Host was an amazing communicator. Location was perfect, 15 minutes from almost any place you would want to go. Home was clean had everything you could need. Great VRBO experience.
We loved the authenticity and loving care of this old Farm House. Very comfortable, very clean, beautiful property. Some traffic noise, but it didn't bother us us.aftethefirstdsy
We wanted to visit both Portland the the lake area / hiking; perfect location for both. We had a wonderful stay and the farm house is charming. We enjoyed our stay!
We had 5 wonderful days in this very beautiful farmhouse. It is a short drive to Portland and the surrounding beaches. In about 20 minutes you can also be at the beautiful Lake Sebago.
This house had so much character and it was perfect for our family of 5, with a special needs child. The owners were really communicative and just so sweet. We didn't know that the family lived in a private part of the house when we rented (we usually prefer that not to be the case), but it didn't feel awkward at all, and on the last morning, we actually got to tour the whole house. It was interesting and I was amazed that the owner did a lot of the detail work himself. We were only there 3 days but would definitely rent again from these owners.
We really enjoyed this property. Very different from other places we have stayed - it is exactly as listed, an old farmhouse. Nice big yard for kids to run around in, and a grill for use. Family members reside on the property and greeted us to give a quick tour; she was a sweet woman and they were so quiet you would have never guessed they were there. I would absolutely go back in the future. Host was very responsive to online messages. Thank you for having us!
Thanks, Alex, and the rest of your family for a great stay! We loved the old farmhouse and the grounds outside. And it was so nice of you to welcome us, show us around, and be there to say farewell! You made our vacation extra enjoyable!
We loved our stay at the farm. The house is so cute and charming - the library bedroom is incredible!! There was an issue with the upstairs toilet and the owner's children who manage the property responded right away. Would absolutely recommend staying here!
We greatly enjoyed our three day stay at the Farmhouse! Such a quaint, relaxing place! Made our first trip to Maine feel like 'Maine'. The location was great, close to Portland, Freeport. Our host Alex (and family) were warm & welcoming as well as attentive to any issues. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely recommend it and return.
For our family of 4 this was a great place to stay. After spending our days hiking or hanging out in Portland, it was nice to come home to a quiet neighborhood where you could sit outside in the large yard and enjoy nature. It is an 1880's farmhouse so the rooms aren't huge and the bathrooms are small, but it is very comfortable and has internet, cable TV, and air conditioning. It has been well maintained and is very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Plus the hosts are lovely people.
Its nice to get away from modern life and step back in time. The hosts were very welcoming and the food in Portland was fresh and delicious. I would stay there again. Very clean Farm house.
Our family of five enjoyed this farmhouse full of character. We had a little trouble with water temperature but Greg adjusted it and we were fine! Separate room for each of our kids, comfy beds, laundry available and the library room was amazing! The location is excellent though - short, scenic drive to Portland but close to beautiful hikes in Gorham and vicinity. Grocery is five minutes away but our must go places were The Blue Pig for breakfast and Sebago Brewing for dinner and great local brews. Their food was AMAZING!!

A wonderful, charming farmhouse
We stayed at the Harrison House while in Maine for a wedding. The house is so beautiful and well maintained and the grounds (and swing) provided a great place for our daughters to play. This property had all the amenities of home and we can't stay enough good things about it!
Like stepping back in time! The claw foot tub, porch swing, piano, the library with books from the 1800’s ~ just charming! Immaculate, quaint, great location, excellent communication ~ we loved our stay!
We had a delightful visit to Maine and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy farmhouse. Loved the tin ceilings, claw foot tub, and the library bedroom. The home had everything we needed. It was fun to cook in the well stocked kitchen (we made a delicious quiche). We would recommend this home to anyone
I stayed for 3 days with my family of 6. We all had ample room, Bonnie and Katya were welcoming and communicative, and the home is an absolute charmer! We had a very rainy day on day 2, but there were loads of old books, and a few puzzles and games to entertain us. Then, on warm sunny days, we were close to nearby beaches. The full kitchen had everything we needed and 2 bathrooms with 6 people was a must. Thank so much for our relaxing time in Maine!
We are a family of four who stay in Maine for a week or two every summer. Our teens go to camp in Portland so we look for places within 30 minutes of drop off. The farmhouse was a great location for us. Our hosts were helpful when we needed them and also very quiet and gave us our space to feel as if we were there alone. Check in was easy and there was a ton of space for us to store our things. The property had everything we needed to cook family meals and comfortably unwind after a busy day. Everyone loved the porch swing! Sitting there with a cup of tea and good book was the absolute best. The farmhouse is very old and comes with quirks like on demand hot water that’s tricky to manage in the upstairs shower but we didn’t mind because the clawfoot tub downstairs was perfect. It’s also a stunning home and we loved the charm of it; especially the library room which is such a treat. We all felt relaxed and comfortable here, it was very hard to say goodbye. We would absolutely rent time at the farmhouse again!
Oh and Beals Ice Cream and The Blue Pig are both 5 min away and were fantastic stops for food. There are also a TON of walking trails and bike paths. Check out Ernie’s Cycle Shop if you need anything bike related.
The house is as advertised. It is an old charming farmhouse. If you’re looking for a place that’s up to date with amenities and a pool…this place is not for you. If you’re looking for a place that is serene, quiet and you love to read…this is the place! Yes, there may be an issue with the hot water in the upstairs bathroom but that only happened when we first got there. By day 2 all was fine. I stayed in the “library” room. The room is lined with bookshelves and a lot of old books that I love. I read every night before bed. Sophia, the property manager was great. I recommend the place to anyone who loves old charming farmhouses. And it’s nice for family to be in a house with a living room and dining room where you can all be together and play Monopoly! Yes, there are games available.
Buona , la casa è un po’ vecchia e le pentole erano poche. Peccato per la mancanza della lavastoviglie….comunque nel complesso il soggiorno è stato piacevole ed è una buona posizione per visitare la zona sud del Maine
The rustic charm is amazing at this place. Bathrooms were clean and fuctional. Beds were very comfortable. The 2nd floor libray has a built in bed that's over the front porch. Would go back with my family if we get back the Maine in the future.
