Garden oasis

The house and neighbourhood were excellent, the focus of our stay was in the garden gazebo surrounded by numerous birds. The property has everything we needed, including deck chairs, bicycles, snorkelling gear, etc.

April ‘25 Kauai trip

Comfortable and clean home with traditional decor made our stay feel truly Hawaiian. We spent most of our time out in covered deck and backyard space where every morning we were greeted by a variety of birds. Home is well stocked with everything we needed at home and for trips to the beach. We plan to return some time soon.

We are definitely staying here again!

Extremely well maintained, clean, fully stocked home in a safe, quiet neighborhood located in easy driving distance to everything we wanted to see and do. My favorite part of our 20th wedding anniversary getaway was relaxing in the back yard, surrounded by the most beautiful lush landscaping, listening to and watching the birds...ahhhhh.

Wonderful home in quiet Princeville neighborhood

My family of four really enjoyed this house and it's location in a quite Princeville neighborhood. Everyone enjoyed the backyard and the covered seating area. My son and daughter really appreciated the bikes and boogieboards and the well stocked beach equipment that is available to guests. We'd definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience

The photos in the listing do not do the home justice. It’s a beautiful property, excellent location and convenient to just about anywhere you want to go. There isn’t anything we needed that wasn’t provided for our stay. We had our family (total of 5 adults) and there was plenty of room. Don’t let the “no air conditioning” worry you, you don’t need it with all the fans and the breeze. This was a wonderful experience and we hope to be back!

Great location and property!

It’s a great house in a very nice neighborhood. The outdoor patio area is especially nice and the landscaping is beautiful. There are plenty of chairs, games, beach toys, coolers, etc…in the garage. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need.

Wonderful Home

Absolutely stunning home and yard in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Will most likely book again but during a warmer time of the year. The owners had supplied all the things needed for a great stay for things to do on the beach, in the water and to play in their backyard.

Private paradise

This property provides a private paradise. The pictures of the backyard don’t do it justice. Everyday we enjoyed in the morning and then again in the evening after playing on the beaches. Added bonus of the ability to use the beach gear the Cherry’s make available to there guests. Will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic house, well equipped

This was a beautiful house with the most provisions I have ever seen in a VRBO. They had everything you could possibly need, including for kids. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, and there was a great playground walking distance as well as some shops and restaurants. One of my favorite VRBOs to date!

Kalalau trail for the young ones kayaking Waiilua river hike to Secret falls.most wonderful botanical garden/mini golf on a sunny day. Only disappointment was didn't find any good snorkling all week. Fantastic family dinner each night and ping pong matches.

Look no further - perfect, comfortable, and clean home

Well-stocked and beautifully decorated home with everything you would need for a vacation in Princeville. All appliances, towels, and beach supplies were high quality which is not always the case for rental homes. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. Nice location for a home base and is perfect for an evening walk to a nice restaurant and grocery store. We also walked several times down to Wylie beach and from there over to Anini beach for swimming and snorkeling in August. Having all the amenities in this home helped.us have a great vacation.

Perfect vacation home—beyond expectations!

It was perfect for our family trip to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday, our son’s 18th birthday and a family wedding. It was so close to our favorite beaches and an easy walk to Princeville shops. The neighborhood was very nice, the house was so clean and well-equipped. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the backyard both when the sun was out and when it rained—so beautiful! We highly recommend and hope to stay there again. Thank you for sharing your home!

Peaceful private getaway

Great house in Princeville stocked with everything you could need (bikes, boogie boards, double kayak, misc beach gear, etc). Backyard was great - loved all the birds and covered patio. Cooled down quickly with the screened doors and windows. Scott is great to work with.

Fantastic stay in Paradise

Scott and Linda have set up an amazing home base for those staying in Princeville. We really appreciated the thoughtful kitchen set up and the available amenities such as the beach chairs and all the things you could want for spending time outside. Loved watching and feeding the Java Sparrows, doves, cardinals and chickens while having breakfast while on the patio. We loved it so much. So cozy , love the outside dining area, with the rooster, hen & baby chicks. All the beautiful birds. Sounds of the jungle were amazing. Quiet, relaxing place

We enjoyed our time there. It was a bit out-of-the-way in an established neighborhood so it was peaceful. Perhaps the Vrbo ad needs updating. The house is not air conditioned; there are lots of fans. There is a refrigeration unit in the main bedroom, along with a sign asking that it not be used if possible because of the cost of electricity. We did like having a quiet spot to come back to each day.

Wonderful, Well-Equipped Home

Super happy with our stay at the Cherry’s home. Better equipped than my home! Almost every kitchen appliance available (e.g., blender, mixer, bread machine, coffee grinder/maker) you would ever need. Almost every beach accessory that you would ever need (e.g., umbrellas, water shoes, beach toys, puddle jumper, reusable water bottles, beach towels). The home was very clean and well-maintained. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Lots of space for my family of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids). It was a little warm during the day but there are plenty of fans and the house cooled decently with the windows and doors open in the evening. Would definitely stay here again!

Private Retreat!

All of the 5 star reviews are true, this house is a gem! We were fortunate enough to stay almost 5 weeks in this rental, so it really was a home away from home. The owners’ intentional approach to “ home sharing “was obvious at every level. Special things that way have not been mentioned; the living room is fabulous, large windows on two sides with a view of some of the beautiful plantings and a fountain/ bird bath. It has two couches, a very comfortable chair and a smart TV. Such a feeling of “island life.”! The kitchen is so well organized, and all the appliances work! That room leads to the beautiful pergola addition. We spent countless hours in that space enjoying meals with the birds. Our weather was good. The house can get warm in the late afternoon, but the wonderful breezes, supplemented by the many fans, made it comfortable. I think we used the primary bedroom’s AC twice. This house is a private retreat! We have rented in Princeville before. I think we have found a “ home”.

Princeville Paradise

We spent the last two weeks at Kalika Hale, and couldn’t have been happier! The location, the house, and the overall “vibe” were perfect for us! We spent week “one” with friends and week “two” with family, and everyone loved it! The outdoor pavilion was where we spent most of our time, enjoying the beautiful, private back yard and the parade of birds that visited the feeder. The house was very well stocked with just about everything, and the game room/garage area had all the beach gear we needed. We would definitely go back!

Having been born and raised in the Bay Area of California, my wife and I were no strangers to the allure of coastal living. Our affinity for the islands began even before our two daughters came into our lives. It all started with a simple invitation from friends to their condo at Hanalei Bay Resort some 30 years ago. From the moment we woke up and were greeted by the breathtaking view, we knew we had found our paradise.

Despite having explored other islands, none could compare to the beauty and tranquility we found in Hanalei. It was a dream we couldn't shake off, and eventually, we made it a reality by purchasing our very own vacation home in Princeville.

Now, our home in paradise serves as more than just a retreat for us. It's a sanctuary where we spend about three months every year, surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, and guests who gather to share in the magic of this special place.

The peace and privacy our home in paradise offers. The lush gardens, water fountains, birds bathing in the bird bath and after sunset our yard is illuminated for late night enjoyment. We have converted the garage into a very nice game room with ping-pong, sleeping couch and a 65" smart TV. A great place for the kids and adults to enjoy when not sight seeing or at the beach.
