About this property

Lazy Akers Nest-River cabin

Memories are made at this unique family-friendly gathering place next to the Bogue Chitto River in Franklinton ,La. A quiet place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The camp is positioned on 1 acre of land 40 ft from the river. It has 2 bedrooms , a loft and sleeps 10 ppl in beds. Also has a large very comfortable couch and recliner for naps. The large front porch is ideal for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. Ground level is the place to hang out barbque, have seafood boils or just unwind. The 2 picnic tables (16 ft, 6ft) will serve the entire bunch. Our camp also has a childs rope swing, a baby swing, a flow well tank, restroom, kitchen sink with prep area and an outside hot water shower. Summer nights can be spent gazing at the stars on our hammock next to the river or playing an old game of horseshoes. This is an upscale camp/ cabin and has been a special place for many people to make fabulous memories.

Church retreat

I had an amazing time with my students. We hung out, relaxed, ate too much junk food and studied the Bible. We even had a foot washing ceremony. Great place. Great location.

We loved staying here! Planning on coming back as soon as we can. Owner was very quick to respond to messages and super helpful. My favorite part was the front porch in the evenings and in the mornings while I drank my coffee. Saw a bald eagle twice while we sat out there.

Rustic Country Cabin Getaway

This was perfect. It was our son’s wedding and the groomsmen and us and our children hung out here before and after the wedding ceremony. Just the right amount of getaway but still close to amenities if someone needed something. The river is beautiful and the cabin is perfectly accommodating for our large group of family and friends. The guys loved the came fire , the kids enjoyed the loft. Everyone had their own space. Thank you. Would definitely recommend and consider reserving the cabin again.
