Very quiet and scenic location, clean property with cozy living quarters, excellent amenities (full kitchen, much appreciated) and just very well set up for guests. Enjoyed our time here immensely. Wish we owned a cabin on the lake like this!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The views were absolutely beautiful and made for such a relaxing getaway. The cabin itself is on the smaller side, but it was cozy, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Perfect spot for some peace and quiet with a stunning scenery.
We really enjoyed our stay! You literally can’t get any closer to the water. The check in process was very easy and the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the stay. Thank you for your review and please consider coming back for another stay. You were great guests and we highly recommend you to other hosts.
We were so happy driving down that gravel road and seeing the house with that perfect view, the dock, and the land around the house. We enjoyed the raspberry bushes. We swam, had a fire, played. The house itself was nicer that I could have imagined. Plenty of towels, linens, fans, kitchen utensils. It was perfect. Thank you so much!
Our stay was amazing. We slept in the bed facing the water so we could wake up and see the beautiful view. The kitchen was very nice to have. The touch of having games to play since there is no wifi, was very nice. The host was easy to communicate with. One thing I wish it had was an easy way to get in the water. The host did say that they are currently renovating the dock, though.
We highly recommend this place! Clean and well-maintained; beautiful location! Very peaceful and serene. Our only issue was the lack of communication - when we arrived, the cleaning lady was there and was not expecting anyone to check in that day. Fortunately, she was able to get in touch with the property manager and we were able to clear up the misunderstanding. Had she not been there, we would have had no way to enter the property, since the host had not replied to our emails requesting check-in information.

The place was cute and we loved that it was on the water. It looked like the construction was pretty slapped together and would have been nice if the dock was level/stable. Half of the windows did not open and it got VERY hot in there. The portable AC was not helpful as there was nothing to attach the exhaust to the outside so it just exhausted into the unit which made it hotter.
The property has the most amazing views and the house sits right at Lake Superiors waters edge. It was everything that they said it was and then some. Very cozy. All amenities that were listed were included. The lawn was well manicured and we did not see any rodents. We really enjoyed the place and appreciated the last minute approval. Had a wonderful time. Thank you
The views from inside and relaxing on the porch seats are gorgeous, our daily 'visitors' of about 20 Canadian geese were a trip as was watching all the other wildlife, town was just the right distance away at under 15 minutes with an IGA for groceries and really good restaurants, our only neighbor was a sailboat marina a few acres away that has 6 boats and was very quiet the entire time we were there, and you absolutely cannot beat the quietness and seclusion of the house & property. The only activity on the water near us was seeing the charter boats a few times a day at a great distance going along and between the islands. Now why 4 vs. 5 stars? Because when we got to the house late the first night and went in, the construction of the house & porch, multiple rotten dock pieces needing replacement, and some windows not opening made us wonder what we got ourselves into. It took us until the morning to warm up to everything but were then good for the rest of the week. All in all, it was a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Perfect little getaway
Had a great time here. The space is small but did ok. The check in was a little messed up but got holder of owner and got it taken care of right away. Place was clean. Wish the was more seating area.
The location is amazing - and would have been better if the grass had been recently cut - if there was an actual fire pit that was near the water without 6 foot weeds between the place to have a fire and the water - and again- if the grass was cut, you would feel better about walking around. - Mouse ate my cookies that were on the counter - I would place all food in the fridge.
We had a wonderful time at this little cottage on the lake. It's off the beaten path, simple and ultra-close to the water. We had breakfast on the old pier every morning and watched the stars at night. There's no TV and no WiFi but who needs it? Play some of the games and just decompress. I hope we'll come back sometime.
Great beds! New kitchen. Amazing location! This property has a pier!! Which is very unusual on Lake Superior. The shore is rocky, but the lake floor is hard pan sand. So getting in and out of kayaks and or paddleboards is very easy. Some minor things we would like to see added - ladder out of the water. A smart tv. Ice trays!
The bathroom was very small, and the door did not close. Not enough seating in the living room. Four people in one bed room was tight. But the location made it worth it! We enjoyed our stay!
My wife and I stayed here with our three kids. The area was very clean. There were insects, which is to be expected in a property like this. The only complaint would be lack of seating as there were five of us and there is only one loveseat +4 dining Stools. It was a bit stuffy on arrival, but this was mostly due to the weather. The second day, as humidity dropped and the wind picked up off of the lake, the rental cool down nicely. We did bring our own mini cot so that our five year old could sleep in the bedroom with the rest of us.
My three children enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming in the cold superior water. If we had kayaks or canoes, it would’ve been great to tool around the area as there is a shipwreck within a few hundred yards of the dock.
Communication with Amanda was easy and efficient. Check in and check out were no problem. A short trip to Red Cliff and Bayfield. We did stop at Petersons Grocery on the south side of Red Cliff to get breakfast supplies.

Mice 😞
They were very accommodating with a full refund but we couldn’t stay due to mice. The balcony leading to the lake is also unstable and thus unsafe for children or older adults.
We really enjoyed how it's right on the water. I liked not having a TV. The view of the lake is great! Dock is in a great spot just needs a little tlc but nice to have that also!
Beautiful view of lake superior. The property was just as described in the listing and had great communication with the owner.

About the host

Our family is from the St. Cloud area in Minnesota. We enjoy going sailing, eating good food, playing games, traveling, and watching college hockey as a family. We have a small hobby farm where we raise alpacas and rocky mountain elk. Our family is pretty loud and we love meeting new people!
Why they chose this property
Our family chose to purchase this property after visiting the beautiful town of Bayfield for sailing. We absolutely love lake superior.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin sits right on the water which you don't see much anymore. You can't get much closer to living on the lake other than a boat!
