Awesome Stay

We had a wonderful time. Property was amazing, clean, and really quiet. We enjoyed the plentiful deer and turkeys which frequently came near the cabin. Just a wonderful time for our family at this property

Amazing family vacation

Quiet Secluded Get away

Rented both houses on this property for added space for 2 families. The area is beautiful quiet with lots of wild life. Great fishing in both the pond and river.

Fantastic Place

We stay in this area every year. This is the best place so far. Every bedroom had a great TV! Best TV arrangement and channels galore. Great views, rockers on the porch, excellent internet, and an outstanding host.

We loved our peaceful stay at the cabin! We rented the house for a week and absolutely loved everything about our trip! The house is cozy and warm, it is quiet and tranquil! We loved exploring the property, the town of Sparta and it was super easy to explore lots of small surrounding mountain towns! We will be back for sure! It’s wonderful to take a ride on the parkway, which is awesome that it is so close by. The little farm store down the road was incredible and had the most delicious homemade everything!! Thank you so much for opening your property to us to enjoy!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was spotless and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for the meals we cooked. David was very responsive to any questions we had. The location was perfect, close to downtown sparta but still felt very private. The kids had a great time fishing in the pond and the river.

Family get-together

Family (including mini dachshund) from 3 locations got together for an overdue visit. Our plan was to just visit and relax...and eat. This was the perfect location and we met our "goals" ;-) The house was super clean and had all the amenities we needed. David, our host was quick to respond to questions via phone and text message. We would definitely think about staying here again.

Great, relaxing place!

We enjoyed our stay! The house is very peaceful and relaxing. We fished literally the whole trip and I believe everyone caught several fish. The house was clean. The space worked fine. David was always super responsive and helpful! The river access is near another house on the property, so we didn’t utilize that (although we were told we could so I don’t think it’s a problem). But the pond was the best asset and it was nice just to walk right outside the door and drop a line in. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

We stayed at this property over a long weekend and had a fantastic time. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. The property is very private, easy to access, and conveniently located just a short drive from downtown Sparta.Sparta is a quaint town with plenty to see and do, making it a great destination for a relaxing getaway. The pond on the property was a wonderful feature and would keep little ones entertained for hours fishing and exploring. During our stay, we saw several deer and enjoyed visits from the resident groundhog, who made a morning appearance each day.The house was exceptionally well stocked with supplies, so I would recommend checking out what's available before heading to the grocery store. Communication with the property owner was outstanding, with extremely quick responses to any questions or issues that arose.We spent a lot of time relaxing on the porch playing cards and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was the night sky. The area is truly rural, with very little light pollution and no nearby streetlights. The star viewing was incredible, and we could easily see the Milky Way. It brought back memories of what many of us remember seeing as a child but rarely get the opportunity to experience today.If you're looking for a slow-paced, quiet getaway where you can unwind, enjoy nature, and experience some truly amazing stargazing, I would absolutely recommend this property.

Perfect location for rest and relaxation

The family had an awesome time. Very comfortable. Sitting at the bonfire under the clear sky was enjoying. Wish we had a few extra days before returning to our busy lives. Looking forward to coming back.

A true sanctuary!

My husband and I were the first occupants of this lovely new house! The owners were so gracious and inviting. The drive was so easy up to a lovely secluded area with a pond in front with 2 piers! It was the most peaceful vacation we have ever had. We awakened to deer in the front yard. I can’t say enough about the owners, Pat and Larry! We had everything we needed and more. Thank you so very much for making this our new home away from home!
