Mountain Hideout is highly loved 1 bedroom condo that can sleep 3. A Great Value on Mt. Crested Butte! Easy access to the hot tub and ski shuttle, both just outside your door!

This comfortable and romantic mountain getaway has a full sized kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator and well supplied kitchen! If you prefer to eat out, simply take a 10 minute walk to Base area or hop on the free shuttle!

The living room has a sleeper sofa to accommodate another guest. Store skis, bikes, and additional belongings in the storage room!

*Please Note* LEGAL MAXIMUM STAY IS 29 NIGHTS. No exceptions.
No pets allowed. HOA has a strict no pets policy, no exceptions.

If available, can be booked together with our 3BR 2BA upstairs if you need more room! A total of 4BR 3BA in the same building!

Clean and perfect location

This property was great. Didn’t hear neighbors that much, the best location you could dream of. The bus that brings you to the base area pulls up to the properties driveway. Overall super clean property with everything you need. Would love to stay here again.

Wonderful and cozy condo!

Loved staying at this property for our trip to Crested Butte! Hosts were kind and responsive and the property was exactly as described. There is a quick 10 minute walk to the slopes or a free shuttle service, which we loved. We had a wonderful time!

Perfect Getaway

First of all the hosts are absolutely amazing, and were very accommodating. The place is in a perfect location, you can walk down the hill to the resort in less than 10, or bus there in less than 5. The hot tub is a super nice plus of this condo, and theres almost nothing negative about this place! I will say maybe could use a bit better kitchen towels/sponges. Overall, you will have all the essentials and have a wonderful stay!

Quiet Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed the quietness and fresh air at this apartment. The bed and couch were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, and towels were luxurious! The screens on the windows and back sliding door could use some maintenance, and the lighting indoors could have been much brighter. But these issues were a minor distraction. We would stay here again.

Condo in the ski village

A standard ski condo in the middle of the village, not terribly far from the slopes but Crested Butte also is not as quaint as some other ski villages with everything centrally-located and walkable (with restaurants and such). Good communication and simple check-in. The condo itself was decent, plain but clean. We did not sleep great, the bed was not terrible (we have definitely slept in worse), but not super comfortable either. Community hot tub and BBQ grill not too far from the back door. The hot tub was nice and well-maintained, luckily it was super quiet because of the off season and we had it to ourselves. Posted 10 pm closed hours. Parking was ample in the off season. Unfortunately because we did not arrive until evening and immediately went into town to eat, then with the early 10 am checkout, we slept in which is super rare with our busy lifestyle… and we basically woke up and had to immediately leave. A lot of money for spending just a couple of waking hours in the condo. Overall, a decent option considering the high rental prices in the area.

Great location!

Overall our stay was pleasant. No stairs to climb was a bonus! The bus stop which takes you to the base area is literally right out the front door. The bedroom was quite small and there were no luggage racks so we had to put our suitcases on the floor. The pillows were all very firm, would have been nice to have some other options. The cookware was very old and not safe to use, so we didn't. The light right out side the door was burnt out so getting into the room was challenging in the dark. My husband took a bulb from one of the bedroom lamps and put it in the hall. There was also a child in the condo above who ran everywhere while he was awake, which was a tad annoying. Overall the condo was pretty comfortable and the location was great! If the issues listed are addressed we may stay again in the future. Thank you for hosting us.

Chrissy, thanks for the suggestion about the luggage rack; we'd never thought of that! I will be sure to put a couple of fluffier/softer pillows in the closet. As for the pans, that is a bit confusing as we use those pans when we stay there, and they are safe. I will certainly inspect them to see what has changed. The condo association maintenance crew takes care of the lighting in the hallway; I'm sorry you arrived to find a burned out light blub in the hallway. We will alert them. The location is great and the bus is so convenient. We would love to host you again in the future!

Cozy affordable unit

For Crested Butte, this is an affordable unit. This is a ground floor unit on the back of the building. Thus views from the windows of the unit are primarily of the mountainside behind. The bedroom is fairly dark, though this makes for good sleeping. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and cookware. It does not have a dishwasher. Comfortable couch in living room. Bathroom has shower with plenty of hot water. The hot tub and its deck are just 50 feet from the patio door. The patio at the unit does not presently include seating or a table. There are no laundry facilities in the unit or at the buildings. A laundromat is available in the town of Crested Butte.

The patio door lock is broken, and the dowl rod they use for security does not fit. They did fix it quickly, but it should have never been listed with such safety issues (first-floor space on the back side of the building). The owner asked me to handle the work order, to which I said no, and he handled it, but it isn't exactly what you are expecting. My parking space was taken majority of the visit and they had me park off from my location. You are also on the first floor with tenants above you who are as quick as they can be but it becomes loud during the night. Extensive rules and walked through so may cobwebs for the cost.

Good location for the price

It is a ground floor condominium without use of patio due to snow or easy access to hot tub. Parking is at front door which is convenient, but sign on door states you must remain 15 ft back meaning you’re supposed to park in the middle of the lot? The shuttle is close.

Parking is 15ft from the building (which isn't in the middle of the lot, it's only a little ways back from the front door) to avoid falling snow and ice which builds up on the roof of the building during winter. There is easy access to the hot tub on a path between the buildings which is kept clear during the winter as described in the guest manual. However, the patio is indeed almost always covered with snow falling from the roof in the winter. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone looking at reviews!

Ski trip

My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay at this place! There was a little confusion on parking- follow the instructions that the McCarthys give you prior to arrival rather than the instructions listed right on the vbro site. Other than that, the location could not be better. We were right across the street from free mountain parking - so you may as well walk or take the shuttle. The shuttle to get downtown was right out the front door. There is also a communal hot tub that was very infrequently used by the other guests. On top of all of that, the McCarthys were great communicators and very easy to get a hold of. Would definitely recommend staying here on your trip to CB!

Why they chose this property

The location of this property was a significant factor in our purchase of it. It's centrally located and has easy access to everything you could need. Take a 5 minute walk to the base of the ski resort to grab a coffee or bite to eat. Take the shuttle just outside the front door to the ski resort, downtown Crested Butte, or Gunnison and the Gunnison airport! In the summer, you can ride your bike to the base area and be on the chairlift in about 5 minutes! Access to Gothic and the surrounding areas is very convenient. Just turn left on Gothic Rd!

We also enjoy the spacious feeling of the condo with spaces for everyone to gather together or some secluded spaces for some solitude. The kitchen is great and the hot tub is just up the hill. It's a great location!
