This is a nice option for exploring Brown County and you like camping but not the hassle of having your own camper to set up and take down. The surroundings are very nice and scenic countryside. This was close enough to Bloomington that we stayed here for graduation, away from the frenzy in town.
We spent a couple nights for some one on one time with one of our grandson. We enjoyed the location. It was peaceful. We enjoyed cooking on the fire and we enjoyed the site and the surrounding. Peaceful. Pleasant.
The trees and property were very nice. But, I have to say the water was a bit gross. Very swampy and dirty. Could use some clean up. Overall, very quaint cabin. Close to Nashville shops. Great affordable location.
We visited during the week so it was very quiet and secluded. Beautiful, private spot on the water. I would take extra blankets, trash bags, soap, etc. as if camping should we visit again. .Also, check out includes a request to remove ashes from the fire pit, which was difficult without a shovel. Otherwise, great trip if you want to be alone in the woods.
We booked a cabin for 4 nights. When checking in you can see the lake is more a swamp then what the pics look like online. The cabin was extremely small and I felt like I was Snow White in the 7 dwarfs house but they likely had more room. The cabin said it had A/C but the loft was hotter than outside. It was over 80 degrees still at bed time and our kids couldn’t sleep. When we asked about the loft being so hot the front desk was like ya they shouldn’t sleep up there, they should sleep on the floor. So we are paying for a loft for the kids to sleep on the cramped kitchen floor and hallway. Even then the downstairs was pretty hot.
We ended up getting a storm that knocked out the power the first evening so between the A/C barely working it was dying in there. We then had no power so no lights and A/C the next morning and were already miserable. We decided to check out. However, the staff was unavailable. No one in the office and since the power was out zero reception. We still packed up and went to a cheap hotel for the remainder of the trip to try and salvage the vacation. It took a few days to get ahold of the staff and they refused a refund and tried to give us 1 day free (mind you we lost 3) for a future date. We wouldn’t want to come back even for free! That is how bad this experience was. Please save your families money and go somewhere else. Don’t get fooled by the cheaper cabins, you are getting LESS than you for.
We had a great stay! Great location close to Nashville. It is a very basic cabin, small but everything you need. We had very hot and humid weather so sitting out on the back deck was miserable a couple nights so not having a sitting area inside was a bummer. Otherwise we enjoy the back deck a lot. Air conditioner worked fantastic, thankfully!
I had an emergency and had to cut my stay short. The staff was very understanding and kind. The time we had in the cabin was fantastic, very clean quiet and relaxing. Even with the weather being a bit chilly and wet we had an amazing time. Felt right at home in the deluxe cabin.

Property owners were incredibly pleasant and helpful, even allowing us to check-in early. However, the property was less than expected. Beware there is no common area or living space; no couches, no TVs, no closets for clothes, no oven, and the property is not as secluded as appear. Busy road is visible, as well as multiple other cabins. Not ideal space for family treat. We left a day early.
All in all it was a nice cabin but definitely could of used a better cleaning. There was trash and clothes under the beds upstairs and they need to spray for bugs inside and outside of the cabin. We had an ant problem in the kitchen. The price was cheap so I wasn’t expecting much.
This cabin is the perfect size for our family of four and our two little dogs. The view of the water is beautiful and the walking trails led to great adventures and a very friendly donkey. We will definitely stay here again.
It was a cute little cabin and a beautiful view. We brought our small dog. The stairs to go up to the loft were too steep for her so we mainly just stayed down stairs. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. It is more of a place for summer time rather than when it is cold as there isn't much to do inside besides lay in the bed. But we still enjoyed ourselves. We would stay again and bring our son next time. Most likely stay again when it's warm out.

Cabin was tucked away and very quiet next to a fishing pond. It had everything we needed for a deluxe camping experience. The bed was firm, but very comfortable. (Maybe Zinus foam?) The temperatures got down into the low 30's while we were there, but the cabin stayed toasty. Also, plenty of hot water. We did not use the beds in the loft, but they appeared to be spring mattresses.
With no service I was not able to view the check in process. There were candy wrappers in the upstairs bedsheets and we had no place to put our luggage. The beds upstairs were uncomfortable compared to the bed down stairs and there were no dressers. We did love the view and the style of the cabin. The bathroom was perfect and so was the kitchen. For the 3 day stay it was good but any longer I can see problems.
This place was very simple. If you go expecting fireworks you’re going to be disappointed. Everything was small but with two kids and my wife and I we didn’t need much. The lofted upstairs was great for the kids. The only major con for us was we brought our two rather small dogs. The staircase was very steep. It would have been nice to have a small baby gate to keep the dogs off of the stairs. We had to use luggage and other stuff to block the stairs while we’re gone. The upstairs beds were perfect for the kids. Downstairs bed room was good for my wife and I. The bed was very firm. It was a nice couple of days in the woods away from the chaos of the rest of the world.
Absolutely loved this property! It was the perfect weekend getaway with our family! Cabin was adorable and comfortable, setting was beautiful and private, and the fishing was good!
Recommend to bring extra towels and blankets for your own comfort but everything was clean and nice!
We plan on going back for sure! Also the campground where the cabin is located is a complete gem!
