Stay here every year for a week of ice fishing and always a great stay. Such a cozy stay and simple quick access to the lake for a great time with family.
Once again we had a blast! Roody’s Black Bear Cabins have become our home away from home for our annual fishing trip. Always great stay and wonderful hospitality. Looking forward to next year.
The cabin was perfect for our trip in May. We came to Rockwood for a family vacation. The layout was open concept, newly painted, plenty of space for 2 adults, one teenager and a dog and fully stocked with everything we needed. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again!
Great spot! Cabins were clean and neat when we arrived, property was literally across the street from local store and restaurant, Kineo dock wasn’t even a mile up the road. This spot was ideal for our fishing trip. Highly recommend Roody’s Black Bear Cabins!

We had a great couple days! Little closer to other cabins than we thought, but it worked out. Easy communication and great location- central to everything rockwood.
Roody was a great host and was very responsive to our questions. The camp is located very close to the public dock on Moosehead Lake in Rockwood which worked out great for us! Will definitely go back!
This was such a nice little cabin, clean and had all the amenities we required. The hosts were very helpful when we couldn’t figure out how to work the AC. I would love to go again in the winter for snowmobiling, I think it would be lovely.
The cabin is the perfect location for your outdoor activities and so comfortable for relaxing at the end of they day. We will be back for sure. Super clean and comfortable.
This property is the best in Rockwood PERIOD!First let’s talk about location. It is right across the street from a restaurant and fuel. It is also right on an access road so you can get to the boat launch and trails right off the trailer The home or cabin is well supplied. Plenty of room. Great great location I cannot say enough!
The cabin was nice and clean. We could not access the wifi with the information given- name and password would not work. Other than that, it was clean and quiet!

So glad you guys had a great time but next time if there’s an issue with the Internet just call us and we will get it straightened out for you. We were staying in the camper. Had I known you were having issues I would’ve fixed it.

The location was great. Close but not to close. Could walk to the restaurant right across the street. Had fully equipped kitchen, so was able to cook one night. Will definitely go back. Thank you!

Easy in easy out. Everything we needed was there: dishes, pans, paper goods, towels , picnic tables, etc. really nice grill which was in very good useable condition. Firepit was a fun end to the day. Plenty of room for parking including our yak trailer.
Thank you
The property has some water issues. The floor was constantly wet. A puddle under the kitchen table kept forming even after wiping ; we nearly fell several times on the kitchen and bathroom tile floors. Our cabin was the last one on the sloped driveway, so not sure if the other cabins have this same issue. I put towels down to help from slipping. My suitcase was wet from being on the floor and was covered with mildew. I wouldn’t recommend staying here as we found it very dangerous. Of note, the owners did indicate the cottages are being renovated.

We apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay. About 2 weeks ago, we lost the hot water tank in that cabin and water poured out through the top of the tank and flooded that cabin. I changed the hot water tank and put in a new tank. We spent countless hours to clean up the water with shop vacs and drying out the floors. We almost canceled your stay so we could keep trying to dry out the camp. The other day, I thought for sure we had it dried out so we didn't want to cause you any inconvenience and cancel your stay. Looking back on it now, we should have canceled your stay and tear out the flooring and put down new flooring. After talking to someone today, the cabin is on a concrete slab and the water has no where to go and apparently it had gotten under the tiles in the kitchen, which is why it keeps seeping through. Just to let everyone know, we are currently tearing out the carpets and tile floors in cabin 3, and will be doing a thorough cleaning and putting new flooring down. Again, we apologize that the camp was not what you expected and we will do better next time.
This cabin was perfect for an ATV trip. It is directly across the street from the trail and there is fuel and food across the street as well. We traveled with another couple who rented one of the other cabins and we had a great week riding the trails.
