from kayaks to an extra toothbrush just in case. We enjoyed games, reading, swimming, campfires, grilling and kayaking. We are already booked for next summer!
This this vacation rental was beautiful inside and out. The host had all of the renters needs well thought out and responded quickly whenever we had questions. The aesthetics were beautiful the scenery breathtaking. Access to the water was a step away from the camp and we enjoyed that completely. Would definitely love to rent again in the future.
Beautiful well
Maintained property with all of the amenities imaginable! Our three teenagers enjoyed this vacation as much as
We did! This property met all of expectations and then
Some!! Thank you for sharing your
Vacation home with us. Sincerely, The Redder family
Love this property so much we returned a second time! My kids enjoy swimming right from shore and taking out the kayaks every day! It is so nice that the host has 5 kayaks, a paddle board, and a canoe so the options to get on the water are plentiful. The cove is peaceful! They also supplied us with firewood and kindling so we were able to enjoy a fire and snores many evenings. The house is incredibly clean and tidy as are the grounds. The kitchen has all supplies you might possibly need and they even had complimentary coffee to start us off! Upon arrival you won’t miss the entrance because Peggy has a beautiful sign marking the driveway! Lastly our family just loves that we all enjoy this place, even our teenagers! Peggy is a super host!
Our family stayed here in August for a week and it was one of the best
properties that we have rented using Vrbo. It is a beautiful setting & the owners have made it very accommodating for guests. The location was super convenient as a bonus. We enjoyed use of the beach & kayaks daily. We looked forward to our nightly campfires, waiting for a glimpse of the visiting heron in the lake grasses. It was a relaxing week & just what our family needed to slow down & reconnect.
Beautiful cabin in a peaceful lake. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were easy to reach and helpful with check in. Our family of 5 had plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out. The lake was quiet and kayaking and swimming were the highlights of each day. Our family highly recommends this cabin if you’re looking for some R&R and family time. Groceries stores and restaurants are close by for anything you need.
This is our second time staying at this location. The property is excellent. I found everything top-notch in the cottage. The beds were extremely comfortable.Jim and Peggy were great with updates and checking in on us to see if we needed anything. It was sad to see the issue with the seaweed or Lake plant growth or what ever they call it. I don’t know if possibly having a swim float that you could swim out to to swim would help, but we didn’t go in the water because it was so thick a few feet from shore. So sad about that., but we still had a great time.
This is our second summer coming up to this location. We love that it has kayaks to use and fully equipped kitchen and linens includes. The air conditioning is key for our family and love that our small pup is allowed to join us. The house was clean, organized, the waterfront location is perfect for a week lakeside. We have already booked for next summer! Thank you Jim & Peggy!
Stayed here 2 years ago and couldn't wait to come back. The cottage is really nice and cozy and is stocked with everything you can think of. Literally right on the water with 4 kayaks and paddle board for your enjoyment. Our Golden Retriever Buddy loved jumping off the dock chasing is ball and trying to make friends with the water fowl. The only downside was the weather but that's Maine for you.
My husband and I spent last week in the cabin. It is so beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the hosts left so many helpful things for us - coffee, soaps,TP, spices, and other essentials. It was our first time to fly to Maine, so it was very appreciated. The property is so tidy, and the lake is lovely. We enjoyed kayaking and watching the gorgeous sunsets. It feels like you're right on the water when sitting inside. The whole week was just wonderful. Thank you Jim and Peggy.

About the host
Hosted by PEGGY SEAVEY
Jim and Peggy have been married since 1985 and have made Newport and living on Sebasticook lake their home. Both grew up in the area, Jim in Newport and Peggy in the nearby town of Corinna. The lake has always been a huge part of Jim's life as he has lived beside it since he was a little boy. A lifetime of exploring on a boat or a snowmobile, Jim knows every inch of Sebasticook lake and all the history and stories to go with it! As a young man, he found a fixer camp of his own, Jim & Peggy eventually built a year-round home there. Together they raised a daughter with the same passion for the water and all it has to offer, that they have enjoyed for years. Peggy is an avid flower gardener and interior decorator, both of them share a passion for antiques, and Jim collects and restores old John Deere tractors and authentic and antique military vehicles. At this point in their lives, they are thrilled to have found a cottage that they restored together and get to share with other families so they too can make everlasting memories of time spent on this beautiful lake!
Why they chose this property
With both of us having the privilege of knowing this lake so well, we carefully sought out one of the most desirable areas of the lake and found the perfect cottage to meet the needs and desires of today's lifestyles while keeping the charms and tranquility of yesteryear.
What makes this property unique
Gorgeous sunsets, great beach for swimming, very private and quiet yet conveniently located to shopping and attractions, and meticulously maintained both inside and out.
