Small but mighty: Immersed in nature, 10 minutes from Selfoss
This newly renovated little gem is offered for rent since autumn 2015: One enters the entrance hall with cloakroom and a small but functional kitchenette. From the vestibule, go straight to the shower room with WC. Links goes into it the living room and bedroom. There is a comfortable sofa bed (mattress width 1.60), a table with two chairs and a dresser. The room is bright and friendly and we look Trough the window into nature. The terrace has windbreak to the north and in the summer you can sit nicely with wide views to the southwest and west; down to the river, over the vast plain and the surrounding mountains. Sometimes here grazing horses in the pasture.
The end-cleaning is not included in the price. We offer our guests to book it separately for 50 EUR or save by cleaning themselves.. You are welcome to decide and pay for the end-cleaning during your stay. If end-cleaning is not paid for, the cottage should be left clean and tidy for the next guests. It is also possible to pay for the cleaning through credit card after the stay.

Enjoyable place close to everything you need. We saw the Northern Lights two nights in a row with the wide open viewing space. Close to a lots of sights for day trips.
We had a wonderful stay at Petra’s cabin! She had great communication throughout and was incredibly thoughtful — especially when she let us know the Northern Lights were out, which made our trip extra special. The cabin was cozy, clean, and perfect for our getaway. We’d happily stay again!
We enjoyed our stay. The location was central for us to use as a hub to take day trips out and back from. It was just the right size for two. The guesthouse was clean and bright and we were greeted by chickens and a rooster upon arrival.
Perfect location for exploring the south coast of Iceland, very clean property and has all the amenities required!
Property very well looked after, very warm even when it’s blowing a hoolie outside!
Would definitely stay again!
I stayed here for a few days in March 2025, Petra made the stay very home-like. The property is in the country and is a short drive from Selfoss. It has an amazing view of the countryside as well.
My Wife and I had a fabulous time at this location, petra was amazing in giving us a lovely expereince.
Would highly recommend this location as its just out of town so its a peaceful getaway. Would return here again.
This was such a great little spot to relax in at the end of every day of adventure. Cozy, homey environment. Water pressure in shower was great. Everything was lovely. Views outside by the river were amazing.
This cozy apartment was the perfect home base for exploring Iceland! It was warm and inviting after long days exploring the stunning landscapes. The well-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare simple meals, and the comfortable bed ensured a restful sleep. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Iceland.
Our stay in Selfoss was great, everything is as shown. This was a great home base for all the sites on the south coast. We did stay one night in Jökulsárlón beings it was about a 4 hour drive to do our glacier hike and boat tour. Worked out great.
We have really enjoyed our week just outside Selfoss. The cabin was cosy and equipped with all the essentials, and an excellent base to explore southern Iceland from. We even got to see the Northern Lights from just outside the cabin! Petra was an accessible, friendly and super helpful host, she kindly went above and beyond to help us when our flight was cancelled due to a bad storm. We would highly recommend!
The location is great - just outside Selfoss so it was easy to access Selfoss for gas, restaurants and groceries, etc. but it was in a quiet, country-like location.
The house was a great size with a well stocked kitchen.
Best thing - we got to see the northern lights while standing on the driveway!

Fantastic place, quiet, great views, and close to Selfoss with shops and activities. Just a few kilometers from the famous "Golden Circle." The accommodation is very clean and tidy. Petra is an exceptional host, very kind and helpful. We needed help with the car, and she was available immediately. We've been traveling around Iceland for a while now, and this is the best accommodation. A 5, but I'd rate it 10. Highly recommended.

nice little country cottage
our stay was very nice and we have been lucky without TV but with a radio. The cottage was full equiped with all things we needed. It was very clean.
It was a pitty we havn`t seen and talked to the owner.
Beautiful property located just east of Selfoss with easy access to the southern region. 10 minutes outside of Selfoss where there are grocery stores, restaurants etc. Secluded with a beautiful river running through front of the property. You might even get to say hi to some chickens!

Me and my partner stayed here for 7 days, the property was absolutely perfect. The location is great it’s easy to find and tucked away but also 10 minutes from town (Selfoss) and 50 minutes from the south coast sites.
The cabin was very cosy and had all the amenities we needed, the bed was comfy and perfect. We woke up and were greeted by chickens and a dog outside which was a lovely surprise.
The best part was we saw the northern lights from the cabin on the last night, Petra was easy to communicate with and welcoming.
Would highly recommend!
This property lived up to its name - small but mighty. The best thing about it is the location. It is right off of ring road, close to Selfoss and the Golden Circle, but still very quiet and remote. There were beautiful views out each window and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. It had all of the amenities we needed and had a comfortable bed for being a sofa sleeper! There was no actual coffee maker, just an electric tea kettle, pour over coffee dripper with filters or a French press. Thanks to google, I learned how to use the French press which was fine! :) There was a small refrigerator, but no freezer, but because it was still early spring, I just put my ice packs on the porch to keep them cold. The blankets and towels were a little rough and scratchy, but that was no problem either. The location and other amenities, along with the price, made up for that! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!
Phenomenal stay- we saw the aurora from the porch!
As stated, we managed to get a glimpse of the aurora from the porch, which was so nice at the end of our week long stay. When we first arrived, we had a minor issue with the WiFi and shower drain- Petra was responsive and fixed these issues immediately and even checked in with us later in the week. The cabin was a lovely place to come home to after long cold days in Iceland, and we would love to stay here again!
This place was clean, cozy and had everything I needed including wifi and a small kitchen. Everything that I wanted to visit was within a one hour distance in every direction. The price is fair. The place is quiet and beautiful surrounded by horses and nature. The views are breathtaking and at night if you are lucky you'll see every star in the sky and the northern lights like I did. Thanks Petra.
