This was a great vacation. The communication with the owner was easy and fast, as we had to add a day at the last minute. The property was clean, comfortable, and super close to all the great attractions. The front porch on this house is large and a great place to unwind in the evenings...
This town is built on the foundations of outdoor activities involving fishing and boating. I normally stay at a local motel but this time selected a VRBO property to accommodate me and a friend on an annual fishing trip. The home was perfect for our needs-close to restaurants, entertainment, and access to fishing. I highly recommend!
This house is exactly as listed. I have a bad back which makes traveling difficult because I worry about getting an old or uncomfortable mattress. Ask three mattresses were high quality and very similar to my mattress. I was able to wake up pain free. We had three adults and one child (11) and we all very much enjoyed this rental. I highly recommend it. It was my first time renting through VRBO and it was a great experience.
Very cute cottage, just as pictured and described, with a nice yard, in pretty neighborhood right near the river. Spacious, clean, and comfortable, with everything you need. Well organized. Screened porch is a very nice space. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. The only downside is that you’re not allowed to turn the AC below 72 degrees (and the wifi thermostat would tattle on you if you did); but the ceiling fan in the bedroom made it cool enough that I could sleep (which I normally can’t unless it’s under 70 in my bedroom), and was even quiet enough that my hubby could still sleep too (which he usually can’t with a ceiling fan on). So I’d still highly recommend this place. It’s conveniently located for Crystal River as well as Homosassa Springs, and just half an hour from Weeki Wachee.
Amazing historic cottage one block from park/water
My husband & I plus our 21 yr-old son & his girlfriend stayed at the Cracker Cottage 5/31-6/2/2024. Pics don’t do it justice! It is perfect! Every detail is meticulously curated. The soft green, soft blue & light gray walls are soothing and the decorating is elegant farmhouse. Front porch with swing is great.Original dark pine floors- like in my grandparent’s home. The 1/2acre backyard with gazebo & picnic table was well used. The 1/2 bath, washer/dryer added a lot. Also, a recently built “Heritage Park” playground is just steps away. Our 3 young grandsons stopped by and they loved playing in the park & backyard. Our family stopped by and everyone fell in love with the Cracker Cottage! Well done❤️
The place was a simple cottage within walking distance of our favorite places to go in Homosassa. It was clean, quaint, quiet and wonderfully decorated. I love the screened in porch.
Second time I have stayed at this property. Love the charm of the house and the awesome front porch. Host is super helpful and loved the comp snacks and waters in the fridge!!! Always my first choice when coming to Old Homosassa!
With original wood floors and renovated interior, this quaint and quiet residence is a perfect place for peace and quiet with many accommodations nearby. The kitchen had a nice design with complimentary water, snacks, coffee, and condiments. The bathroom was roomy enough for both of us and the standup shower was also nice after a day on the water. We brought our boat and parked under the garage area and dropped in at the ramp about 1000' away. Having never been there we caught Snook and to my surprise a largemouth bass up the river towards the clear blue spring waters. We visited every bar in town and each one had a unique feel and style, with one even having monkeys! There was no getting away from old Florida charm with the huge oak trees and stylish little "cracker" homes tucked amongst the mature landscape. So if you are looking to get some peace and quiet, take a fishing trip, swim the clear blue springs, restaurant / bar hop or just hang around the property and relax, this is a great place to do so.
We had a short visit, but the house was in a great area to do some water sports, eat great food and it explore. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed!!!
