NOTES
As mentioned, this property is on a private road. The speed limit on this road is 10mph—please be mindful and respectful of this. Rental is towards the end of the road, so it is very peaceful with little traffic. Road is PERFECT for biking, jogging, walking, etc.. Be sure to wave at all the neighbors on the way in!

Travel time from the main road to the property is approx. 20 minutes.
We highly recommend bringing your groceries and supplies with you—going to the stores can be time consuming due to the private location of the property. Spend your time enjoying the lake instead!

A boat lift is provided for V-bottom boats that weigh 4000lbs or less. If your boat does not meet this criteria, you may launch and load at Long Point State Park. Due to unpredictable weather and the 2-3 foot waves that it can bring, tying of boats to the dock is not permitted. Broken boats and docks are no fun and we know fun is the goal.

Smoking or vaping inside the property is not allowed. Feel free to smoke outside on one of the porches.

NO large or loud parties are permitted. The neighbors are lovely and kind people that are enjoying their friend and family time too. Small gatherings with your family and friends with reasonable and respectful music volume is highly encouraged!

Girls weekend
It was great! Comfortable…. Peaceful…..we really enjoyed sitting on the dock/ patio each night for sunset. We were out and about each day…. Wineries, apple festival, and Mac kensie Childs art show…. So coming back to the lake each day was perfect. Any questions we had Michael answered right away… we definitely look forward to doing it again!

Beyond Expectations!
I can't put into words how special our stay here was! The property has everything! Family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the cool, clear, refreshing lake with swimming, relaxing in the tubes and kayaking. Our dog has never been so happy, retrieving a ball in the water from sun-up to sun-down! The grill, covered picnic table and firepit were amazing...and the sunsets on the lake....ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! Our family now all wants this to be an annual trip! Thank you Melissa!

Lakeside
We had a good stay. It’s a great setup for multiple guests. We loved being on the lake and having inner tubes and kayaks available. We enjoyed the visiting ducks, watching all the activity at the birdhouse & eagles soaring overhead. Beware of tons of spiders in the evening around the picnic table. The long drive into the property is that, long, slow, mostly gravel & a single lane. The main house functions well and had all the modern amenities, but floors were “spongy” feeling near the main entrance, kitchen & one bedroom. If we planned another trip to this area, we would consider returning.

About the host

Hello!
We are Mike and Melissa, hosts of the Cayuga Cabana property in Aurora, New York.

We were recently introduced to the Finger Lakes region while looking for land to invest in. We had decided that we wanted to find a piece of property "away from it all". While Melissa was thinking West Virginia would be a good fit, Mike decided that New York State was the place to start. During our first trip, our goal was to find an acre or two to put a camper on. While in the area Mike saw a listing for a lakefront property he "just wanted to look at". Melissa, being the saint of a wife that she is, agreed to look at the house, even though it was not at all what they were supposed to be looking at and it cost a bit more than an acre of land. Needless to say, we fell in love with Cayuga Lake and our camper plans went right out the window! We did not buy that first house we looked at, but our search for the perfect place on the lake began that day. It took some time, but we finally found what we were looking for just south of Aurora.

When not making Dad Jokes, Mike works as a computer programmer for a logistics company. When not rolling her eyes at Mike's jokes, Melissa works at the family's small business.

Thank you for taking a moment of your time to read about us! We look forward to being your hosts!
