About this property

Log Cabin Suite2-RideIn RideOut

Lower Level of a two-story Log Cabin
Imagine riding from your front door, down a shaded driveway, and into DuPont Forest just a quarter mile down the road.
This suite is ideal for multiple couples or a family needing more than one bedroom for their get-away.  It has a private entry from the stone patio, which is also a beautiful spot to relax with a cold beverage after your ride.
Inside, you will find two bedrooms, a kichenette/dining area, livingroom with big screen TV, a full bath, and laundry machines.
On the DuPont Bike Retreat property you'll also be able to enjoy a gorgeous mountain view from where we sit nestled on a hilltop.
We are Dog Friendly with a $50/dog fee (see booking agreement for details). Unfortunately we cannot accept other types of pets at this time. If you plan to bring your pup, please be sure to select the appropriate Add-On before checking out on our website. (*AirBnb guests please contact us AFTER booking and we will do a price adjustment you will need to agree to for the fee. **VRBO guests please contact us AFTER booking so we can make PayPal or pay-on-arrival arrangements for the fee.)
During your stay... Please be aware that this is a two-story log cabin so you may hear daily living activities, including voices and floorboards, if the upper suite is occupied during your stay.

* The lower suite can be booked independently or with the upper suite for a combined 3 bedrooms.  An interior stairway adds convenience for larger groups, or can be locked securely when rented separately.
** The Log Cabin is attached by one door in the corner of the Upper Suite to the owner's residence.  The door is secure and will remain locked for the duration of your visit.  We guarantee your privacy while staying with us.
***  There is a beautiful stone fireplace/chimney in the livingroom but please be aware that it is NOT currently functional...it is purely decorative.

Need better storage surfaces
I recommend on adding more counter surfaces and hooks for keys and perhaps hang utensils. Cooking is difficult under the current set up. Also look into the existing heater installed in the bedroom...the label shows it should not be installed in bedroom.

Great place great host!
We are Floridians and cold! We found 2 space heaters on our step. Very responsive and sweet host. Home was quaint and very comfy. We loved the little Christmas tree. Very comfortable bed and every thing you need in the kitchen. Thick rich white towels! Big TV. Love the dog poo bags and convenient trash cans.

Sensory overload
We had a great time in the mountains hiking to some of the best waterfalls through the multi colored trees. The views were spectacular, the waterfalls majestic and the cabin was cozy. Absolutely the best time of the year to visit. We enjoyed the common area with the view of the sunrise while sitting by the fire drinking coffee. All in all, our anniversary was a beautiful time in a place that we just discovered and we plan to return .

Scenic and comfortable
We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Mountain very much, despite heavy rain for more than half of it. The cabin is spacious enough for having to camp out for the better part of the day. And the amenities were nice to have. I think I've become a convert to always have a place with a W/D so I can pack the suitcase for home with clean clothes. We booked this cabin b/c it allows dogs. I will say that must be kept quite clean b/c there was no overpowering pet odor when entering (something I've definitely experienced before). The property was very beautiful with a nice mountain view, but not too remote - we ended up eating at a diner nearby which was convenient and quite good. Lastly, the owners were friendly and helpful. Yet, didn't encroach on their guests' space (waited to be approached). Checkout procedures were easy and straightfoward.
