Modern Rustic Cabin Family GetAway

Our cabin is not a place to stay while you are on vacation... our cabin is the vacation. You can come and enjoy the surrounding areas if you want, but you can also just come and spend the entire time away from the outside world. It is a quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to just unwind.

Are you looking for a cozy, and quiet get-away spot to rest and relax? SereniTree Cabin is the perfect spot! Located up on a bluff, between Prairie Du Chien, WI and Ferryville, WI, this A- frame cabin gets you within 5 minutes from the river but allows you to be tucked back in a quiet wooded area. (Please note that there is about a mile of gravel that is maintained in order to get to the cabin. The driveway is gravel and a bit steep. During the winter it would be best to have AWD or 4WD) Enjoy your morning coffee in the outdoor room while you watch the deer and birds and relax by the fire table at night. There is plenty of space at SereniTree for enjoying.a movie or family and friends game night! Cabin is best suited for 4 adults and then the sleeper sofas could be used for up to 4 kids. If adults don't mind sofa sleepers then it could sleep up to 8 adults. The loft has a king sized bed, the there is also pull out sleeper sofas (Queen beds) in the upper and lower living room. The bedroom downstairs can be set up either with a king sized bed or two twin beds. It is always set up as a king unless the guest specifies they would prefer it as two twins.

Second time just as magical

We enjoyed our first stay so much, we returned as soon as we could (just three weeks later). This beautiful, modern cabin with peaceful woodland views makes for a marvelously restorative getaway.

Disconnecting

What a wonderful place to disconnect and get away from the chaos of life. You felt like you were in the trees. 16 different birds were picked up at one time on our bird app off the deck and we had a flock of turkeys, the male in full display for an hour, along with his harem of hens right at the top of the drive. Great hiking nearby and the bar in Ferryville had amazing burgers and homemade, hot, potato chips. If you are looking to get away from the crazy this is the place to do it. The cabin was perfect, clean, well equipped with any need you might have!!! A very easy stay!

Didn’t want to leave!

A dream getaway. Beautiful location. All the spaces were supremely comfortable, with a thousand nice touches. Packing tips, since you’re going to want to stay here: 1. If those sleeping in the Relax bed (which is a beautiful open loft) want to sleep in, bring eye masks to keep it dark. Great view of the treetops when you’re ready to wake up! 2. Good to know that the sound of the ice maker is just that, not someone trying to break in. Otherwise the quietest place we’ve stayed. 3. The driveway is quite steep, though our Prius (not 4 wheel drive) handled it just fine, tho we haven’t tested it in winter yet. We can’t wait to come back!

Another great stay at SereniTree

We really enjoyed our time here with our children. Quiet and peaceful- we made meals, went hiking, watched movies. In the words of my kids, it was “chill.” 😂 Thanks again for opening up your cabin to us- it’s a favorite!

Kevin and Heidi have been high school sweethearts and have been married for 21 years. Heidi grew up in Decorah, Iowa and Kevin in Ossian, Iowa. We live with our family of 6 in Ossian, Iowa. Our oldest four children (William, Dawn, Sami, and Anita) came to us via foster care. We opened our homes and our hearts and we were blessed to welcome them into our family. Then came our son Trevin also via a foster care placement and finally came our youngest Ella. Kevin hauls mail for the US Postal Service and Heidi works as an PrK-8th grade school social worker. Our family is a super busy family and decided that we need a quiet and relaxing place to go as a family and as a couple.

Why they chose this property

Kevin and I bought a small cabin right around the corner from this one a couple years ago. We have enjoyed getting to stay and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life at it. We have enjoyed sharing it with others and decided we wanted to build a larger cabin for families and friends to make memories together at. It has been a year long labor of love and we are so excited to share it with you! SereniTree Cabin is the perfect spot for you to enjoy each others company and nature. Let us help you unwind and give you a cozy comfy place to find SereniTree!

What makes this property unique

SereniTree Cabin is about 5 minutes from the River. It is fairly secluded and offers a great place to get away. Besides its modern rustic decor it also has a very unique feature. SereniTree offers a jetted soaking tub in a separate space just outside of the basement family room. It allows you to relax in a serene and peaceful area and truly escape it all. If you have been out on the river or out hiking during the day and you want a quick shower before heading inside you can step in there and shower off as well.
