About this property

Quiet Mountain Home near Rocky Mountain National Park

LIC #6057
The perfect getaway in the Rocky Mountains. Only minutes from downtown and Rocky Mountain National Park, nestled on the edge of the forest covering Rams Horn Mountain. Hike out the back door and enjoy the abundant wildlife found here. Two decks offer ample space to breathe in the crisp mountain air while looking down on Mary's Lake and the Town of Estes Park below.
A classic mountain retreat with rough-hewn timber accents and abundant outdoor spaces to enjoy remind you that this town is all about the mountains and outdoors. Sleeping arrangements include a  master bedroom with a king bed, 2nd bedroom with a queen bed, and 3rd bedroom with a twin over twin bunk bed. Two living rooms with a total of 2 full-size couches and one loveseat (none of them are pull-out sleepers).
This stunning home features a  beautiful full kitchen with granite countertops, custom cabinets, a full-size stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and all the kitchen equipment you would expect to allow for preparing all the meals you want.
75" HD TVs in each of the two living rooms allow for entertainment both upstairs and downstairs. 65" HD TVs in two of the bedrooms - all four include Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN at no additional cost. The included high-speed internet is capable enough to handle streaming on all TVs and any workload you can throw at it.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor along with a full bathroom, living room, and laundry room. The upstairs is where you find the kitchen, dining, 2nd living room, half bath, and master bedroom with walk-in closet and 5 piece bathroom. A patio off the dining room has a gas grill. A wrap-around deck can be accessed from the upstairs living room and master bedroom. Fireplaces can be found in each living room and the master bedroom.
Sustainable practices and features include free use of the electric vehicle charger in the garage - 60 amp capable of charging any J1772 or Tesla.
This cozy home is part of a 22-unit association that has put together a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The neighbors are awesome and also enjoy the quiet nature of the neighborhood. If you are looking for a place to cut loose and be a little noisy, you will probably be disappointed here. The neighborhood adheres to the Estes Park municipal noise ordinance that is enforced after 10pm. They also appreciate and enforce the Dark Sky initiative that allows the sky to stay dark for wonderful stargazing.
The very best part about this location is the feeling of being in the wilderness with nothing but forest on two sides of the house - but only 5 minutes to town. There are two routes to downtown Estes Park giving options depending on which side of town you are going to avoid the summer traffic. Also, you can get to the entrance of RMNP in less than 10 minutes without having to go through downtown Estes Park when it's busy.
Head south on St Vrain/Hwy 7 out of town for one of the best scenic drives in the entire state - also called the Peak to Peak Hwy - it takes you right past Longs Peak and some of the most beautiful views of the northern mountains you can find. The Wild Basin entrance to RMNP can be found off this road just 20 minutes to the south of the house.
IMPORTANT: The house has a regular-sized two-car garage. There is a very short driveway which is not large enough to park a car. The only parking for this property is the two-car garage. Parking on the street at any time is not permitted and will result in a complaint and/or fine. A large truck (like a Ford F250/350) will not fit in the garage.
Unfortunately, there is no other parking for this property at the house or in the neighborhood. If you have a 3rd vehicle or a large vehicle, you will have to make plans to park somewhere else that allows overnight parking, or booking a different property may be best. Beautiful house, clean and comfortable
This was our first trip to Estes Park in winter and this house was perfect for our stay. Super clean and comfortable, all the comforts of home and more. The fireplaces were great, lots of extra blankets, comfy beds, quiet and good location. The views were gorgeous! The owner was very accommodating and definitely put a lot of thought into setting up this place for guests. Best experience we’ve had! Highly recommend! Hope we can get back there again to stay!

My wife and I live with our 4 children in Loveland, CO - just 40 minutes from Estes Park. We love visiting Estes Park with our children and decided to share our experience here with others. We love the mountains and all the activities that come with it.

Why they chose this property

The classic mountain home getaway. It's a perfect blend of the conveniences of modern building and the log construction features that give it that classic look and feel. This property was built in 2007 but looks and feels like a classic mountain cabin.

What makes this property unique

Location: couldn't possibly be better - up on the side of Rams Horn Mountain with nothing but forest on two sides stretching all the way to the top. YET only 10 minutes to downtown Estes Park - and two completely different routes around Prospect Mountain to get there gives you the convenience of avoiding the traffic to get to the side of the town you desire. To top it off, a shortcut to the entrance of one of the main entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. This house is also in the closest location to one of the best access points to the Park - Wild Basin and the Longs Peak Trailhead.
