Have stayed in the past and it is a wonderful space, great kitchen, screened in porch and fantastic access to the Lake! Looking forward to returning in August!
My family had a wonderful stay on the lake shore. It was so nice to be able to open all of the windows that faced the lake and breathe in the fresh lake air, while, relaxing on the large screened in porch. It was roomy enough and very comfortable for my family of 4.
This cottage is a jewel…tucked away on quiet Indian Point, it’s roomy and has one of the best equipped and outfitted kitchens on the island. The open plan dining and living rooms offer lots of space to gather and play. And the screen porch offers a bug-free spot to relax and enjoy this shady view of Lake Michigan.
The sunsets at this location were absolutely stunning. Having 3 floors with bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor allowed all of us to spread out when necessary. Great, secluded location, but close to town. Host was very responsive to all of our needs. Long, screened in porch is a great feature for any place on the island. Would highly recommend this location.
We enjoyed our stay. House was nice. Fit everyone well with a bedroom and bathroom on each of the three levels (1/2 bath on lowest level). I liked being lakefront and in the trees. Kept the house cool and we could still enjoy the view once we walked out near the water.
This home was in a great location on the island. Close to town yet felt very private. Beach is rocky but great location for kayaking or paddle boards. Donegal Bay is a very short car ride or bike ride away and is the most beautiful beach. Home is clean and has all amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Would recommend staying here.
Just a spectacular spot, right on the northwest corner of the island. Pete was prompt and clear in communicating. We appreciated his flexibility. A great stay on a very special island!
Nice woodland setting with beautiful view. Thank you for the firewood supply. We enjoyed bonfires and fireplace when too windy to be outside. Loved the screened porch.
Pete was very responsive and accommodating. The house was free of spiders (that's hard on the island) and the screened-in porch was well maintained and kept nearly all of the mosquitos out. I wished for more comfortable seating on the great porch and near the lake. Overall, we enjoyed this house - it made a great home base for the week.
The property is in wonderful location. It is close to town, but remote for privacy. It has beautiful views of Lake Michigan. It was large and suited our family well. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with everything we needed. The sunsets were gorgeous. The screened porch was nice when the bugs were heavy. The beds upstairs could be updated as they are pretty firm. Also the cleaning could be improved as there were many dead bugs and cobwebs on ceiling fans. Overall it was a great relaxing stay for our family.
This is the second time we’ve rented this property and it has several characteristics which make it unique. Location - lovely view of Lake Michigan including fabulous sunsets, but not far from town or a perfect public beach for walking & swimming. Thick vegetation makes it quiet & lush but there’s always a good breeze from the lake. Loons and saw a pelican, too & a snowshoe hare in yard. The screened in porch is a huge plus for relaxing bug-free. Big & well- equipped kitchen for foodies. Initially examined many rentals when we first came to Beaver Island & you’ll be hard pressed to find any with the same combination of attractive traits.
Beaver Island is a wonderful place to run away to and this cottage was certainly a great spot in which to do so. An amazing location, nestled away just enough to feel refreshingly isolated while close enough to town to make a short-term stay comfortably practical. The interior was clean and provided everything one might need. Pete was great with communicating, even though I had no issues in which needed attention. Definitely looking forward to returning one day soon!
Great week at a comfortable house with great view of the water, large screened in porch with dining table & seating area , great natural light with skylights, terrific kitchen, and very private, quiet location 5 minutes from gorgeous Donegal Beach & town. Our only suggestion would be to have a cleaning company dust cobwebs from corners, light fixtures, baseboards, etc. We plan to return in 2023.
We have stayed in multiple homes over the years on Beaver Island, and this was one of our favorites. Anyone who’s been to BI knows that It’s a tough environment to keep a property pristine, but this rental was more than acceptable. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. We loved spending time on the screened in porch, that always seemed to have a great breeze, and watching the water. I don’t think you could find a better place for a sunset.
My family - including three kids - had a great week staying in this house. Loved the proximity to Donegal Bay and to town, but it felt peaceful and remote at the house. Amazing kitchen, stocked with every device and cooking implement you might need. Gorgeous sunsets. Rooms worked really well for our family. Loved it!

About the host
Hosted by Pete Muldoon
I've been visiting Beaver Island my whole life, and lived here for a couple years in the late 70's as a kid. I work in Jackson Hole, WY for much of the summer, but am on the Island every chance I get. I'm a musician and woodworker/carpenter, and love spending time in outdoors. My partner Alyson and I put a lot of thought and effort into making sure our home will be a place for you to have a relaxing, stress free time by the lake on beautiful Beaver Island.
Why they chose this property
There are only a handful of properties that offer this kind of secluded beauty on Beaver Island, and fewer that are still close to town. It's a gorgeous custom home that will welcome you the moment you set foot in it!
What makes this property unique
The sunsets are amazing, and the screen in lakeside porch is perfect for enjoying them.
