Clean with plenty of stairs to travel. The unit is convenient off the road but a ways its at least 30 minutes in a boat through the canals. The unit is basic so our extra cook ware and storage along with extra storage is suggested. Great for family-couples- those who dont mind stairs. :o)

The house is nice. The only issue I had was how close to the neighbors you are. Not the best of fishing spots either but still good times and relaxing.

Our boys loved the separate guest suite on the ground floor where they could hang out and watch tv and have their own snacks.

Beaches close, canal off the deck, birds galore

Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center less than half hour away on Mustang Island, but unique and wonderful birds right off the deck. Osprey, pelicans, herons, etc. Lots of steps, but we knew that. Any glitches were taken care of immediately. Several beaches so close and great seafood restaurants in the immediate area. We’ll be back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location for visiting family on the island and in town, plus near the national seashore, Malaquite Beach. The property was really clean and well-appointed. We had everything we needed to make a birthday breakfast with pancakes and cupcakes! Enjoyed a delicious lunch at Doc’s restaurant near the bridge. The accommodations were comfortable for the whole family, from 4 years old to 76 years old. We would be happy to return!

Great layout for large group

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We choose this property due to the layout, and that it could accommodate two teenagers in a separate space (the in-law suite). It was absolutely perfect for our needs. The property was clean upon arrival. We did enjoy ,and did use, the sun deck. Although the property is on the main road, it seemed fairly well insulated from the noise, and we loved having a few different restaurants next door. The only minor feedback we would give is, there was a faint smell of dog. We also do recommend a banister be installed on the second level of the staircase, as a member of our party did slip. Additionally, new patio furniture might want to be considered, as many of the chairs were quite rusty. Overall, however, the property was fantastic, and we would rent from Padre Escapes again.

Not worth it

Upon arriving at the condo there was trash outside, broken chair, and to top it off a dead rat. One of the bathrooms was broken which, they did fix. For the amount of money you’re spending they don’t make up the top bunk in the room with bunkbeds and obviously don’t pay attention to the details. The bed in the master is like sleeping on a piece of plywood.

We’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this one has just the very basics-one or two towels in the bathrooms, two kitchen towels, and no extras. Many homes I’ve stayed in have a coffee filter if there is a coffee maker, a few extra spatulas, etc. this home has the basics. Sufficient, but nothing extra. The location was convenient to eateries and CVS, and H‐E‐B was a short drive across the bridge.

Padre Vacay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall enjoyed the stay. A couple of issues occurred, but Padre Escapes group took care of the issues quickly. The unit was close to several different beach access roads. Restaurants and some shopping were nearby as well. Having the canal located behind the unit was perfect. The kids fished and swam, while the adults sat on the upper deck and enjoyed themselves. One downfall was there is an elevator in this 3 floor unit, but it was not accessible. This would have been an asset for us with my 84 year mother-in-law and 100% disabled vet son-in-law. We would have gladly paid extra for the use of the elevator.

Family Vaca 2024

Despite worries that a hurricane would ruin it, we were able to start our vacation on time. The unit was clean and ready when we arrived. Dishing off the back deck in the canal was fun-especially at night! Lots of bites. The canal was also good for paddle boarding. Good beaches weren’t too far away. Even though the property was “in town” and right off the main road, it was quiet. Lots of space for all of us to spread out or get together for food and games. Plenty of parking for everyone (we had three cars so one in the garage and two in parking spaces). Property managers were quick to respond to concerns even before we got there. Just an FYI, you do have to go outside to go from the mother-in-law suite to the main house. A ladder from the deck to the water would have been nice, too (but the fishing contingency said it would be in the way) Over all, we had a blast and will definitely look to getting the property again if we are able to get together again and head down to Padre Island!

Waterfront condo

Overall I’d say a very nice location. Easy to get to everywhere. Having a boat dock made things fun, although the dock is a shorty. Not a lot of fish caught but an ample supply of crabs to eat your bait. Door code was aggressively long but I was able to remember it. Otherwise get a notepad for your pocket. The bad. Both dishwashers were pretty foul. Smelled like dead fish. The downstairs fridge has many many dead nats inside. Nats in general were bad in both downstairs and upstairs. The jacuzzi tub upstairs was unplugged and maintenance cavity was left open. We never used it but could make others upset. I think as far as the very large cleaning fee that is applied, maybe 1/4 of it went towards actually cleaning. Now disclaimer, I never reached out to the management while we were there. They could have very well been responsive and fixed any issues, but I’m a first impressions kind of guy. As I think most people are.
