About this property
Avila Valley House
Based at the entrance of See Canyon, overlooking Avila Valley and only 2 miles to Avila Beach. This wonderful home offers privacy, incredible views and peaceful nature vibes. The location is one of the best in the county, with a unique microclimate that folds the fresh ocean air into the warm valley heat. Nestled near Pismo beach, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Edna Valley, it's just a short drive to wine tasting, kayaking or exploring farmers market. The house was built in the 1950's and has been updated respectively to preserve it's character. It offers three bedrooms and three bathroom. One of the bedrooms/bathrooms is located in a detached unit 20 steps from the main house, we've dubbed "The Tree House" bedroom. All bedrooms are connected to a bathroom for additional privacy. The house offers a very nice outdoor seating area and a barbecue for outdoor cooking. Sleeps 6 comfortably, up to 8 with children.

Have stayed here twice before and always enjoyed the place and location. We had a few issues with the property when we stayed last month a plumbing problem & some minor issues however they sent a plumber out right away& when I addressed the issues with property manager after our stay they were very responsive & were happy these issues where brought to their attention so I’m keeping the 5 stars just check & see if all was resolved.
This was our second time staying at Avila Valley House. A quiet refuge from the world, it's a lovely place to relax and unwind! The beach is minutes from the house, as is wine tasting and all the central coast has to offer.
The Avila Valley House was just perfect for our family gathering to celebrate our grad! This space is beautiful inside & out. Well appointed & comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. And the view from the patio…wow! Lauren is a super host. Easy communication. Highly recommend for a graduation or parents weekend or just to visit SLO!
Lovely property conveniently located in San Luis Obispo
Family Birthday celebration that couldn't be more perfect. While home was older, it was very clean, comfortable and relaxing for a party of 4. Adequate space in living room and dining area to visit/talk. Bedrooms/bathrooms comfortable. Property conveniently located between Avila Beach and Wine Tasting region. 80 y/o mother in-law very happy! Kitchen stocked and a mixture of old/new. Property Manager Lauren very accessible for questions etc. All around a lovely long weekend respite.
We absolutely loved this quiet, beautifully rustic and very unique property. We ended every evening around the outdoor fire pit and enjoyed the views of the vineyard, majestic oak trees, and surrounding hillsides. From the patio area, my husband filmed a time laps of the clouds rolling down into the valley. Our magical mini 4 night, 5 day vacation was a family reunion of 20 people, with 3 different vacation rentals. The two other rentals were in Avila Beach proper, which offered convenience to restaurants and wine tasting rooms, but my siblings complained of noise and smaller homes. Our Avila Valley home was spacious and definitely the better peaceful quiet option for our group of 6 adults and 2 toddlers. Highlights of our stay included golf at Avila Beach golf course followed by outdoor concert and dinner at Mulligans, then karaoke at Mr Rick’s. Half day outing to SLO for breakfast at Louisa's and shopping, Kelsey See Winery, lunch on the 3rd Avila pier while watching sea otters and seal lions, then on to Pelaton wine tasting room. The Barn off highway 101 was perfect for our grandkids, and so was the aquarium in Avila Beach, where we met Mitch the octopus, and peanut butter and jelly ( male and female sharks) We ventured to SLO Ranch for lunch and to a great finale dinner at Oyster Loft in Pismo. So much to do, and great half way meeting point for our Bay Area family and our OC families. Lauren our host was a fantastic communicator and she made us feel very welcome.
We had a small wedding party and loved the accommodations here. It had the perfect amount of rooms for us but also was a perfect size for us to be able to hang out with our other friends while in the area. Easy drive to Avilla or Downtown!
2nd year booking this house for our annual sister's retreat. Love the location and the set-up of the house. Allows for great privacy and every bedroom has it's own bathroom! Love the kitty that visits mornings and evenings, the fire pit and the BBQ. Highly recommend!
This property was just about perfect for us. The three bedrooms were very separate and each had a bathroom. Living room was spacious although we spent most of the time on the patio around the fire pit or overlooking the valley below us. The kitchen was compact but had what we needed for our group. Owners were helpful at check-in and very responsive with any questions during our stay. Great place that we will return to in the future.
We stayed in Avila to attend the Good Vibes concert....The location of this house was perfect so close and easy access to town and beach. The house was so comfortable as well as well planned out. The detached bedroom was really great and perfect for my friends!
I highly recommend it!
Cozy, nicely furnished home in an excellent location. Close to the beach and close to beautiful San Luis Obispo, a super cute walking town with great restaurants. Best of all, the house has awesome views from pretty much everywhere! We had wonderful times by the fire pit, though we ran out of gas the last night. And our bed had the best mattress. Totally recommend this great home. Few minor things could be improved, like hooks to hand towels in the bathroom, a thorough cleaning in the kitchen, but the overall experience was just great!
Loved the house and the location. Very nice patio area with a great view. Only suggestions are to get new cushions for the outdoor furniture (they’re flat and uncomfortable) and the kitchen didn’t have any dish towels. Will come again!
Wonderful annual Sisters visit. Lovely grounds and well laid out house providing beautiful gathering spots and private space to retreat to. Friendly kitty kept us company and we had a bobcat visit the first night. Property Manager was quick to respond to any questions and lovely to deal with. Highly recommend!
This is by far our favorite place we have stayed at in Avila. It is so relaxing and peaceful. The home is surrounded by nature and you feel far from the hustle of the city yet it’s a quick drive to the beach. The home has everything you need. It was clean and the beds were very comfy. The tree house room was perfect for my son and his girlfriend. The host was very attentive and would reply quickly. We look forward to staying again soon!
We spent 10 nights at the Avila Valley house, during which we were joined by our daughter, son-in-law and teenage grandson for 5 nights. The sleeping space with the separate studio was perfect for our needs. The location of the property is perfect, being close to the beach and15 minutes from shopping and dining in SLO. We also loved walking the Bob Jones trail just down the hill, followed by lunch at the market.
The view from the patio is breathtaking, so much so that it was wonderful just spending time at the house. The house itself was clean and nicely furnished, and beds were comfortable. The kitchen, while well equipped, was a bit small for a longer stay. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
