Lovely stay on Manasota Key
My daughter and I loved the cottage - it was clean, comfortable and very cute. It has a cute backyard area with a grill. It is a block from the beach, but the immediate area has a lot of homeowners who really don’t want you setting up in front on their houses judging by the number of Private Property signs, so we walked to Stump Pass Beach State Park every day. It is gorgeous! We used the wagon and beach supplies from the cottage. It was so easy. The only other item you may want is an umbrella. There were not many people on the beach. The water was warm and we swam and snorkeled. You can also drive and park there as well. The park charges a nominal fee - payable via a drop box or app. The surrounding area is not really walkable to shops or restaurants, nor is it particularly attractive once you drive off the key. We took the bikes and rode to a few places. We drove to Dearborne Street in Englewood for coffee shops, lunch - Mango Bistro is delicious and popular, avoid the 12 to1 pm crowd - and cute shops. There is a Publix supermarket less than a 10 minute drive from the rental. Overall this was a great place to stay.
