Great house for young kids

This house was great for our family (kids are 4 and 2). There were kids toys and books already at the house, and easy to use baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs which were a nice convenience. The owners were very responsive when we had questions as well. We had a great stay!

Paradise retreat

Our family had an amazing time and the home is absolutely beautiful. We have stayed at other BHI locations and this property is our favorite by far!! Stef was a great host who pays close attention to detail! The house comes with all amenities, I mean everything, you literally just need to bring your menu plan. You will definitely fall in love with this high end retreat!!

My husband and our three children (10 y/o son and twin daughters age 6) spent 4 nights, and had a blast. The property exceeded our expectations with cleanliness, modern conveniences, and a kitchen that's stocked for cooking!! It was the perfect size for us and our children (given their ages). WONDERFUL respite!

My husband’s birthday was 2/8 and I wanted to take him on an happy excursion. BHI is one of our favorite places. It’s a hop, skip & a jump from where we live but it feels like you’re SO far away….true bliss. I couldn’t believe my luck when I stumbled across this slice of heaven! THRILLED that our dates were available and the owner was SO accommodating! 1st rate communication & made us feel TRULY welcome! That is rare to come by and when you do….WOW, just WOW! The house is beautifully decorated and incredibly well appointed! We had a FABULOUS time! Stef was magnificent! I was almost hesitant to share how much I enjoyed this so it could be my little secret ;) HIGHEST recommendation for this property!

The house had everything we could have needed for the week from cooking supplies, tons of spices, beach gear, kids toys/games, baby gates, pack n play, bug spray, the list goes on and on. The decor is beautiful and every detail is well thought out. The beds were comfy with lots of extra blankets and nice quality bath towels. This is the most well stocked rental I have stayed at. The host was quick to respond and help with anything we needed. This was our first time to Bald Head Island and we will definitely be back!

Home away from home!

Truly a home away from home! This was our first trip to BHI, and this home was perfect! The property is newly renovated and the owner was fantastic to deal with. There was plenty of space for our family and children. The separate bedroom over the garage gave the grandparents a quiet retreat. The home was very clean and very well stocked. All the extra amenities allowed us to pack more lightly, which was so helpful with the ferry. The location of the home was the best of both the maritime forest and the beach. We could easily walk to the marsh or bike to east beach. We can’t wait to go back!

We loved our Vacaysh

We just finished a wonderful week at Vacaysh. If you have small kids, this is a great rental to consider for your family. The hosts have thought of everything to make it kid friendly: retractable safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, baby monitor, sound machines, plastic plates and cups, highchair, books and games, beach toys, Puddle Jumper floatie, they've thought of it all! (We even forgot to put our bag of toys on the ferry and the kids were plenty occupied with the stuff already in the house.) This is also a great location for families. Nearby East Beach is a very swimmable beach and there is plenty of space to play in the sand. This stretch of beach also has some awesome tide pools at low tide, creating a mini oasis for the littles who find the ocean a bit rough. Kid friendly nature classes at the Conservancy are a short golf cart ride away too. The house itself is beautiful and the effort that the hosts put into the recent remodel shines through. Chic yet cozy decor creates an inviting space for guests, with multiple eating surfaces and places to relax. The crofter (room above the garage) was a nice grandparent retreat, close enough to spend time together but a nice separation during down time. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook every meal we'd planned to using the tools available. A set of beach towels meant we didn't have to bring our own! The only thing that we were happy to have that the house didn't was a small step stool for the kids' bathroom. The beautiful vanity is just a bit too tall for my little people. Stef was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was very responsive to questions before and during our stay and has taken great care to ensure her guests feel welcome. We hope to be able to return soon!

Why they chose this property

Keepers Landing is bliss. It's quiet, nestled in trees of the maritime forest yet so close to the action on the island's East side. You are 5 minutes from the sand and can hear the ocean in the distance from time to time on the front porch!

We have a private neighborhood dock out on the creek with a boardwalk and dock/kayak launch to explore and the community is highly walkable/bikeable.

What makes this property unique

We aim for folks to feel as relaxed and comfortable as we do when we are at our home! I strive to have a clean, well-stocked home for you to enjoy and we like to think of everything we can to make your stay as convenient, relaxing, and easy as possible!
