Yes, the condo is beautiful, thanks. Regarding the temperature, our condo, like most in the area, does not have AC because we are at about 9,200 ft. elevation. You had just arrived around 5:30 pm on Sunday afternoon when you contacted us to have the pilot on the propane fireplace shut off. We asked you to open the windows and turn on the ceiling fans to allow the condo to cool, which has always worked for us and our guests over the past two years that we have owned the place. We did not hear anything else from you until Wednesday afternoon, when you alerted us that you had departed that morning because it was still too hot in the condo. You had left at that point, but we did send the maintenance team out in response to your complaint that the condo had not cooled as it usually does from the southern Rocky Mountain fresh air. The maintenance team found two contributing factors. First, due to the profound heat wave facing our country, the outside temperatures were 15 degrees hotter than we usually get at Taos Ski Valley, and secondly, because the propane fireplace pilot was on, it was hotter about 3-4 feet around the fireplace as you mentioned. As we have talked with other condo owners since buying the place, we had found that about half have their propane fireplace turned off in the summer, and the other half leave it on for use. We had, up until now, left ours on for use because many guests, including us, like to turn on the fireplace in the cool evenings in the summer. Many like the ambiance it creates. We have decided, given your experience during this heat wave, to keep the propane fireplace off in the summers moving forward.
