About this property

The Cottage at Southbend Farm

Relax and recharge at Southbend Farms in Historic Mt. Pleasant, TN. Southbend Farmhouse is located on a 400 acre farm. This newly remodeled 1900’s farmhouse offers modern conveniences with a nod to historic preservation. Originally constructed with hand humed Poplar logs, it has been added onto over the course of the year and is now a fun and relaxing escape for couples or families. The farmhouse has all the charm of country living. Enjoy a glass of wine or sweet tea in the porch while watching the kids chase lightening bugs in the yard.

This cozy house is close to major attractions, but far enough away for rest and relaxation. Just minutes from downtown Mt. Pleasant, Tn. Southbend Farmhouse is located just 10 minutes south of Columbia, TN (full of entertainment and shopping- www.visitcolumbiatn.com), 35 minutes south of Historic Franklin, TN; or about an hour south of downtown Nashville. Southbend Farmhouse is in close proximity of The James K. Polk home in Columbia, Mulehouse Music Venue, and the Natchez Trace. Explore Ethridge, TN just 15-20 minutes south and the Amish market.

Decorated in transitional upscale Farmhouse decor, the main living area features 12’ ceilings. It has comfortable seating and features an 86” flat screen tv with cable network channels, with access to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, among others to ensure you don’t miss the big game or your favorite movies or shows. The living room also features a small game table, perfect for a card game or puzzle, a 2nd dining spot, or a work place.

The dining room holds a beautiful table that has seating for eight-ten people. An antique welsh cabinet has been converted into the bar, outfitted with enough glassware & stemware to entertain in abundance. A second sideboard buffet in wonderful for serving appetizers or extra drinks. Cloth napkins, chargers, along with entertaining pieces help you be the perfect hostess without forgetting anything.

Off the dining room is the kitchen. You may be in a 120+ year old home, but the kitchen is outfitted to our modern conveniences. A full-size refrigerator with water filtration system & ice maker, induction range/stove, dishwasher & microwave are just the beginning of the appliances you will find in this kitchen. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything a chef could need.

The main Master bedroom features a large King-sized bed with luxury linens and a custom made overhead canopy which gives a nod to the historic home. A 65” flat screen tv, a seating area, and working desk are just a few of the amenities of this beautiful bedroom.

The second Master bedroom features another large King-sized bed with luxury linens. A flat screen tv is hidden in the walnut armoire. Another seating area, double closets, and a small desk make this bedroom super functional as well as relaxing.

Kids and adults alike will love the double bunk bedroom. Sleeping 4 people, each bunk has it’s own dimmable nightlight, fan, and double USB charging ports. This bunk room has a flat screen tv perfect if anyone wishes to bring their gaming console and play some video games. It also has access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, among other channels. There is an ensuite bathroom to the bunk room that has a tub/shower combination and double vanity. The window in the shower allows you to overlook the vast farmland.

A beautifully marble designed bathroom is off the mudroom, which the two Master Bedrooms or any guests can access. A double vanity and plush towels make this bathroom feel luxurious.

The mudroom holds a stackable washer & dryer along with a folding station. Hooks & a bench allow you a place for your coats and bags to land without them crowding your bedroom.

Outside on the back porch, there is a dining table which can seat 8 people along with a comfortable seating area. A gas grill and prep table are also outside for your use. Watch the kids play on the swing, enjoy a good book in the hammock overlooking the serene surrounding of farm living, or cozy up next to the outdoor fire pit with s’mores under the clear country sky. The rental does not include access to the Barn or farmland, but a stroll down the long gravel drive to the back of the farm is ok to enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise.

Southbend Farmhouse is a wonderful getaway for a quiet weekend with friends, family, or alone time. Let us help you plan your stay with arranging catered meals, spa appointments, or pointing you in the direction of wonderful activities in the area.

Wonderful New Years Weekend Trip
This country home is outstanding. It is a historical property sitting on a large farm. The setting is beautiful and the home is just stunning. The interior is beautifully decorated and the restoration of the old home is extremely well done. My family and I loved being there. We cooked wonderful meals, had the fire pit at nights, took long walks together and made memories that will last a lifetime! We also went to Lawrenceburg for some awesome antiquing! It was a wonderful trip, we would highly recommend this home.

Wonderful experience!
Even before we arrived the owner was helping to make our trip extraordinary! We were traveling in by car and we were arriving early. I texted the owner and we were allowed to check in when we arrived. I’m originally from this area so being in a beautiful old farm house setting was amazing. The wooden floors were refinished, the decor was perfect, the high ceilings made this large home look even larger. My grandchildren had so much fun running around the yard and swinging on the rope swing. The kitchen is fully stocked with every pot, pan, utensil and appliance one would need to make a gourmet meal. We were greeted to a lovely gift basket filled with goodies for everyone. My daughter was so impressed she said she would like to have wedding there. Plenty of room, towels, extra blankets. I can’t say enough nice things about our experience or the property owner. Any question that I texted was promptly replied to. We will definitely return to this little slice of rural bliss. Thank you!
