We had a wonderful stay at this cabin in Arnold, California. The place was clean, beautiful, and very comfortable, and we truly enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be coming back again in the future.Just a small and friendly suggestion: the VRBO listing mentioned an electric vehicle charger, but it doesn’t appear on the Vacasa website and wasn’t available during our stay. Having one in the future would be a really nice bonus and would make the cabin even more EV-friendly, saving a trip to the supercharger. This didn’t affect our experience at all—we had a great stay and would happily return!

Cozy Home in a Great Location
The house is well-located and has a cozy feel, making it a pleasant place to stay. However, it could benefit from some refreshing updates and maintenance. With a bit of attention to detail, this property could be even more enjoyable.

Rustic cabin with a spa
This was our first time staying in Arnold, we loved the area with quick access to the start park and other outdoor activities.
The cabin is rustic but has most of the essentials. Our kids liked sleeping upstairs and we liked the spa. The kitchen is dated so we kept our cooking basic.

We had a wonderful experience!
Went with my husband and son for Father's Day. We loved the close proximity to the Arnold Rim Trail. We went for a few hikes and then came back to soak in the hot tub, enjoying the scenery. My 7 year old son loved the little bed in the peak of the A frame. We will definitely be returning, next time will bring our mountain bikes for the trail!

All of the above. We understand we can't control the weather, but this house was terribly unprepared for inclement weather. Driveway and walkway completely uncleared, barely made it up and into the front door, garage totally inaccessible. Finally got in, power was out. Zero flashlights, zero candles, no welcome book with info, not even a shovel anywhere on the property to help clear snow. This house needs a generator. I barely bumbled my way to get the gas fireplace going so we had some heat. The only light we had was from our cell phone flashlights, with dwindling batteries and no way to charge. This was actually a very serious situation as we were trapped with no response from any of the numbers we reached out to for several days. If not for the kindness of neighbors with generators to charge our phones, I don't know what we would have done. No way to cook food, no communication from anyone, it was a bad experience. Property should have been better prepared. And a tree fell on my car and my head while parked in the driveway, very lucky to escape without injury. It was like this for three days, terrible. My family was stressed and scared. As soon as there was a tiny break we got the hell out of there, three days early. I've filed a claim with the trip protection to get some kind of compensation, I think it's warranted. The house itself was kind of cool, probably better in the summer. But owners/property managers should better equip the place.

Missing some key things.
We stayed here for 3 nights during "Ski Week" in February of 2025. There are a few major issues we had with this place. The main issue is that there is no washer or dryer for guests to use. I didn't even look in the list of amenities because every house I've stayed at in the Arnold area has had a washer and dryer. When you go skiing you get wet. When you go in a hot tub you get wet. And there is no central heating, just a gas burning stove on the first floor, so clothes don't dry when you lay them out. The other issue I had is the lighting. Very dim and dark, and you have to figure things out when you first get in. Lots of loose cords and dimmers and interior motion detecting lights. And with the no central heating, the main room on the first floor never got warm. With all that said, the house is comfy, the green chair is a great place to read, a nice hot tub. But for the price and the small size of the place, no washer/dryer, weird lighting, I would not recommend this to other travelers.

Probably the worse experience we’ve ever had with rentals. First off check-in time was 4pm…..arrived at 4:20 and house cleaner was still there and didn’t finish until 7pm. She said was arrived late due to picking up her rental for her own vacation. She did a basic cleaning and washed sheets and a load of towels and handed the bin to my husband to put away. She pointed out broken trash can that she reported to Vacasa but they haven’t replaced it and we noticed the toaster was broken, the patio table broken, crumbs, dust under the dining table, the stove/oven needs to be replaced and MOUSE DROPPINGS in the kitchen that were found the next morning after checking in. We could also hear them in the cabinets at night! With the exception of the mouse issue, all other things reported to Vacasa and they offered their apologies and they would do their own investigation but that’s where it ended. We made the best of our 3 day vaca because the area of the cabin was perfect and Arnold is a great town but I don’t recommend this cabin at all and the price we paid, we feel cheated. I have videos of the broken items but can’t attach so the mouse droppings and dirty floor pics will have to do. Oh and the pics of this place, completely filtered. Very dark, dreary cabin. Renters beware!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay—especially during such an important and busy holiday weekend. This reservation followed a back-to-back booking, which can make same-day turnovers challenging, particularly during the 4th of July period. That said, a delayed check-in is not acceptable, and we're actively exploring solutions to avoid this in the future, including scheduling rest days or transitioning to longer lead times for cleanings. The maintenance issues you reported—such as the broken trash can, patio table, and toaster—are being addressed, and we apologize these were not previously flagged. As for the mouse droppings, these were not part of an ongoing infestation, but mice can occasionally enter mountain cabins. We take this seriously and have scheduled pest control to ensure the issue is fully resolved. The stove has been tested and is working properly, though we understand it may have seemed otherwise during your stay. We appreciate your feedback and regret that the condition of the home and service did not meet expectations. Your comments help us improve, and we thank you for bringing them to our attention.

Hello Dawn, thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for the delayed check-in, cleanliness problems, and maintenance issues you faced, particularly the rodent activity, which is unacceptable. Your feedback has been passed on to our local team for prompt review and action. They have confirmed that the broken items will be fixed, the mouse issue addressed, and the stove is now functioning. We regret that your stay fell short of expectations and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. We hope to have the chance to provide you with a much better experience in the future.
This is an amazing house in an amazing location. We were able to walk to town on a nice path for dinner and a concert in the park! A lot of trains right out your front door to go explore and Big Trees park just up the road!
Cant wait to come back in the winter time!

Amazing Location & So Cozy
We loved our stay! If I could give it 10 stars I would. Everything from the furniture, to the beds, to the towels were all so cozy and comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. The super secret loft was a fun feature for the kids. Very clean upon our arrival. Arnold Rim hiking trail is literally out the back door and you can walk to the DT Arnold restaurants. Thanks for such a wonderful rustic cabin experience! Looking forward to going back soon.
