Spacious 5 Bedroom Lakeside Retreat in the Heart of Wine Country

This outstanding property easily accommodates 10 people in comfort with 4 King Bedrooms (Master has ensuite bathroom) and 2 twin beds in the 5th Bedroom. Two full bathrooms on the 2nd floor with a first floor full bath attached to the master. The kitchen is large and has all the amenities that you will need. The laundry room is perfect to dry your swimclothes and beach towels.
Three window airconditioners assist keeping the home cooler. One in the master, one in upstairs hallway and one in the family room. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan as well as the family room and kitchen.
Enjoy the wrap around second floor deck or relax on the front patio or the huge dock. Take a swim out to the raft or launch your kayak or canoe from the beach. Go skiing or wakeboarding or fishing from your own boat which is easily accommodated on whips on the dock.
Enjoy an evening campfire on the beach or relax in front of the fireplace!
There is ample outdoor space for the kids to run around or throw a ball. The outdoor grilling area is large and there are several picnic tables available to serve large crowds.
There are multiple vineyards to visit within a few miles of the house by car or by boat.

Wonderful lake house for a family reunion

We had a great time at this house! It’s hard to find a big house with king beds and this had 4 so that’s why we picked it originally. The kitchen and living areas were spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The outdoor patio was also very nice but did need a little hosing down when we got there, which was easy to do. We loved the dock and fire pit as well. We rented a nice pontoon boat which was easily docked. The owner was very responsive any time we had a question. I would definitely go back here again.

Superlative weekend retreat

Wine country vacation

We had a wonderful time staying with family in this lake house. We spent our time on the dock, floating in the lake and kayaking. Even with all of this, we still had time to hit the wine trails, discover great places to eat and enjoy great music at the Cider House. The owners were very pleasant and eager to answer all of our questions.

Girls weekend

The house and property were a great fit for our family with our range in ages. location to grocery store was really good. water was plenty deep for boats and yet had a beach for little ones to walk out.

Best Lake House

This lake house suits our family perfectly. We like the great kitchen which is fully supplied, the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, the big dock for fishing and tie up for our 2 jet skis and the nice campfire area. We appreciate the owners allowing us to unload our cars by using their driveway to get closer to the rental house. We found that this is the best house to rent on Cayuga Lake!

Enjoyed it very much, we would have preferred less stairs but that did not reduce the great stay that we had. We swam and rented a pontoon boat and spent most of the week on the water or the deck of the property. Owners were very pleasant to work with and took great pride in the property.

Great lake house

We love this lake house and plan on returning next year! We love the nice dock for fishing and jet skis, great bedrooms with king beds, a well stocked kitchen , big enough dining table for 11 of us, outside porch area for lunches outside, wonderful campfire area with lots of chairs, nice beach area for water entry for our little grands, nice grill for grilling, and the use of the driveway next door to unload all of our stuff!

Wonderful grad weekend

We had family coming in from different places for graduation, and this home provided a fabulous resting place for all. Bedrooms and bathrooms were terrific - even nicer than the pictures !, bathrooms had clearly been renovated and were great for our large crowd of 8. Kitchen was stocked with every type of cooking need ( and we did a lot), and beautiful like setting - seen from every window - was stunning and tranquil. We had a terrific time!,

Wonderful family get away

Holly – thank you so much for sharing your wonderful lakefront home with our family! We had a spectacular time. The large dock was literally always occupied either by someone reading a book, fishing, sunbathing, or sitting with a glass of wine enjoying the view! The boat lift worked great – renting a boat was such a bonus. The water was warm for waterskiing and tubing. Everything about the house itself was perfect – clean, well appointed, beyond fully stocked – down to parchment paper to bake our cookies!! With 4 of the upstairs bedrooms facing the lake with a balcony deck, everyone was decidedly pleased with the arrangement. The firepit area was well supplied with chairs. The kayaks and canoe were fun to take out as well. The wineries/breweries in the area were great. Watkins Glen & Taughannock Falls hikes were among the highlights of the week. Muranda Cheese Company, Finger Lakes Cider House were memorable outings. There was a cute farm stand down the road which kept us well supplied with corn & blueberries. Overall, great family trip. We all hope to be back next year. Holly was a great hostess. She answered all questions and was very responsive to a midweek issue that arose. Overall, I would recommend this rental to anyone who wants to fully enjoy the Cayuga Lake experience!!

Full Disclosure

The house is large & mostly well kept, and the owners (next door) were very nice, BUT the listing is misleading on 2 key factors, and they weren’t disclosed until after the second payment which made it non-refundable. First, it does not have central air. We always filter on the ‘air conditioning’ tab & this said it had it. There is one ailing window unit in the master bedroom & 1 in the upstairs hallway (yes-hallway- not sure how that is supposed to help). We would not have considered this listing if we had known there was not central air- especially for the price. Secondly, they did not disclose that from the parking area to the house was down at least 60 steps. Their photos specifically don’t show the staircase. One guest had limited mobility and wasn’t able to navigate them. Kindly, the owners let us use their (very steep) driveway, which was only possible with a 4 wheel drive vehicle, luckily ours was. VRBO only works if people are truthful so you can make an informed decision. This is a nice house, with a great dock, and nice touches like a well stocked kitchen & the Keurig cups they provided, but we would have preferred full disclosure before we made our vacation house selection.

Holton Beach Retreat

Our family of 9 (7 adults and a 10 and 6 year old) had a wonderful 4 night stay at Holton Beach Retreat. The property is all about lake and sky. We took a rented boat fishing, to wineries, parks, and had a blast tubing in the 650 water. We hiked gorges, ate meals on the patio and at the huge dining room table, played our lawn games, kayaked, jumped off the dock and swim platform, and skipped an endless supply of stones. The kids especially loved the freedom of the water.Nearly every room faces the water. Four bedrooms and two baths up plus a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor were ideal. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and well stocked, especially the kitchen. Jugs of drinking water, a working grill, and kayaks/canoe with paddles were appreciated. We didn’t find the life jackets in the master BR closet until we packed to leave, but the kids had brought their own. The TV and Internet worked fine.Holly’s communication was great and driving directions were precise. The 70 steps up to our parking area were not a problem but we were grateful to be able to load/unload our cars at lake level next door.A few suggestions to consider bringing: kids life jackets that fit, a small grill scraper (we didn’t use the metal brush), water shoes to protect from sharp zebra mussels, and eye shades if you don’t rise and shine very early.Thank you Holly for sharing your fun house in such a beautiful area.

5 couples enjoying Finger Lakes long weekend

We came from Central PA and Canada to spend the weekend with friends. We enjoyed the Barbecue at Finger Lakes Cider House, a wine tour with Grapevine tours, hike at a few state parks and enjoyed the house and fire pit. Great gathering space. Well equipped kitchen. Lake House for a wedding weekend

We had a wedding nearby and this lake house accommodated 9 of our family so we could be nearby for all of the events. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake with swimming and kayaking and the views were beautiful. The house had plenty of room and a large stocked kitchen. This is our family cottage. My sister and I manage this property for the family. We have been renting it for the last two years when the family is not using it. My husband and I have a cottage next door.

Why they chose this property

We have been on Holton Beach for the last 50 years. We love the lake because we sail, kayak and canoe. The lake is generally quiet (not alot of motor boat traffic)

What makes this property unique

Ithaca and the parks are 15-20 minutes from our cottage. There are many wineries, distilleries and cider mills in the areas. At the top of our road is the Cayuga Creamery which makes the best homemade ice cream in New York State.
