The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need to cook and dine in, while the custom-finished bathroom adds a unique, high-end touch. With warm wood accents, inviting furnishings, central heating and air conditioning, and a clean, quiet atmosphere, this home is designed to help you relax after a day of exploring the Black Hills.
Guest Access:
Guests will have full, private access to the entire home for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The property includes a dedicated driveway with space for one vehicle—please use the spot to the left, next to the deck surrounding the parking area. The home is the back house on the property.
Due to the location in historic Lead, space is limited and we are unable to accommodate trailers. If you plan to bring one, please contact the City of Lead in advance to arrange appropriate parking.
The Neighborhood:
The Miner’s Getaway is located in the heart of historic Lead, a charming mountain town nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Just a short walk from Main Street, you’ll find local restaurants, shops, and rich mining history around every corner.
Lead is the perfect base for exploring nearby Deadwood, Terry Peak Ski Area, and miles of hiking, biking, and ATV trails. Whether you’re here for outdoor adventure, local events, or a quiet mountain escape, this location offers the best of both convenience and small-town charm.
Getting Around:
Getting around Lead is easy from this location. The home is just a short walk to Main Street, where you’ll find restaurants, bars, shops, and a 24-hour Common Cents gas station for quick essentials.
For exploring beyond Lead, Deadwood is only about 3 miles away, and Terry Peak Ski Area is just a short drive up the hill. Having a vehicle is recommended for visiting surrounding areas, especially in the winter months, but you can enjoy many local spots on foot right from the property.
Other Things to Note:
Lead is a beautiful mountain town with steep streets and changing weather conditions, especially in the winter. During snowy or icy conditions, we strongly recommend a vehicle with good traction or 4WD.
Please note that the driveway entrance is located on a hill, which can become slippery in winter months. Taking it slow and using appropriate vehicles will help ensure a smooth arrival and stay.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy and want you to enjoy a relaxed, uninterrupted stay. The home is set up for easy self check-in, so you can arrive on your own schedule.
That said, we’re always available if you need anything during your stay. Feel free to reach out through the app with any questions, and we’re happy to help or provide local recommendations.

This unique property was a joy to stay in for our honeymoon week. The decor, location, and host made this a place I would highly recommend for a special experience.
We stayed here for a weekend getaway. The location was perfect as we came to the Black Hills to ride the Mickelson Trail and enjoy the fall colors which were spectacular. This house is in a great location to tour through the Black Hills. Its very clean, quiet, spacious for two. We loved it and would go back again.

I would definitely stay here again! It’s located in the perfect spot in The Hills where you’re not too far away from everything there is to do. The property was clean and the owner was very easy to work with. 10/10!
