I'm so glad you all enjoyed your stay! The pictures feeding the deer were great. You were amazing guests, everything was clean and the house rules were respected. We would love to have you if you are ever in the area again.
The bird gardens were wonderful with huge hummingbird numbers. And the many wild turkeys were also as entertaining. The turkeys and deer even visited up close while we sat on the deck or in the bird gardens. A very quiet, relaxing experience.

We had no idea you had such a wonderful place to relax and see cool birds. It truly exceeded our expectations. February was good, but we'd love to return in a season with even more birds. Thank you both, Jen and Greg, for sharing and making our visit so rewarding.

This cozy cabin nestled in Ramsey Canyon is a gem. The shady setting is amazing for up close viewing of hummingbirds and other species. Jen and Greg are delightful and have nurtured an amazing property for birdwatching and nature trail walking. A great find in the Sierra Vista area!

Thank you Karen for staying with us. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Hope to see you again.
The cabin was clean, super comfortable and had all the amenities. And the hosts were exceptionally nice and communicative. But what sets it apart is the way the 8 acre property has been developed for birds, and birders. They have a HUGE “bird garden” with tons of feeders adjacent to the cabin but there are also trails that take you around the property to other birding spots, with feeders and comfortable seating every where. A fabulous place to stay in any season.
The cabin was very clean, well stocked and comfy. There's a 'nature walk' through the property with signs along the way that are educational and words of wisdom. A section of the property is set up for bird watching with many different feeders. As birdwatchers that was our favorite area to hang out it. It's a great place to unwind, yet close enough to restaurants etc if that's what you want to do. I know we'll be back.

Wonderful place to relax and see birds and wildlife
The cabin was very clean and wonderfully decorated! The attention to all the little details that make our stay so special was everywhere! Jen and Greg have worked so hard making wonderful paths that wind around the property giving the traveler different experiences. I love the painted rocks marking the trails and the little signs along the way! There were different types of bird feeders everywhere and the common area was a great place to set up my camera to capture the birds! I saw many species of hummingbirds and other birds that were firsts for me! We very much enjoyed ourselves!

About the host
Hosted by Jen Scialdone
My family and I have been working for over 3 years now to create a nature retreat focused on birds and the abundance of wildlife we have to share with our guests. We love hearing about the experiences our guests have while on our property.
Why they chose this property
RAMSEY CANYON CABINS IS A HAVEN FOR A VARIETY OF WILDLIFE AND NATURAL BEAUTY! Ramsey Canyon in southern Arizona is home to a variety of hummingbird species, including Anna's, Berylline, Black Chinned, Blue-throated, Broad-billed, Broad-tailed, Costa's, Magnificent and Lucifers. Also roaming the property you will find an abundance of Coues whitetail deer, Goulds turkeys, javelina, and you may even catch a glimpse of the elusive coatimundi. At night, the long nose bats come out and will give you quite a show with their impressive aerial moves. The property sits at 5500' and is part of what is called a "sky island" which is a unique ecosystem that sustains a variety of unique flora and fauna. The temperatures are 15-20* cooler than Phoenix and 10-15* cooler than Tucson making it a perfect getaway to beat the summer heat! Winter snows can completely transform the canyons beauty. Whatever season you choose, Ramsey Canyon is a welcome escape from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Online booking now available or call Jen at 520-255-9166 with any questions you may have about our lodging.
Sierra Vista / Ramsey Canyon is considered the hummingbird capitol of the nation!
What makes this property unique
Ramsey Canyon Preserve is just .3 miles and a few minutes walk or golf cart ride away. Southeastern Arizona is an ecological crossroads, where the Sierra Madre of Mexico, the Rocky Mountains, and the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts all come together. The abrupt rise of mountains like the Huachucas from the surrounding arid grasslands creates “sky islands” that harbor tremendous habitat diversity and form stepping stones to the tropics. This combination of factors gives Ramsey Canyon Preserve its notabl variety of plant and animal life, including such southwestern specialties as Apache and Chihuahua pines, ridge-nosed rattlesnake, lesser long-nosed bat, elegant trogon, and Rivoli's and Anna's hummingbirds.
