The shores of Lake Dora are steps from our property. Our property was a 1940's Fish Camp that we renovated with love and with comfort in mind. Enjoy the serenity and the glories of lake life while enjoying the festivals and events. The quaint charm of Historic Downtown Mount Dora is a short 1 mile scenic drive or bike ride away. Tavares, the Seaplane Capital of the World is right next door.

THE SPACE.....
We renovated our Lakeside Hideaway with comfort and privacy in mind. Our property is one house behind the shores of Lake Dora.

The Guest Suite has a garden view to enjoy watching and listening to the many colorful bird species serenade you every morning while you have your coffee. Take in the show at the bird feeders and the bird bath from your window. Our half acre property has tropical fruit trees, a veg garden, beautiful native florals, butterflies and comedic squirrels. Get away from the big city rat race and relax "Old Florida" style.

Our guests ALWAYS compliment us on how CLEAN our Guest Suite is. We take pride in our home and love to share our high standards with others. Many of our guests also rave about the COMFORT of our heated queen size bed. The thermal blackout curtains will make sure you keep warm in winter and cool in the summer. They also provide for a great nights sleep. We have a great AC with a remote control that has a dehumidifying function as well. It is really great especially during our wet season to keep you extra cool. In addition to that we added a bedside dehumidifier if you prefer to use that instead. We are meticulous about pest control so no worries there.

The Guest Suite is a bedroom, big closet, hallway and a big bathroom with a separate private entrance from the outside. It has a mini fridge, microwave and a Keurig Coffeemaker.

The Guest Suite is separated from the main house by a sealed door with a deadbolt. No one has a bedroom or lives on the other side of the adjoining dead bolted door. It is a formal living room that we rarely use. The only occupants in the main house are my husband, myself and our fur baby Bella a very spoiled 11 year old Chihauhau. Our living quarters are on the opposite side of the main house at least 800 feet away from the adjoining door of the Guest Suite. You can be assured It is very private and quiet. We have all the latest technology; Fast reliable WIFI for those who are traveling remote workers and a ROKU TV.

We also have an outdoor seating area under a shade tree with a partial view of the lake, where you can relax and enjoy the Florida weather. On those chilly winter nights (chilly by Florida standards...lol), we like to occasionally build a bon fire and get to know our guests if they choose to join us. We live in an extremely safe neighborhood. We have safe parking, and security cameras throughout the exterior of the property for your safety.

GUEST ACCESS...
This is a half acre lot so outside the door there is a lot of green space. There are chairs to sit in and enjoy the sun and nature or just have morning coffee. One of the seating areas at the main entrance has a partial view of the lake across the street on Lakeshore Drive. There is a pool on the property but it is not available for guest use. It requires renovations to be compliant for public use. It is for our private use only.

There are private boat docks all along Lake Dora that belong to our neighbors. We kindly ask our guests not to use them. We are thankful that our neighbors are supportive of us sharing our home with our guests, so we are very mindful of not intruding on their privacy or their private property. Guests are welcome to walk or bike ride along the lake on the public road. There are public spots for lake access that we will happy to share with you when you book.

SEASONAL COMFORTS...
We are diligent with pest control and for those pesky months we have mosquito lanterns and upon request, we can burn mosquito repellent coils for you while you're sitting outside. For winter we add a heated mattress pad with dual controls on the bed and make sure you have extra bedding, in addition to remote control heaters. We have also installed thermal blackout curtains in the bedroom to keep your warm or extra cool during those hot summer nights. The AC's in the Guest Suite also has a Dry setting to combat the Lakeside humidity especially during our wet season.

We have thought of everything for you! As lifetime Floridians we know the drill so you don't need to.

PARKING AND PROXIMITY TO DOWNTOWN MOUNT DORA...
No worries we provide free parking. Don't want to bother with the hassle of finding downtown parking? Take a 5 minute Uber ride downtown and enjoy seeing Mount Dora on a Segway or maybe a scenic boat tour. Or, how about a Seaplane Tour? It's all within 5 to 10 minutes away. If you're a bike riding enthusiast downtown is a 1 mile bike ride away.
