Katilin, thank you so much for your detailed review. Very useful. We have notified housekeeping that there weren’t matches in your cabin to start the wood burning stove. Matches are preferred over the propane lighter. As you experienced, San Diego Mountain Lodge on Hideout Mountain is a beautiful and tranquil environment. We’re so glad you could appreciate it even with the issues you experienced and we want you to come back so we can earn a 5-star review. 4-stars in our minds is not acceptable. We want you to know that we fired our welcoming mascot Woody the Woodpecker because he wouldn’t abide by his allotted pecking hours from only 3-4pm. He has been banished to live in a locked room (far away from Hideout Mountain) with a strobe light flashing all day, and with an 11-year old boy playing drums incessantly. In all seriousness, we have been attempting to chase him away and we think Woody has moved on, no longer near our super special cabin #12 (with the best views of the lake). We are now in the process of fixing all those holes he made over the last month. It’s very frustrating, and we understand how much he affected your experience. Since Woody will be gone when you return, please make sure you reach out directly to me (Francisco, your booking manager) prior to booking for a very special discount offer.
