Wanted to do a quick weekend getaway before school started and so glad we found Cabin Life! It unfortunately rained for pretty much our whole stay, but having the game room to keep the kids entertained worked out well. The place was clean and more than large enough for our family of 4 to spread out, and the host was quick to respond with any questions I had. Hoping to go back again!
The house is located in the heart of blowing rock and was a great home base for exploring the High Country region. Easy access to Blue Ridget Parkway, Grandfather Mountain and I really enjoyed the natural surroundings.
My family and I stayed here in August 2025. Great cabin for a 6-person family stay. It's perfectly situated between Blowing Rock and Boone. I really liked the pet policy as we were able to bring our sm/med-sized parrot. The wrap around deck is nice for having outdoor meals. My only suggestion is to have the water damaged floor in the upstairs bathroom looked at. When you step near the shower, the floor sinks.
Great location! Lots of snow and walking distance to the ski slopes. The mountain views at Cabin Life were beautiful, nice quiet street and neighborhood of cabins. The whole family really enjoyed our stay at this cabin!
Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It is set up well for larger families, having 3 separate levels. It is probably the closest place to the slopes that you will find, it is an easy 3-4 minute walk to App Ski Mtn. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed hearing the train from Tweetsie railroad. A very fun surprise! It was a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of amenities. The only part of our stay that wasn't the best was the cleanliness of the home. The owner/property manager was great, and I don't think they know that the cleaning company isn't doing that great of a job.
We selected this home because it was pet friendly and close to Tweetsie Railroad where Riders in the Sky were performing. We are hoping that it is available next year when Riders perform at Tweetsie again.
Cabin was clean, well-stocked, and in a peaceful setting. Host responded quickly to questions and was very helpful. Only glitch was that on last night, we tried to use the big bathtub, and couldn't get the drain to stay closed. Overall, though, a very enjoyable stay.
The cabin is right past the entrance to the ski resort. The walk to the slopes is about 10 minutes with a bit of a steep uphill just before the entrance of the resort. The cabin is the perfect option for a family. It was clean and organized. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The game room was a hit. The game tables and games have definitely seen their fair share of use but still functional.
Pros:1. Location, location, location! The cabin is a very, very short walk to Appalachian Ski Mountain (ASM). It was quicker and easier for us to walk than to drive, go through the gate, and park at ASM. It was very nice to take breaks from skiing in the comfort (and quiet) of our own cabin instead of the chaos of the ski lodge.2. Not steep! Neither the road to ASM nor the private road to the cabin are steep...just be careful on the winding road leading to ASM. The parking pad is also flat. so no need to worry about a scary driveway.3. Friendly owner! The owner is friendly and accommodating.4. Clean and well kept! The cabin is very clean and well kept. There was nothing old or worn-out.5. Plenty of space for the family! We had plenty of room for everyone. The kids hung-out downstairs while the adults hung-out on the main floor.6. Speaking of downstairs...the kids loved hanging out downstairs. They played air hockey, ping-pong, darts, and movies.7. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean.Cons:NONE!
The house is large and filled with every thing you need for your stay. Tweetsie railroad can be heard from the deck! The bedrooms all have a TV and comfy beds. Wish the bathrooms were cleaner and the game room more usable but otherwise super happy with the stay!
Beware that the roads to get there are quite winding with a sharp cliff on one side (maybe I’m just not used to mountain driving).
The owner was great and answered me quickly as well!
