Thanks David for a great review. It seems like something must have gone wrong when you submitted the review and it shows up as 1 star. We strive to make sure that our guests get the best experience possible and was evident from your review. Not sure what went wrong during the review process.
Thanks Kimberly for your review. Something must have gone wrong during the rating process, as it does not reflect what you mentioned about the place. I had issues with VRBO ratings page where if you select on 5th star, it only shows 1 star and you have to tap on the 5th star twice to highlight all 5 stars. I hope VRBO will fix the bug on their end so correct rating can be reflected.
We had a wonderful stay here. The house was clean and well equipped with spices, toiletries and board games. The game room was a bonus and kids and adults both enjoyed it. The patio looks out into green trees and it was very relaxing to spend time here. The customer service was great too and they were available to answer any questions we had. The lake close by is beautiful.
The only drawback is that it is 45 min from Yosemite.
Overall a great place. I’d totally recommend this to families wanting to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
My family and I spent one week in June at this house. We felt very comfortable and welcoming. Manisha, the hostess, was very resourceful and responded to all our questions promptly. The house is at the very convenient location. It has everything one needs, including excellent game room, board games and TV with Netflix. It is very clean and has AC. We definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested without any reservations.

Thank you Elena for awesome review and appreciating the house. I am looking forward to host you again in future.
No power and no generator. Extreme heat and all food spoiled.
If they get a generator I would stay again. The house was nice and clean. We would have loved to enjoy the game room more but again no power so playing in the dark was not optimal.

Hello Erica,
Thanks for your review. I am so sorry that you had power outage multiple times during the stay. I had not seen power outages that lasted more than few hours before this event. Unfortunately this year we had seen extreme weather and PG&E blamed the power outage on extreme weather. I was unaware of the power outage situation when the entire town of Groveland was in dark. I could have suggested few things, but it was too late by the time I learned about the outage.
I will definitely consider your suggestion to add a generator or Battery backup in future.
Again I am sorry that you had to go through such experience.
The home is perfect for family and friends to stay and feel very comfortable. Ms. Patel was a perfect host checking in through email and answering our questions quickly. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs throughout the world and she has really made sure you have everything you might need from spices, kitchen utensils, paper products, bathroom needs, extra blankets, laundry needs, create a hot chocolate station for a warm welcome, the bathrooms were stocked as though you were staying in a nice hotel. The game room was a BIG bonus when you have kids and it is cold outside. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to create lasting memories.

Hello Tammy, I am really glad that your stay was comfortable at Ray of moon. I am really glad that you enjoyed the space specifically the game room. Thankyou for appreciating the details in the house and thank you for a great review. It was a pleasure hosting you and looking forward to hosting you again!
Easy check in and check out process. The host, Manisha, communicated with us the whole time letting us know before we checked in that the area was experiencing power outages. Luckily those got resolved before we checked in and the house was still cleaned for us to arrive
Very large and clean place. I would stay again with more family members to make better use of all the rooms since this time was just 3.
A/C worked well. Washer and dryer worked well.
Some of the windows don’t have blinds or curtains which would have just made us feel safer and have more privacy at night when we can’t see outside

We had a wonderful time. Property was very spacious for our group! The house was a little dirty. Feel like it was cleaner when we left then when we arrived. There were no ping pong balls the pool table top was dirty and the triangle to set the balls was broken. Downstairs beds felt very flimsy so wouldn’t want anyone large or two people to sleep in them. We forgot a sentimental spreader in the dishwasher and have been unable to get a response to see if we can pay to have it shipped back. Be prepared for power outage as it happened to us and the nieghbor said it happens often.

Misrepresented listing
I really wanted to like this place, as the listing for it looks great, but other than the location and proximity to Yosemite it was utterly disappointing. When we first got there, the original door code they gave me didn’t work (luckily the host provided a second one) and there was no power. We found out from the neighbor that the host actually moved because the frequent power outages, yet they don’t provide a generator for guests. It went out both days we were there for a couple hours, and in 100+°F weather the kids with us quickly started feeling unwell. Then came the cleanliness, which was the grossest place I’ve ever stayed. There were moldy, rotting dishes in the dishwasher, dirty dishes put back in the cupboards, hairs and A PIECE OF AN ONION PEEL in the beds, sticky floors, garbage around the lot and in the house. There was not enough clean bedding in the linen closet for all of us, so we had to ration it between us all. Finally, the rules listed on the page here are nothing compared to the 5 page rule book they have at the residence trying to absolve themselves of any liability, which also mentions the surveillance cameras (one in the front, one on the back balcony) that is not mentioned on the listing (although according to Vrbo, that could be grounds for being kicked off the platform). The host did refund us the cleaning fee, but overall the place is not worth the price, and if you do stay you should expect to lose power for a couple hours most days in the summer.

Thanks for your review. I wish you had communicated issues that you mentioned in the review during your stay, as some of them you never mentioned until the review. I had mentioned that cleaning crew did miss the dishwasher and refunded the cleaning fees. I also wish you had mentioned the truth in your review and a lot is incorrect and clearly evident from reviews of our property from other guests. Power outages are not in our control and we are working towards a solution if that happens in future. However this year we had 4 power outages for the entire summer and they typically lasted for couple hours or less. There were lot of improvements made to the grid and service compared to last year. You mentioned about the camera, it is clearly listed in the rental agreement where we clearly mention that we only have outside camera for security.
Nice location that was close to Yosemite. Kids loved the game room and the beach area. House was well stocked and had everything we needed. Overall wonderful vacation.
There were 11 adults that stayed here and it all worked out perfectly. We enjoyed the balcony and the game room. There was plenty of room for everyone. The location was wonderful. We saw wild turkeys and deer. Do not leave your empty drink containers in the house, as the ants will find it. We started putting the containers outside by the door and then taking to the trash outside. There was ant spray we used, which helped tremendously. It was a fun time and we would stay here again.
Lots of places look great in photos and then disappoint. Ray of Moon is even better than it looks in the photos! Upstairs layout is spacious and open—great for a large group or family. Sleeping spaces also worked out great. Kitchen is super well stocked. We didn't need Manisha for anything, but I she checked in and seemed easy to reach had we needed anything.
Very clean and with fun extras included. Check in process to the resort took forever and $40 per car seemed excessive for parking but the property was great and great location. Very comfortable stay and lots of fun things to do. Game room with air hockey, ping pong and pool was our favorite!

Thank you Brandon for providing a great review. I am glad that you enjoyed the space and specially the game room. I am sorry that you had a long waiting at the main gate, sometimes it gets really busy. Unfortunately $40 entry fee is universal for all rental places in the PML and is collected by the community. I am sure you will find that fee well worth with all the amenities that are open during the summer time.
