What you will love in the neighborhood
Relax and enjoy the peace at Pine Mountain Lake, you’ll be in the woods, with the deer and the squirrels. Inside our private gated community is an 18 Hole championship golf course, private lake with 3 beaches which boast swimming, kayaking, Stand Up Paddle boards and fishing.
Hike the many trails, swimming pool, tennis courts, archery and more!
See the area the way the pioneers did—on horseback. Horseback ride through the countryside at the Pine Mountain Lake Equestrian Center.
Yosemite National Park
Located just 33 miles from our house is Yosemite National Park . It is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Yosemite is best known for its waterfalls, rivers, towering granite monoliths, deep valleys and ancient giant sequoias a vast wilderness area, and much more within its nearly 1,200 square miles of parkland for you to explore.
Groveland
Groveland is a quaint, historic town that played key roles in the California Gold Rush and in the history of Yosemite.
It is a gateway to the Stanislaus National Forest and is known for the historic Iron Door Saloon.
This town is part of the Mark Twain Bret Harte Trail. A treasure of natural wonders and lively gold rush history.
Most of the Grovland action is on
Stroll down Main Street
One of the most notable businesses downtown is the Iron Door Saloon. Founded in 1852, this is the longest continually operating saloon in all of California. Step up to the bar, which is the original from when it first opened, and order one of their signature drinks. You'll quickly be transported back through time to the Old West.
You’ll find good food, drinks and live music at the Groveland Hotel and the Hotel Charlotte.
For coffee and nature lovers the best spot is Mountain Sage further down the Hwy 120.
Just west of Groveland on Highway 120, Around the Horn Brewing Company is a fun-spirited micro brewery where there's something for everyone, including those who don't particularly care for beer. Their beers are always changing, so there's no getting bored there.
Groveland Museum
Not only was Groveland a key town during the Gold Rush, it was also the base of operations when the O'Shaughnessy Dam was being constructed to form Hetch Hetchy Reservoir that would provide San Francisco with a stable water source.
The Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum located next to the local library was founded to keep the many stories of the community (natural and cultural) alive, and share them to the many visitors who come through the area.
Jump of a Rock
Rainbow pool a secret local spot is located nearby off the Hwy 120. You can relax on a warm rock or swim in the pool while watching people jump into the waterfall pool .
Hike the many trails
Groveland is the Gateway to Yosemite and is surrounded by Stanislaus National Forest, as such no trip here would be complete without exploring at least a few of the many hiking trails. Hiking is the #1 visitor activity in Tuolumne County after all. There are many trails to choose with a great selection of difficulties and terrains, such as the Carlon Falls Trail and Wapama Falls Trail at Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. You can choose to explore yourself, but a great option is to take a guided hike to find the true hidden gems of the area.
Embark on a White Water Adventure
World-famous whitewater rafting offers everything from float boats to Class 5 runs on the Tuolumne and Stanislaus Rivers. The Wild and Scenic Tuolumne, named #1 rafting river by the San Francisco Chronicle, is California’s premier wilderness whitewater.
Bike in the Woods
Tuolumne County offers up some of the most fun on two wheels around. Road and mountain biking is evolving fast in Tuolumne County, and whether you’re just starting out or are a seasoned veteran of the cycling world, there’s a trail with your name on it. The Ferretti Road Non-Motorized Trail Network just outside of Groveland includes 1.3 miles of bike-only trail that can riden in any direction and features long drops, log ride, jumps, berms, and rollers.
After all that action you’ll be ready to relax
Melt Away in Relaxation
The brand new indoor/outdoor spa at Rush Creek Lodge at Yosemite is filled with extraordinary elements inspired by the natural beauty and power of Yosemite. Imagination has taken form with Warm Waterfall Coves, Aromatherapy Steam Room, and Himalayan Salt Sauna leading to a Cool Mist Room and an innovative Sensory Room that will genuinely transform you.

Visit Jamestown where several of the town’s buildings that date back to the 1870s and 1880s are occupied by quaint historic inns, restaurants, shops, brewery and wine tasting room. See the historic “movie star locomotive,” the Sierra No. 3®, take a ride on famous Sierra No. 28 and go on a tour of one of the few remaining working railroad roundhouses in America at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.
Step back into California’s Gold Rush history in Columbia State Historic Park where you can stroll along wooden sidewalks, ride an authentic stagecoach (your dog can too!), pan for gold and chat with knowledgeable and friendly townspeople dressed in period attire.
