This home is prefect for a large family. It’s beautiful and functional. Large rooms, game rooms, large 10 person table for dining and extra chairs. Large kitchen and bathrooms. This is one of my favorite rental homes. I love it! Well appointed and attention to detail everywhere. Class act!
We enjoyed the easy access to the beach and many activities. Our blended family enjoyed the game room with air hockey/pool table, camp fire and grilling dinners. We had ample room and enjoyed the outside sitting areas too. It was great.
There was plenty of room, things to do, places to sleep, etc in this excellent property. Even on a cold dreary weekend.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for the great review! We’re so glad the space, sleeping arrangements, and activities worked well for your family stay. It’s always our goal to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for groups, and we’re happy to hear it was a good fit. We’d love to host you again in the future!
This home was very well equipped and in an ideal location in a lovely residential neighborhood with a short walk to the beach and to downtown businesses. We had ample space for our family group of 14 which included two toddlers and an infant. This was a great choice for us and we look forward to returning!

Hello. This was one of the nicest properties we have stayed at using VRBO. It was perfect for our family. It is nicer than the pictures indicate. We were so happy upon our arrival. The owners have taken excellent care of this house and every room and bed was so comfortable. We will visit again.

Our family had such a wonderful vacation at this house! We’ve been coming to Ludington for years and this is the first time we’ve felt like we had enough space and everyone in the group was really comfortable. The games in the house were great to keep kids entertained (and fun for adults, too) and there was plenty of space for people of all ages to spend time in, separately or gathered together. The location can’t be beat! We loved it here and are looking forward to coming back next summer.

We loved hosting you Melissa! Thanks for the kind review!
Beautiful updated home with original details adding to its charm. The Ashby's have worked hard to create a welcoming vacation home within walking distance of the beach and lighthouse. Too many great things to possibly mention. Absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend.
We had a family gathering in Ludington with our four children's families and the house served us well. The open floor plan on the first floor provided lots of open space for us all to be together while there were enough rooms for privacy. If you enjoy interestingly repurposed grand legacy houses, this is the place for you. You also can't beat the short walk to the beach and House of Flavors!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so happy the home worked well for your family gathering and that you enjoyed both the open layout and the unique character of the house. It’s great to hear that the location near the beach and House of Flavors added to your stay—definitely two of our favorite local gems! We’d be honored to host your family again in the future.
We needed a house that could accommodate 16 people and this house did it. We had plenty of room and lots of extra activities to keep everyone entertained. The home had everything we needed except there were not enough towels for everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad the home was a great fit for your family gathering and that everyone had plenty of space and fun activities to enjoy. We appreciate your feedback about the towels—thank you for pointing that out. We'll be sure to improve our towel supply for larger groups in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to host you all again!
We hosted a summer work retreat, and loved the accommodations.
There was plenty of seating, both for dining and lounging.
The location was walkable both to the lake and downtown Ludington.
We only had one small inconvenience that 2 of the bedroom doors are barn doors, therefore lacking in privacy (which made it a touch uncomfortable while staying with colleagues).
All in all, we had a wonderful time!

Thanks for being a great guest Michele! We actually have now changed the barn doors to a regular door!
We are a large, extended family, ranging from teenagers to seniors. Location was excellent, a short walk to the beach as well as downtown. Kitchen and baths were clean, spacious, and well stocked with needed items. Furnishings were new and tastefully done. Beds were comfortable. With separate air conditioning units in each room, temperatures were adjustable throughout. We would strongly recommend this large and comfortable house for your next vacation.
This is a beautifully restored older home with it’s unique charm left intact. It was perfect for our family of 11 with bedrooms to spare. It has all new amenities, comfortable beds, a beautiful hot tub and propane fire table. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more.
A rainy day was not a problem with a kids playroom, arcade gaming system, fooseball table, air hockey table and shuffle board.
We walked a block to the beach and all over town. Beach toys, towels, sand mat and cart are included. Several bikes are available as well.
The location could not be better and we hope to be back next year!!

We loved our stay at this rental within walking distance of the downtown and beach. There was ample room, bright, pretty, newer appliances and probably better than the pictures. We had an issue with the fridge, but the owner was available and prompt to address it. The issue may have been too much new food all at once that dropped the temperature. It did seem to recover, once we gave it time. I've never experienced this phenomenon before despite many rentals over many years-- I blame the new technology, as it was a new fridge. Great stay! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your kind and detailed feedback! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the home’s location, space, and bright atmosphere—and that it exceeded expectations compared to the photos. We appreciate your understanding about the fridge and are happy we could address it quickly. Newer appliances can definitely be a bit finicky sometimes, especially with a big grocery haul! It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime.
A great place especially for ALL the ages of our family! We have rented 4 VRBO homes in Ludington total. This is the first home within the city! The walk ability was fantastic- - beach, putt putt golf, skate park and stores. I’d highly recommend this home. The only issue we had was with the co-owner who totally disregarded our concern. The kitchen air conditioner was leaking and water was running down the wall, so we turned it off as a conscientious renter. All week we left it off and he never sent a person to assess this problem!

Hi Janice, I am glad you had a great time! The air conditioner was not a quick fix. We had to hire an hvac company to completely remove it and re-install it. I am sorry if we had a miscommunication about it. I had asked you not to use that partiicular unit because we have 12 other air conditioning units in the house that would keep the house cool.
This large home is in a fantastic location in the heart of Ludington and only one block from Lake Michigan beach. We could walk to the beach, get an ice cream cone at House of Flavors, or check out the local art fair. The house had a nice big dining room table where the whole family could gather for meals and games. We also enjoyed the hot tub and yard games. The kitchen was equipped with cookware and dishes so we could cook group meals and the extra refrigerator in the garage was very helpful.
The house matched the description in the listing, however we were surprised by 2 things—3 of the upstairs bedrooms have sliding barn doors that don’t close fully so there is not full privacy in these rooms. And for guests with mobility concerns, although the first floor bathroom is large, there is a pinch point at the entrance to the bathroom so my family member’s walker did not fit through without folding it. Once inside the bathroom there was plenty of room for the walker. The railings on the front steps and back steps were sturdy and he could access the first floor safely. And the nearby beach has excellent access for someone using a walker.
