This was the perfect place for us with our two dogs. It was very clean and comfortable. The nook with the comfortable chairs overlooking the river was my favourite spot
Well equipped rental. Nice layout and outdoor space. Pool table and indoor games kept us entertained on the rainy days and the back deck became the morning coffee spot!

Beautiful spot, lots of amenities. Could use a ladder on the dock and a revision of the listing to make a few things less confusing.
Had a lovely stay here. Property was exactly as described. Property owner was accommodating and flexible with friendly, helpful and fast communication throughout.House is great, in a good location and with lovely views out over the river. The teens loved being able to kayak on the river and really enjoyed playing Pool and giant jenga in the games room.Worth noting that there aren’t doors on two of the bedrooms (which didn’t matter at all to us as they were private and at a distance from other spaces) in case you have a pet who you want to keep out of sleeping spaces. We have zero complaints, loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a family friendly place with lots of convenience, lots of space and great amenities. Thank you for having us!
My friends and I had a lovely stay! We loved sitting on the dock and looking out at the gorgeous river. We didn’t end up swimming at the river (instead we drove 7 minutes to a nearby beach) or taking the kayaks out but one definitely could if they wished! The fire pit was perfect in the evening to catch up and relax. The cottage was tidy and fairly clean, but the floors were a bit dirty (we just wore socks most of the weekend). Lots of sleeping spaces for a group— the king bedroom was especially lovely with the en suite bathroom. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely consider coming back!
The house was faultless. The front garden is a good play area for all, adults and kids. The back garden is awesome, shaded areas and quiet. The access to the river was not good. There were loose steps, the gate couldn't be securely closed. the dock did not allow easy access to kayaks or canoe. The garden swing is dangerous, loose nails and screws and we did not use it as it seemed ready to fall down. There are better places if you have small children or seniors who want to access the river.

No view and horrible access to river.
Needs a lot of TLC. The inside was OK except for the towel racks. The outside was horrendous. I was glad my grandson was Ill and couldn’t come because it would have been a nightmare. There is no view of the river because of the overgrowth. The swing was a broken down mess. There really was limited access to the river due to the treacherous broken down stairs.Very difficult for kayaking and fishing as the dock was slanted and half submerged in the water. Very disappointing property considering it has a fantastic potential .
The house is wonderful. It is set up well as a short term rental. There was plenty of room for everyone and a variety of activities to do. I did not give a 5/5 rating as we did not feel that the dock was up to the same level of quality as the rent of the house and property. A key reason that we rented this house was to explore the Burnt River by kayak. We even brought our own kayaks so that there would be 4 available kayaks. However, we felt is was very hard to get in and out of a kayak from the available dock. As a result, only one out our party of 5 actually went kayaking.
Based on my measurements, the lowest part of the dock was still about 21” above the water level. There were no available steps or ladder to assist. Fingers were pinched due to loose deck boards when attempting to get out of the kayak. We observed that about half of the dock was actually further up out of the water than the mentioned 21” and sloped away from the water’s edge.
As mentioned, this is a wonderful house and we would love to return next year. However, we would need to know that the the river could more easily be accessed.
