About this property

Blue Bear Cabin - EV Charger + Family Friendly!

Come enjoy everything Tahoe has to offer from the comfort of our cabin! Centrally located between downtown SLT and Myers, it is easy to get anywhere in the area. We have a brand new Level 02 EV charger*, fast WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen and grill, and Roku and board games to relax in the evenings. Our cabin is a perfect mix of modern comfort and mountain charm. Quick and easy access to Heavenly and Kirkwood plus neighborhood trails for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing.

The cabin is a classic Tahoe Chalet with an A-frame layout on the 2nd floor. We have all the modern amenities including a brand new washer/dryer, forced air heating with a Nest thermostat downstairs, and renovated kitchen and bathrooms. Wood flooring, exposed wood ceiling, and beams are original.

During the summer, we provide a portable air conditioner in each upstairs bedroom. These can be seen in the photos. We also provide floor fans in each bedroom.

*Please notify us at booking if you'd like to use the EV charger, so we can provide access. Cost is $10/night for each night of booking.
**We offer baby gates and a booster seat. If you'd like to use these, please let us know, so we can tell you where they're stored.

Guest access:
- Electronic keypad lock
- 2 cars maximum in the driveway (County requirement)
- Neighborhood road snow clearing is handled by the city. We recommend at least an AWD car and chains or snow tires in the winter.
- Driveway snow removal is handled by a private company when we get over 5" of snow. They will work around cars as best as they can. We also provide snow shovels.
- The house can get ice on the walkways and may require snow shoveling to get to the doors in case of large snow storms.

Other things to note:
This is a NO SMOKING property. No smoking is allowed in the house or on the property. Violators may have their stay canceled or be fined.

The County is very strict regarding short term rentals. In order to maintain compliance and to ensure you have an enjoyable experience, below are a few things to note.

- After acceptance of your reservation, you will be required to sign a guest agreement per County requirements. This will ask you to provide the contact information for each of your guests (phone number).
- We require that the booking guest provide a scan of their driver's license.
- No large parties or events. This home is located in a noise-sensitive neighborhood. We hope you enjoy the peacefulness, and ask that you respect the quiet that everyone enjoys.
- We have to two cameras mounted to the front exterior of the house. This is for the security of the property, and only the driveway and yard are visible.

Lastly, please be aware of our cancellation policy when booking. South Lake Tahoe has ever-changing conditions including wildfires/smoke in the summer and snow storms in the winter. We are unable to accommodate cancellations due to these, and highly recommend you purchase trip insurance in case you choose to cancel your stay.

Cozy cabin in a scenic neighborhood near SLT town center
First off, the cabin looks exactly like the photos! It's tucked away in a quiet/beautiful neighborhood not far (about 10-12 minutes) from the town center. It was a lovely place to stay and to get away from the bay area. Julie was a great host, very communicative and pointed us to a couple of great vista points in the neighborhood. For people who enjoy nature and a change of scenery, we would choose to come back again and stay during the summer as well. The cabin was clean and pretty well equipped along with strong Wifi. As expected, it was pretty cold at night and the heaters and fireplace worked well to keep us all warm and cozy throughout the night. Julie let us know there was an available pack/play there (very kid-friendly) and it worked out well for our daughter. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The main bedroom on the 2nd floor had an awesome view and balcony access though a bit too much snow to hang out in, this time around. Bathrooms were clean and well-ventilated and we didn't even have to go out to get a hair dryer either. We went to Raley’s nearby to stock up on light groceries (talk about inflation!), it helped to have a lot of fridge space and a kitchen full of gear to make a full meal. We ended up making a salad and an apple bread pudding to go with one of our dinners. We had a wonderful stay there and thanks so much Julie, for the experience!

Great Host, great location
Host was very communicative. Place of stay is well thought out in terms of its design. All of the basic kitchen equipment are also available. One minor con is that some of the beds are a bit too soft upstairs. All in all though, I would stay here again!

a pleasant A frame cabin.
So, this is small quaint home. The property is near a nice hiking trail that leads to the upper truckee down a hill. The property is not really near the trout creek (?) which is shown in pics, but is actually down a ravine, that is quite pretty, but with close by trail. The kitchen is tiny and can only really fit one person but functional. Note there is a regular coffee maker and an expresso machine, but it uses the old style netexpresso cartridges that were not available in either of the nearby markets (Holiday or Ralleys). The home is a comfortable albeit not particularly spacious cabin for 3-4 member family. The house is located a short drive from the lake or Wadshoe park. The internet was good. The living room had two rather comfy big chairs. Overall, a pleasant cabin.
