The modern conveniences of The Little House sharply contrast the old-fashioned construction. Original rough sawn ceiling joist are exposed, with the builder's layout marks clearly visible on the ceiling highlight the main living area where you can relax on the sofa. Along with the flat-screen TV, scorching fast 1 gigabit per second fiber internet (1000 Mbps) is available for streaming.
The space
After a day of exploring the mountains or desert around Escalante, wash the trail dust off in a warm shower and let your muscles recover during a peaceful nights rest on the queen size bed. Open the windows at night to experience the 30-40 degree cooldown from the warm temperature of the daytime and the night sounds of a rural community. View the expanse of space from the back patio. When hunger strikes, the well-equipped kitchen boasts a to-scale fridge, range, microwave, sink, and plenty of dishware, so it won't be a struggle whipping up some of your favorite recipes in this small space. Super cosy cottage in a friendly peaceful little town. Some advice for renters - don’t bring too much food, there isn’t a great deal of storage space and there are plenty of places to buy food in town. Clothes storage - there are some coat hangars but nothing else, so again, travel light. But apart from those comments we would totally recommend the house to others, it was very well equipped, comfortable, clean and peaceful and a short walk to a great restaurant on the main road in a sweet super friendly historic town.

The little house

It is a wonderful studio house! Loved everything about it. Was able to stay warm with the extra space heater ( got down to 22). Definitely would stay here again.

Little”Big” House

As we traveled the west visiting National Parks the Little House was Big on accommodating on our needs. A beautiful stay at the Grand Staircase! Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend to others.

Host is the best

This was our second stay at the little house, our host Melani, is great. The house is clean and exactly as advertised. Melani even gave us produce from her garden and apple tree. Best place to stay in Escalante!

Home away from home

Early Spring trek to Grand Staircase

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful two nights at the Little House. We had everything we needed and Melani was great to provide a heads up on the access to the local grocery store since we came in late on a Sunday. Enjoyed hiking to the falls near Lower Calf Creek and would book again for sure. If you are lucky enough to get a taste her cookies, they are amazing. :) Walt Hammett

Quaint, historic home

The Little House has to be one of my favorite stays in a VRBO. The quaintness, the decor, the history, and the superior cleanliness of it all make it such an enjoyable experience! It is a very clean space and well taken care of. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. The bed is comfortable and there is space to spread out and relax. The owner immerses you with the story of the history of the place and it just makes the whole experience more like an "experience" than just a stay in a VRBO. We had a question to ask the owner and she got back with us immediately with great suggestions. If we are ever through Escalante again, this will be the place we hope to stay in!

Cozy retreat after a day at the National Parks

This "little house" was just right for my husband and myself. We stayed after hiking around Capitol Reef National Park and then spent another day hiking around Grand Staircase Escalante NP. The kitchen was well stocked to be able to make our breakfast and dinners - there was even a cute little tiny waffle maker! The bed was very comfortable, and after a full two days of hiking, it was nice to just watch some Netflix movies. The house was very clean and neat, and the decor was very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again when we visit the National Parks. One hike that was especially memorable was Peekaboo Gulch and Spooky Gulch slot canyons - just 35 miles from the Little House, although access is 20 miles down a very rough dirt road so it takes about an hour or 75 minutes to get there. The slots narrow to 10 inches in places and there are some tricky spots to navigate.

The property was wonderful! We had everything we needed. We used The Tiny House as our base camp to visit Capitol Reef NP and many of the SPs and byways and overlooks. The owner is very friendly and stays on top of any concerns you might have.

Beautiful and romantic

We loved this little house. Had anything and everything we could have needed. Our host was so helpful, responsive, and sweet. I loved how homey and cozy this felt for us but still had plenty of room for us to set up our big suitcase open and still move around and use the whole place. The bathroom is tiny but has everything you could possibly need. So many amazing restaurants near by too. We loved breakfast burritos from magnolia kitchen and incredible sourdough from excalante outfitters highly suggest this place
