Aloha! Our family stayed in this lovely home in Princeville, Kauai for an unforgettable month. We wanted a place that felt like a home and less like a transient rental and this place was perfect.
The house has all of the creature comforts (like smart TVs in every room) and is supplied with everything you could need (especially the kitchen!) and is tastefully decorated. We had 4 adults and 2 kids (2 in the master, 2 in the guest room, 2 kids upstairs) and we never once felt cramp in the home. The backyard is spacious and has the most delectable outdoor shower (honestly, we showered outside most mornings just because of the view!) There are ceiling fans in every room and extra floor fans to set up to keep you cool throughout the night if the breeze outside is not enough.
I want to specifically point out how incredibly well stocked the garage is in terms of "extras" for the family - you will find snorkeling gear and fins, 6 new bikes, boogie boards, chairs, an umbrella, outdoor games (like badminton) - everything you could possibly need for a fun vacation in Kauai.
The owners and property manager are exceptionally kind and quick to respond. We noticed at one point we were losing hot water and (I kid you not) Thames was at the house to address the issue with 10 minutes of my first text message to him and had the matter resolved within a couple of hours.
The neighborhood is quiet and everyone is very respectful since doors and windows are left open constantly for the amazing island breeze. Be aware though, there is no street parking AT ALL. This is in part to keep the streets from filling up with tourists trying to get to the hidden beaches in that area (which I appreciate). If you want to see Queens Bath, ride the bikes, have someone drop you off, or get there exceptionally early because there are only 5 spots in which to park. Access to Sea Lodge Beach is walkable, but its a hidden path, so I recommend asking Thames.
There is a farmers market every Saturday at the entrance of Princeville, and a grocery and boutique stores right outside the neighborhood. Ten minutes down the road, you'll find the amazing Hanalei village and Hanalei Bay with only locally owned and operated boutiques, surf shops, eateries, and shave ice! I cannot recommend this home enough if you are looking to stay in Kauai.
