Clean and well organized home. Had everything you needed and more. Extra space for your belongings, extra hooks in the bathrooms, shampoos, conditioner, bodywash that smelled wo nderful. A nice gift of wine and jam with a sweet sign welcoming us. Easy to find home. Beautiful views.
Beautiful house with perfect furnishings and supplies
We loved this place and had the best time. The kitchen and bathrooms are perfectly supplied and comfortable. Each piece in the furnishings is art! We hope to be back!
This place is an absolute gem! It’s a beautiful home perfectly situated in the mountains. Our family felt very comfortable and right at home during our Christmas vacation. The house had everything we needed for a week-long retreat. The mountain views were stunning, and we enjoyed visits from wildlife each morning and evening on the patio. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, providing a relaxing retreat at the end of each day.
This was an awesome place to stay. The house was well decorated with all your necessities. The beds were very comfortable. There are plenty to do in and around the property. Beautiful views and peaceful setting. Plenty of wildlife to view, just from the front porch, while sitting in the rockers, drinking your morning coffee. Absolutely loved it!
The location is excellent. Remote yet close to town. The scenery on the way in is just beautiful. The property the farmhouse is on is gorgeous. You automatically relax upon arrival. We spent so much time on the front porch enjoying the view and being visited by so many hummingbirds. At night we would make a fire, watch the sunset and be mesmerized by the copious amount of fireflies. So many it looked like Christmas lights in the trees and meadow. The house is clean and well equipped. Spices, sauces, cookware all ample.Ann & Dave are gracious hosts. Highly accommodating, approachable and friendly. We hope to come back again for yet another magical stay.
This home is beautiful. Pictures do not do the home and surroundings justice. Unfortunately we picked a bad weather week that the owners obviously had no control over. Fortunately we had a beautiful home to watch Himmingbirds and room to spread out and play gameswatchHummingbirdon and room
Ann and David have created quite possibly the most beautiful farmhouse I've ever seen within minutes of Sparta, Independence, and West Jefferson. Every room seems to feature another vibrant painting or unique piece of pottery to highlight the comfortable mix of modern and country furnishings. The master bed was stacked with pillows and a fluffy duvet and absolutely heavenly!
We loved the ping pong table and family room for games and puzzles. The views at sunrise and sunset are stunning.
We also appreciated how close to several towns you are. Shopping, restaurants and sightseeing are just minutes away.
We highly recommend Meadow Farmhouse.
This house was perfect for our family stay in the mountains. It was impeccably clean with rooms that were warm, inviting, and drenched in natural light. My sister checks for bedbugs everywhere she stays and the house passed with flying colors! There were games for the kids and our host even left them some cookies. Instructions and expectations were clear and reasonable. The views from the lighted deck, covered patio, and each and every room were to die for. Our host’s communication was second to none despite a challenging week following the devastation of Helene. Our only regret is not having more time to enjoy this enchanting property. We will DEFINITELY be back. Book it now!
We had a wonderful time for a long weekend girl's getaway! This property exceeded our expectations. It was one of the cleanest rental properties we've ever been to. Even the outdoor carport was free of spider webs and debris. There were many outdoor spaces we enjoyed; the carport with ping pong, hot tub and gas fire table. The yard for cornhole and walks exploring; the deck for one of our evening meals with a beautiful sunset! The front porch for reading or just taking in the view.
Inside, the beds were all so comfortable; the linens luxurious! So many little details to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.
There are 2 seating spaces - one with a TV (which we never used) and one with a gas fireplace which was cozy when we first arrived as it was rainy and cold.
The kitchen table was a great place for us to gather for meals and games. The table felt high compared to the chairs - which had small cushions, though we found the cushions a little small for the chairs. The kitchen is well-appointed with plenty of dishes and cookware and has an open plan so you can converse with those at the table while cooking.
There are 2 full bathrooms downstairs in separate areas of the house - one in the king room and one off one of the seating areas with laundry area. There is only 1 tiny half bath upstairs for 3 bedrooms to share, but it worked out ok as you really only need that to brush teeth or use in the night. Otherwise, we all just took turns using showers downstairs.
Loved it!
7 of us visited for a 3 day weekend. Chose this place for the views and mountain experience. Did not disappoint. The house is right off the road with beautiful landscaping, surrounded by corn and cows. Plenty of room for people to space out and enjoy some down time.
The house is as expected. One bedroom was a bit small, but worked fine for the single sleeper. Great view from the anterior room upstairs. All kitchen necessities present. The hot tub seemed very clean. Unable to use the gas fire pit (maybe user error) but had a nice fire in the wood pit. Other games available in and outside, as well. Nice, clear view of the sky at night. We got to enjoy the sunset over the mountain.
The winding roads and varying crops/livestock give plenty to look at on the drive in. Though the closest town, Sparta, is teeny, it had enough to do for the day. We were lucky to come the weekend of the bluegrass festival, which was nice to see. We ate at the Muddy Creek, taco truck, and pizzeria. All good experiences. Surprised to find a tienda with great supplies for homemade tacos. It pretty much shuts down on sunday. Elkin is a larger town about a 50 minute drive from the home with a few wineries along the way. We stopped at 2 that were friendly and had fairly good wine. Elkin has a brewery with good food for lunch. We went on Sunday so missed some of the shopping that may be available other days.
Overall, a great location. Highly recommend for a quiet, off the beaten path stay.
We came as a family of kids, parents, and grandparents looking for our annual Christmas trees. House was in an excellent location and was so clean. Great views. Quiet location but not far from Galax, Sparta and Independence. Felt like home. Very responsive and helpful host that recommended places to eat and get a tree. We will be back.
What a lovely farm house! The owner's have thought of everything from beautiful furnishings, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of outdoor activities under the covered back porch, a hot tub, kayaks, toiletries, nice towels and linens. And that's just the inside. The views are spectacular with mountain ranges and rolling farmland. We watched the field across the street as it was mowed and the hay baled, the local farmers harvesting and hauling pumpkins and tobacco and heard the occasional cows calling at feeding time. The hummingbirds were busy at their feeders, too. Can't wait to stay here again. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful, homey, peaceful place.
This fabulous vintage mountain home is not only clean, well stocked and so beautiful, it has the feeling of home, a peaceful atmosphere that just makes you want to be in a simpler time and place. This home is very beautiful inside and out .The views from all around the property are just icing on the cake!! You can tell that this home is loved and enjoyed by the owners! What a privilege that they share this gem with others!
What an excellent property!
Very clean, almost looks brand new. Great views, awesome amenities (fire pit, ping pong table, great wifi, flat screen tvs) and such a peaceful retreat. You will literally hear nothing but birds chirping in the wind blowing through the trees when you sit outside!
We would definitely stay here again!
We had an absolutely amazing time
Visiting the area. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. Communication was great with the owner, they made us feel welcomed and appreciated. This is our new go to place when in the area. We are truly looking forward to visiting again in the fall.
Anne and David are excellent hosts. Their home was a blessing to all of our families including 2 dogs that made this Christmas a special time of sharing with each other their beautiful home, NC mountains, and crisp cool starry skies. We enjoyed all as we took time to share God's best gift and that is His love and Son, Jesus! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
Amazing stay! Loved the home; cute, clean, nicely decorated. It was in a great location out in the country with amazing views and proximity to fabulous hiking at Grayson Highlands and Stone Mountain. Plenty of room for our grown family to meet up and spend time together. Stars at night by the fire pit were so awesome!

We were so happy to be able to host you and your family for Thanksgiving! Thank you for staying with us. And yes, the stars at night are amazing, I'm always in awe!
We had a wonderful time here! The house is beautiful and very clean!
We came to this beautiful farmhouse for a quick family getaway before our sons surgery to help him relax! Mission accomplished! We had the best weekend here! It rained on Saturday and gave us a chance to enjoy the dart board and just have family time under the car port! We went to Tweetsie Saturday evening and the rain had stopped and the weather was perfect! We would love to stay here again! Ann was a gracious and kind host! - Teresa
